  1. Thanks as always to the Crew, you always do a great job, special mention for the guy on photoshoot B outside the doors on Saturday, had a few photos there all day and he was keeping everyone informed and smile on his face all day.

That would be me! Thanks for the positive feedback, it always makes the show that little bit more special when you recogniseyourself in a "Thank You Thread". Always try my best, and apologies if Gollum freaked anyone out at all ;-)

  2. I urge you all NOT to watch any video that Scout posts of her photo shoot on Friday. It contains some extremely dodgy footage, and I'm not talking about Jess' camera work......

Scout was very dancy in all of her shoots that I was in, and seemed so full of energy. Just such a lovely young lady!

  3. I want to say a huge THANK YOU to the guy taking the photos on Saturday morning in area B I think it was. (Norman Reedus shoot) omg my pics have turned AMAZING AWESOME PERFECT. THANK YOU sir for capturing the best moment of my life and giving me great photos to tresure :)

    That'd be Duncan, he's awesome!

  4. Some of the light issues mentioned do seem a problem related to the on site printing too. I had this with some of my shoots last year at least and when I bought the images they were okay. I am kind of curious to see if that is the reason this year too.
I have experienced the same last years events - printed copy appears overexposed but the actual levels on the digital copies that I purchased show that exposure is correct.

This weekend, with the exception of the DS9 group shot, and Hasselhoff/KITT the prints from areas A and B again appear slightly overexposed to me, not as much as last year. I suspect when I purchase the original digital images they will be exposed correctly.

The printers/cameras should be recalibrated to each other when everything is setup at each show. No printer will match the quality of the shot taken unless it's calibrated correctly. I suspect this isn't being done. Area C was particularly bad with shots coming out far too dark. My friends brown t-shirt is completely black in one of his photos. The photographer said it was fine on the camera, so clearly the calibration of the printer is at fault.

All printers need to be calibrated to different cameras. Apologies if I'm wrong but taking some test shots using some kind of calibration card once everything is set up would solve a lot of problems and I'm not sure this is being done given the results.

I was on Photo B printers on Saturday, and I can safely say that we actually did do that. I can't however, speak for other areas and/or days.

  6. Agreed. The tall lad at Photo A and B and I think he was also on Scott Bakula's auto line was particularly helpful. Everyone was pleasant and helpful. I had no idea they were volunteers. Thanks very much for giving up your time so we could enjoy ourselves. :-D

This *may* have been me, photo B Saturday, photo A Sunday, and cheekily popped into the queue for Scott to get my picture signed late on Sunday. Does that sound right?

  7. As far as I am concerned I had a great time on Sunday too. All Space1999 guests were very nice and was surprised to see that Alibe Parsons spoke Italian (for me it is always a plus). I got the actors' signatures on a special artwork I made myself (I got envious of kinggodzillak photoshop compositions and I had to do something about it!); nearly all actors congratulated me for my artworks and some asked for a copy! Unfortunately, I had one print only with me, I couldn't imagine they would have been so successful. However, Sylvia Anderson insisted she wanted a copy and asked her agents to share contact details because she would like to display it in her office! Now, that made my day (or year, possibly).

Special hello to the guy from Singapore whom I met at Alibe's desk.

Second special hello to the ubiquitous Michelle who remembered my name.

Third special hello to the lady in charge of Suzanne and Anton on Saturday and Sarah and John on Sunday.

    Giuseppe.

I remember you! I seem to remember getting the language completely wrong, and then chatting to Sam and letting you and Alibe get on with it. Glad you had a good time!

  8. I have a crazy moment! I walked into the Michael Winslow shoot on the Sunday with my knitted Meerkat Sgt Jones, first one up, and promptly stopped the whoooole shoot whilst he launched into a skit about Aleksandr.... "Haf you ever noticed zat ze Russian meerkats tend to speak wiz ze German accent?"

I think he's been watching too much UK TV whilst he's been on tour........

  9. The guy who was organising the queue for photoshoot A on Saturday, he was loud and clear - I knew exactly where I needed to be for all my photoshoots at A (This was my first big convention and I was unsure how things worked). He then saw me in the photo collection area and told me where to find my Carl Urban photo (I must have looked rather lost!!).

All the crew I had dealings with were lovely though, and I want to thank all the crew for a lovely event

Glad I could help Ms Berry!

The guy organising the queuing for photoshoot A which I believe was the Gillian, Jeri and Hayden booth. He was loud and clear.

absolutley, think his name was Barry. I stood there for a while as I had Gillian and then Karl Urban photo. At first everybody said he was a bit power pissed, but after 5 mins you could see how hard the job was and that he did an excellent job.

    Many thanks to the man

You think right! Hi! Barry here! Many thanks for the complments!!!

I also have to say a huge thanks to the gent with the glasses that organised the queues for Photo Area A on Sunday. At every event, he is always one of the most professional and friendly crew members there is, and he completely sorted out that area on the Sunday, from the opposite on the Saturday, when the guy in charge of 'organising' the queue was the complete opposite. I'm sorry but having someone shouting in your face to stand a centimetre to the left when you've got a headache already isn't fun or nice, despite him trying to make a joke out of it the whole time.

Jack - My abject apologies for making the headache worse! I sincerely hope it didn't spoil the rest of your day! I've taken your comments on board, and will try to tone the volume down a little in the future!

Julie (red shirt) and Barry (loud shouter) - I'm terrible with names so apologies if I've got those wrong - from photo-shoot A on Saturday, for being so helpful and letting me go to the front of the queue without making me feel self-conscious about it (I had an operation on my leg recently and this was the first time I'd been out anywhere on my crutches).

Tom - You're more than welcome! I've been on crutches myself in the past, and know that hanging around on them any longer than strictly necessary is never a good thing! Glad I could be of help!

  10. Time Team hosts/experts plus a talk, maybe im the only one who would love this, hehe ;)

    This is a great idea!

    Oh Hell Yes!

    Also:

    Any Big Bang Theory,

Any Glee cast (Especially Rory, Uneeq and Mercedes)

    Re-book Jonathan Frakes maybe?

Oh, and as we have the INCREDIBLE Michael Winslow at LFCC, how about Marion Ramsey for EMS? "Don't move - DIRTBAG!!!!!"

  11. Photo collections - Later on the Saturday and Sunday became more difficult. On the Saturday we were waiting for Brian Blessed/Tom Baker photos, there wasn't enough table room for all of the photos that were being put out so one of the crew decided to grab a batch to hand out and call out descriptions of the people in them. This worked to an extent but he was mobbed and it brought back memories of the Leonard Nimoy photos of 2009. Also when one child photo wasn't taken and he had three or so other child photos he quite audibly said they must be part of a group and didn't call them out!

That sounds like it was possibly me - tall-ish chappie with knitted meerkats on his lanyard?

I was trying my best, and I think I actually had multiple shots of the same child at that point. It was pretty manic though, good job I'm used to dealing with crowds!!!!!

  12. My Bad Wolf banner from Bad Wolf (the big behind the stage one) is way more than 8ft long, but I've managed to get it signed at all SM events. Here it is unfurled, and actually in the hotel at MK

    (girlfriend not included)

That's a shame! She looks familiar, has she attended any of the events I've crewed? I know I've met you and had a brief chat....

  13. At the risk of being heartily laughed at for suggesting the logistallcy improbable, what are the chances of a joint shoot for Ben Browder and Chris Judge, you know, schedule them overlapping in the photo shoot, something like Ben, then both, then Chris? Same could be done for Tim Russ and Jeri Ryan on the Saturday (I know, that one's DEFINATELY pushing my luck....) Just a thought......
