  1. If you're paying for an autograph you should be able to get it in any form you can - dedicated or undedicated, unless there are time constraints. If you think that dedications - on 10x8s - discourage dealers then you're living in a fantasy world.
  2. He is currently working on Saturdays and Sundays.
  3. Now we need Antonio Fargas and Paul Michael Glaser...
  4. Hello Yes -that's exactly what I asked. It always makes me feel really uncomfortable, and embarrasses me, when the minders refuse. It has happened many times at many different events. It is quite frustrating. If there were staff around to ask or clarify the situation I would but more often than not when you need them they're nowhere to be seen (and I dont mean that facetiously - but rather in recognition that there is a show to be run!) Not sure I can post links, but I have some drawings on my facebook account.
  5. Sadly Keith's death was announced this morning.
  6. The guest has been announced - Irene Lamb. Of course, I'm being facetious - but one person's great guest is another person's "who are they?" So it's entirely possible the guest has been announced.
  7. I would rather have Birmingham, if we cant have any events in Manchester. Already enough things in London, so it would be helpful for those of us north of Watford to have events in Birmingham, Manchester or Leeds.
  8. Saturday was quiet - both in terms of customers, guests and dealers. I had got all my autographs by 10am, and then leisurely wandered round the dealer room spending the majority of my time at the one stall which appealed to me. Some comments: - I was amongst the first to arrive at the hotel and told to queue in a certain place. This proved to be wrong information and we had to join the back of another queue which had formed elsewhere. Showmasters/Autographica - please ensure that your staff are briefed before the doors open regarding queuing. In the end if didnt matter as it was so quiet, but I have visions of me having to spend the full day waiting for Ursula as a result of this error. - I was quite angry, actually, at being told I could have an unsigned photo from Eva's table. I draw the actors I meet and now have an autograph I cant mount with a drawing as I dont have anything to draw. I thought the rule was you could get an unsigned photo for every autograph purchased. Showmasters/Autographica - please ensure that this policy is clarified and agreed one way or the other - no half way house (so that some will provide photos and others wont)
  9. They will start to be given out as soon as the doors open (9am Sat, 10am Sun). As for what time. That's up to you. I'd say if you're there at opening time you'll see her within 2 hours. But that's not a guarantee No, and I wouldnt take it as such - when I met her last time I was there before opening time and it was well after 4pm before I met her. But, there was a bit of confusion regarding virtual queue tickets at that particular event. I remember being shuttled between two different points in order to find them - no-one seemed to know what was going on...
  10. Hello At what point will virtual queue tickets be given out for Ursula - and, correspondingly, what time would be best to arrive to guarantee an earlier meet?
  11. It's a shame her husband (Kevin R McNally) will then be on Broadway...!
  12. Sorry to tell you that Patrick Durkin has died.
  13. I have too many other events to attend this autumn - this is an event too far, for me at least.
  14. It's a great shame everything to do with this hobby has come down to money.
  15. No - he didnt mean it in a jokey way. It took me a while to persuade him to sign it, on the understanding that I wouldnt be flogging it (which I wont be doing).
  16. I didnt particularly like his attitude, it has to be said.
  17. I met him up at the emmerdale studios the other week - he accused me of wanting to sell my CoE DVD sleeve because he had signed it.
  18. How about some of the people who have been announced in the past then cancelled - Kristina Weybourne, Barbara Carrera (you could then have a Wild Geese 2 reunion with Edward Fox) etc etc
  19. Hello A further clarification - if you e-mail them saying you want to make some private purchases, they send you a form to fill out. 10x8s cost £20.
  20. Hello Worth pointing out that the stock available via the main Rex Features site is not necessarily available via the Rex Store. This means that prices for those on the Rex Features site can, apparently (from a conversation a friend of mine had with them), vary between £10 and several thousand pounds...
  21. Yes, it took me a long time to write my thread!
  22. Hello We've been having a discussion on another thread regarding sources for photos. This centered around Rex. I thought it would be useful to have a separate thread where we can discuss or just list sellers of photos. Here are some of the websites I use: www.moviemarket.com (prices are generally £3.99 for a 10x8 but as I write this they have 20% all prices) http://www.rexfeatures.com/ (prices seem to be just under £10 per 10x8) sells a huge range of images. Mirrorpix - which is pics from The Mirror - also have a large database of all sorts of photos. Prices used to be £10 each 10x8, but I think this was reduced recently to something more like £5. http://www.mirrorpix.com/fotoweb/home.fwx There's a company called Still Krazy - who have had a website but this doesnt seem to be operating currently. They sell under that name on ebay. They have a lot of very classic film stars (i.e. British and Hollywood golden era - 30s - 70s). Stateside Stills are often at Showmasters events: http://www.statesidestills.com/ They tend to specialise in current TV and film.
  23. I'll be interested to know how much they charge. They have some good photos of a variety of TV/film people I'd like to get hold of.
  24. If you do get Michael Gambon, will I be able to ask him to sign "Michael" on my DVD of "Arthur of the Britons", given that Oliver Tobias signed over the "Michael" of Sir Michael Gambon's signature at the last Autographica? I was not pleased - particularly given I had paid for it. Ruined the DVD as far as I'm concerned.
  25. How about making it a family event - brother James, nephew Lawrence (and wife Billie), daughter Emilia, wife Joanna David...?
