OK, lets clear some things up. I was a crew member at C8, and I spent almost all day on Saturday prepping Shatners queue for what they were gonna have to do when they got to the end (you may remember me if u were there, big curly hair!), so I at least hope you'll all take my word when I say that all of the things that annoyed people were nothing to do with the crew or the show organisers. JCB is employed by the guests, so we can't do anything with her other than do what she tells us. The location (and changes of!), the set-up, the cost of the autograph is all dictated to us by the Guests, we have to do what they want, and especially when its a guest as well known as Shatner. The no-photos rule and the set-up designed to stop photos was again dictated by, in this case, JCB. I spent a lot of my time apologising to people for the no photos rule and trying to stop people taking photos, and i watched all day as fans were dissapointed with what they got out of the £25. All I can say is that it seemed to me that the effect was largely as a result of JCB, when she briefly left Shatner alone in the afternoon while he was signing to go and shout at someone, he was slower, nicer and didnt mind at least replying to comments made to him. I agree that he could have signed as many autos as he did (which, incidentally was not as many as 5000) had they been much slower, but dont forget that the events that Shatner usually attends back in the states has high enough attendance for him to sign 600 odd autos an hour and never run out of people to sign for. Sorry if u were dissapointed, I was when i hobbled over to him (my feet and knees were killing me!) at the end of the day and didnt get any more than a mumbled thankyou after working for him all day. Just remember its not SM's fault!
