The Great Hall seemed to shake with the thunder of applause from the students, roaring like animals and stamping their feet, all with their eyes on the staff table.

“This is the best Leaving Feast we’ve ever had!†Seamus screamed as he wiped tears of mirth from his eyes; Dean, who was sat beside him, had his head on the table for support, banging the wood with his fists, sending forks flying in all directions. Harry clutched onto his stomach, wincing with pain as he giggled uncontrollably and Ron fell backwards off the bench, unable to control himself.

“This is so embarrassing.†Hermione looked around with a small grin on her face, biting her lip as Parvati and Lavender collapsed in a fit of giggles beside her.

“Shut up, Hermione; this is the funniest thing I’ve seen in my entire life!†Ron shouted as he tried to mount the bench again, shaking with laughter and looking across at Hermione’s trying-to-be-straight face. He opened his mouth to say something else but a chant began to echo around them, perhaps a thousand voices gradually uniting as one, stampeding feet joining in, all echoing the word ‘Snape’ at thunderous volumes.

The tall, greasy-haired man at the staff table looked sternly around at them all as though they were all children behaving badly at a nursery. Harry’s chanting voice faltered as Snape’s eyes met his and a sudden worry entered his mind.

“Ginny!†He had to lean past Neville on his left and shout over the screaming chant until the red-haired brown-eyed seventeen year old turned to look at him. “How long is the Lyrical Potion supposed to last?â€

“Oh, there’s plenty of time left.â€

“You sure you put enough in the punchbowl?â€

“I put enough to last till midnight!†The two of them shared wide grins as they turned back to the staff table at Snape, who was still watching them unblinkingly. The chant seemed to be getting louder, if possible, as the walls shook with the noise combating them, loud and thunderous thuds from feet on the floor and fists on wood. For a fleeting second, Harry thought Ginny’s Lyrical Potion wasn’t going to last the night, wasn’t going to fool the Potions Master himself. But suddenly, Snape brought his wand out of his pocket and brought it to his mouth.

“YES!†The students cried as one as a tune started playing in the background and words started flashing in bright colours behind Snape, which he turned to face.

“Aww, wizard karaoke is amazing!†Harry shouted manically as Snape prepared for the first line of the song; Harry grinned with utter happiness.

“Oh, I’m going to miss his place!â€
