  1. Many Many Thanks Rosie ! I will do :) A pleasure! I tell him to expect something nice in the post. Rosie xx
  2. Yes Please !!! Also could you ask him if I could have his address ? Sorry that should have read his Agents address as I have something that I would love to send him and no its nothing weird lol You can write to him c/o: PATRICK HAMBLETON MANAGEMENT Top Floor, 136 Englefield Road, London N1 3LQ Mason is a lovely, very personable guy. We chat on a fairly regular basis and I've already had the pleasure of meeting him (though not at CML). Rosie x
  3. To be honest the only reason myself and Yeltzy were going was to see Andy (we're fans of his first and foremost, and meeting other people involved/connected with LOTR would have been a bonus) again; to say we're gutted is an understatement. The result was expected, but there was some glimmer of hope that it might - just might - have been a go-er. Rosie
  4. Hear! Hear! After all, if the shoe was on the other foot and we went onto the another show Germany forums to ask questions about the UK one....
  5. See, I'm rather intrigued by the Nazgul, and I quite like their mounts! I've been asking my husband for a Fell Beast for years, but he just doesn't seem to like the idea too much. I really can't understand why... I don't know why he's against the idea, it's not as if you've asked him for a warg!
  6. I agree - C4 was a magical weekend in all; possibly the best that I've ever been to. There is a saying that lightening never strikes in the same place twice - but that was said about Star Trek:The Next Generation and as I recall, that series and the other ST spin-offs all did rather well...
  7. Thank you, swan! These were exactly the same queries that I raised a few pages back when I pointed out that organising something of this size is no mean feat. I'm sorry, but I can't recall the page off hand, and I can't be flipping arsed to go through the comments again, life is too short for that...! I am going to refrain from commenting on this any further simply because it's now time for SMs to make a decision now! Some of us do have other commitments to consider and we can't put our lives on hold forever waiting for an answer. Either it goes ahead or it doesn't, as simple as that. Rosie
  8. Cheeky! Aren't you supposed to be watching the Heroes marathon on BBC 2??
  9. *huggles returned in abundance* Absolutely, totally agree with you 100% on this. Unfortunately I do turn into a right mardy old cow..which isn't good... Rosie - definitely, definitely *definitely* going now.... xxx
  10. Well said, YL! This is why you are my best friend! Rosie x - definitely signing off now....
  11. Right, I think tempers are getting frayed and I will apologise for that, FLM. I didn't like the tone of your post as you didn't like mine. So, lets bury the hatchet and start again tomorrow. Should be more careful what I post in the future, especially in the heat of the moment. This has given me more stress than is really good for me. I want to be proved wrong, I want to see SMs pull this together in 2 months. If they can do it, then kudos all round. Night all!
  12. Sorry kid, but I ain't in the f*cking mood right now, alright! Than I suggest you take it somewhere else, this does not help getting this event get going! I'm sorry to say it but it is true. Imagine if you had just joined the forum and were wanting to book and read THAT! DON'T YOU DARE PATRONIZE ME!!!!!! I'm sorry to say it, but it's true. OK, I may not be all light and fluffy like the rest of you lot. I'm not happy about the whole thing. I've made suggestions and some criticisms which I hope SMs will take notice. I've waited all year for this - I want it to happen, but I'm getting worn down by this whole damned thing!!! I'm leaving the forum for tonight. I'm far too angry to continue in a rational calm manner. Hopefully by tomorrow I will have calmed down and there might, just might be some good news!
  13. It's bloomin' frustrating! That's putting it mildly!
  14. You know I really don't give a f*ck anymore whether this goes ahead or not now. I'm getting sick of it. I've had to cancel other events during the year in order to be able to afford to go to this and the prospect of not having it at all is making me upset and angry. Good luck with it.
  15. I agree with you entirely about this Jenny; I can never understand that 'I've already met him, so I won't bother', but hey, each to their own and all that. I could never tire of hearing Andy and there's still loads of questions both Lou and I want to ask and none of it is concerned with his work on LotR, but we are aware that there are people who haven't seen him or heard him speak and may want to ask him about LotR, so he is still great value. For us two, anyway! My main beef is the lack of information and organisation for an event of this size, that's all. Anyway, like Lou - I've said all I'm going to say on the matter for the time being, so I'm outta here! Rosie xx
  16. Yes, I too have taken the risks and yes, it was a tremendous success (I was even offered a job in LA as a result!) but it cost me my health. It's not a question of chucking a few fans into a hotel with a couple of actors (as lovely as it is!) and hoping the event will run itself, any fool can do that! However, your faith in SMs' abilities is touching, but as a number of us have already stipulated; it really is too little too late. Who is supposed to be running the workshops? How long do the workshops last? Where's this banquet we were promised? Entertainments? The list is endless and is already giving me a headache just thinking about it; I'm not the one organising it! I've been to check on the Heroes Event thread; this is being held in March and already there is information about photo-shoots etc. This sort of information along with a schedule of events should have been in place for another show by now! Rosie x
  17. I wasn't going to post, but I feel I must now. Yes, I am gutted that this may well be cancelled. This was the one event that I've been looking forward to all year. Speaking as someone who for many years used to organise events and conferences (both nationally and internationally) on a large scale, I'm have to say that for a event like another show to be put together within 2 months is unrealistic, even if someone was working round the clock to do it - and believe me, I've done this and it practically killed me! (and that's why I don't do it anymore! ) To hold a event of a similar scale to that of another show in Germany requires months of careful planning and organisation and this cannot be just be thrown together within a space of a few weeks, otherwise it would look shoddy and unprofessional. And to Jason - whilst we appreciate that you were holding out for some good guests, surely it would have been more prudent to have thought about the actual content of the event and then booking the guests around that? I know you have been asking the fans what they would like at another show, but it may have been a lot less hassle to follow the structure in which the German another show has been run over the past few years, particularly as this is the first one of its kind in the UK. Also, would it have been wise to have someone working 100% completely on another show for the past few months and thus leaving the rest of SMs to deal with the other shows. It would have been nice to have a designated person at the helm to direct queries to. Lou has raised an important point; why not postpone until next year? My advice is get someone else in to organise the whole thing and do nothing else but that! This person can speak to the organisers for German another show, The Tolkein Soc etc to work out a decent time table of events for the weekend, they can then deal with the guests, the speakers, the hotel etc. You'll be surprised it can happen, it just needs a lot more thought and a great deal more organisation. Unfortunately it's not going to happen in just 10 weeks. Trust me on this, I speak from experience. Rosie
  18. There's a point! Hey, now there's a demonstration/workshop that would have been popular! Cooking - Hobbit Style!
  19. Ooo! For me! Absolutely!! Of course it may even encourage people to read the books who have felt it too daunting (like jael001) or perhaps feel inspired to try a spot of costuming.
