  1. TNG was the first Star Trek series I watched, and Patrick Stewart plays Captain Picard to perfection! Definitely TNG!
  2. This story is based on characters and situations owned by the original author/writers, publishers and distributors. No copyright infringement is intended or to be inferred. Word Count: 450 Approximately one month before the events of Nemesis Stardate 56714.9 “So, Data, had any ideas about a wedding gift for Commander Riker and Counselor Troi yet?†Geordi was unsure of what his friends answer would be, because, after all, the android never failed to amaze and surprise, especially on occasions like this. “After researching Betazoid and Terran conjugal rites and discovering the tradition of presenting a gift, a few ideas did spring to mind,†Geordi remembered a time when the phrase ‘spring to mind’ would have confused Data to no end. "But I considered these to be too, how should I put it, bland for Commander Riker’s…intriguing personal tastes.†Geordi was glad to see that his friend had avoided any obvious choices, such as any type of kitchenware. He was also now whole-heartedly interested as to what Data would suggest – he sensed his friend had a surprise or two up his sleeve. “Are you familiar with the works of Irving Berlin?†At that exact moment, an unmistakable groan could be heard from the table beside them. They slowly turned their heads. Worf was unsure whether Mr. La Forge and Mr. Data had even noticed him there. He seemed to have a knack for surprising people like that. “Worf! When did you arrive here?†Worf chose to ignore Geordi’s question. “Irving Berlin,†he grumbled. Worf did not look up, but instead kept his eyes on his Klingon beverage. “Are you familiar with his works, Mr. Worf?†asked Data, in his usual, quirky tone. Familiar? If he ever heard his songs again he would personally see to it that the performer knows it is a good day to die. “My mother, Mrs. Rozhenko, used to play ‘his works’ whilst I was trying to concentrate on my Klingon studies. I found them highly… annoying.†“Commander Riker happens to enjoy these archaic musical forms, Mr. Worf, and, accordingly, I will be performing ‘Blue Skies’, a song from the twentieth century, by the aforementioned composer. It was popular among the American public of the time, and was revived twice in that century, and once again in the twenty-second century -†“I get the idea,†retorted Worf. He sensed it would be a long day. “I love the idea, Data, even if Worf doesn’t.†“I am glad that you do, Geordi,†Data looked around at his friends, his friends that he had come to regard as family during his time on the Enterprise. He looked at Geordi, beaming. He looked at Worf, who seemed to boast an odd, twisted smile. And he thought of Commander Riker and Counselor Troi, and just hoped that they will be happy with his gift and will be forever happy together.
