  1. Couldn't agree more! A play on words is one thing, but I can't help feeling that any woman willing to refer to herself as "bitch", even as a fan, has no self-respect.
  2. Okay, I didn't get this email and now I'm super concerned O_O Gold Gets me into all the screening, right? (I KNOW THIS QUESTION IS REDUNDANT BUT I'M ASKING ANYWAY) I almost had a heart attack--I thought that said a NEW Sherlock Episode. I'm not so sure. I thought that was for Platinum and VIP tickets only.
  3. I hope it doesn't get to the point where I have to decide what to leave out.
  4. Sorry, can't help it. This puts me in mind of some Shakespeare:- "Get you some of this distilled Carduus Benedictus, and lay it to your heart: it is the only thing for a qualm." The play is called " Much Ado About Nothing", but I don't think that applies here, do you? Aren't Sherlock fans an educated bunch?
  5. I'd been wondering why Phil's name hadn't cropped up as a guest. Now I know. Still, it doesn't rule out the possibility of getting them to a signing event at some point in future, if they want to do one.
  6. For the Friday night meetup, I thought.... My itinerary is almost identical to evilfairie's, and I'm staying in the same place too, so I'll be doing the same things, and will be looking to go to the preview and get dinner before the party. What time do you guys think is good to meet at the Watson section.. 7? (Do we have times for the party yet?) 7 sounds a good time to me, gives people time to have a look around other exhibits/orient themselves. The party times are '8 till late' but I'm guessing you can turn up any time after 8. I think this will work best. An hour to see the exhibits/sets, and an hour to get something to eat before going to the party. I'm staying in my usual cheap hotel near Euston Station, so I would be leaving at around 10pm.
  7. I will be 51 years juvenile (hee hee ) a fortnight before the con! Last night I made 2 new badges (Mrs Hudson and Irene Adler) and fastened them to the strap of my "I Am Sherlocked" messenger bag. I have also cleared the memory card in my camera, as I had stuff on it going back to the "Lords of Time" con in 2012. It's all on CD now.
  8. Just when we thought it couldn't get any better
  9. Hi Maggie, can you remind me of Mark's dogging joke if possible, for the life of me I don't remember it. Yes, same please! Okay... the joke concerns the lights that appear out on the moor. At first it seems to be someone trying to signal to someone else, but actually turns out to be a car rocking up and down as a couple are having sex inside. A reference is made to the practice of "dogging" which is when people have sex in cars with others watching them. Of course this sort of thing requires privacy, and where more private than the middle of the moor in the night? From the Wikipedia plot section for this episode: "John notices what seems to be Morse code signals (these were unrelated; they were headlight flashes from a group of doggers)." As the episode is called "Hounds of Baskerville", it's a very naughty play on words, and I cracked up laughing when I realised what was going on.
  10. I'm going to get pictures of the sets and other displays on Friday night too. We'll never get near them on Saturday Can I suggest that we all meet up by the John Watson display? If you have posted a message on this thread, what do you think? The more the merrier?
  11. I love "His Last Vow, because of the twist with Mary and Lars Mikklesen's wonderfully evil performance as Magnussen. "Hounds of Baskerville" is another favourite, due to Martin's performance when john is trapped in the lab, Benedict's performance as a scared Sherlock, and Mark's very naughty 'dogging' joke!
  12. No offence taken! I apologised as I take the same view as Galahad in "Kingsman: The Secret Service"...... manners maketh man.
  13. Which con did you met Benedict in your lovely avatar? Conventions run by other companies cannot be mentioned or dicussed Sarzy. Which is why I didn't specify any names, but sorry if I'm tempting people to discuss what we shouldn't be. Won't happen again!
  14. Hello! I initially booked a silver ticket, but upgraded to gold. Over the next few weeks, I will be re watching the series on DVD to get into the spirit of things, and at the con I will be taking my copy of "Sherlock Chronicles" to get signed. I'm hoping to get Andrew, Rupert and Lara's autographs on it, as I have other signatures from.... ahem, another event (hee, hee)! Won't be cosplaying but will be wearing a "The Game Is On" t shirt on one day and a "Get Sherlock" t shirt on the other. I'll also have a messenger bag with "I am Sherlocked" on it. It'll also have lots of badges on the shoulder strap, including BC & MF in their Victorian costumes. I will be getting a s many pics as possible of the sets and the John Watson's history displays on the Friday night, as I strongly suspect Saturday will be bedlam. Does anyone think the BBC will film this con, to put clips on the DVD of the special episode or Season 4?
  15. It's a slightly weird hybrid, isn't it? but with the number of people wanting to attend such an event, what could the organizers do? I shall make sure I'm wearing sensible footwear, for all the running between talks/photos/autos!
  16. I'll doubl check, but I don't think you'll have to pay again. Hi! Sorry to be a pain. What did you find when you double checked? Sorry, I haven't heard back yet. As you noticed from this topic we're very much swamped. Some e-mails get faster replies than others. EDIT: CONFIRMED: You do not have to pay the validation fee again for the upgrade. You are not a queen, you are an ! Thanks very much for this. See y'all next month!
  17. I'll doubl check, but I don't think you'll have to pay again. Hi! Sorry to be a pain. What did you find when you double checked?
  18. Couldn't agree more! I upgraded to gold for £295 and I've just been doing a "what if...?" exercise. I've added up the cost of weekend entry, the individual costs of the photo shoots and all the talks on the main stage, based on the info we have so far.... it comes to £454! And that's before we get to any autographs, pre-assigned or not. This is turning into quite a bargain
  19. Hello Sorry if this has been asked elsewhere, but... If you paid the e-ticket verification with your original order, do you have to pay it again for your upgrade? I have a gold upgrade ticket, but kept the email from the silver purchase with the verification fee on. Is this correct?
  20. All good things to those who wait.... I'm really looking forward to this now!
  21. Thanks very much for this. Looks like I will be travelling in early each day to get the earliest VQ tickets I can Aaaarrrgh! Sod it..... I've emailed for an upgrade to Gold.
  22. Okay, I had another look at the FAQs which say "How will the autograph queue work? Those with packages will have priority and be called by ticket type and number, with all others using the Virtual Queue system." On the tickets page it says, under Silver Pass "Click here for PACKAGE details". So I have a "package" that entitles me to a bit of priority, don't I? I can't see where it says Gold is the lowest priority, apart from your post.... unless somebody else knows different? I'm really confused now. Please advise.
  23. Hi apologies if I'm being a bit dense, but do silver package holders have any priority in the autograph queues?
  24. I've just booked a Silver package to guarantee some photo shoots. It worked out quite well at the first Torchwood event. If I can join virtual queues each day of the event and pay then to get some autographs as well, then that's fine. I knew this event would be more expensive than a regular hotel-based convention, but as I haven't been to a con in the last 12 months, I'm ready to splash out a little for this one. As long as I don't go completely bananas..... hee hee!
  25. I've just had a nosey at the message thread for the 2014 con. I'm pretty sure that the prices won't be that high, but..... ooof!
