  1. You thought Chris and Michael were self important? Really? I'm not scolding you here, but I'm genuinely shocked to hear that. In all my years (all 7-8 of them) of attending conventions, and hundreds of guests met, I would put both of them in my top five of the nicest, sweetest and most attentive to fans. Just me, personally. I always come away from them smiling broadly. Chris even made a point of shaking hands with everyone (as far as I saw) which for me is fairly rare with a guest.

Ok this is my first convention so I can't compare to anyone else I've met, but I agree about Chris and Michael, they were great, really friendly and we spoke for a couple of minutes while getting the photo signed, as was Carmen, he was also great and friendly and were my 3 favourite guests. Gary on the other hand, while he was funny in his talks like the other 3, I felt he could be a little more talkative at the signing like the other guests were. I know what you mean about the "ship em in, ship em out" thing, I would've liked more time to talk to them, but there were a few hundred people to get through, and considering that I think Chris, Michael and Carmen were great for giving the short time they did and be as friendly as they were.

  2. I everybody.

I jut want to know you won the quizz and what did he/she have won?

What did you think about this quizz, I think it was a good idea!

That'd be me and so far I've not won anything, they did say they'd send me something though (Chevron 7.2 tickets would be nice *hint hint* :P lol ;)).

As for the answers, I've got no idea lol, I've already handed them in (obviously), but maybe the person/people who came up with the quiz can provide them (oh and also it'd be nice to know what the announced mistakes in some of the questions were, I think there were 2 questions that apparantly had something wrong with them, but we were just given question numbers, not what the questions and mistakes were).

  3. Right im back home at last, and thank gawd for that..

Im afraid to say this weekend was probably joint worst sg convention ive ever attended! I have a whole list of rants to go into, and im not the only one I know..

I honistly feel massive events have over done themselves trying to get into the stargate conventions, something which we've had for coming up to a decade now and just like other sg cons which have tried starting up, I just cant see chevron 7.2 taking off!

The talks were funny yes, but the fact there was only two each day sucked, and i missed half of the final one sat morning because we were told to que for carmens photo, and was still waiting 40 mins later!! The final one on sun afternoon was hardly a talk either, as it was just the 'auditions' the entire time, no actual Q&A!!

I'll go into the others at another point, but from a seasoned convention attendee, I did not like this event at all! I feel it only catered for nieve newbies who knew no better, and in some regards was just an expensive signing in a hotel!

Well I suppose on one of the naive newbies as this was my first ever convention and I enjoyed it (for the most part). The talks were great, as were the guests, I think the only way it could've been improved is if there were more guests, and as you said more talks (or at least longer talks, the person introducing them and asking questions seemed like he couldn't wait to end them at times, I know there was a schedule that had to be kept to, but there was also a lot of free time which could've been used for more talks). I was also hoping to see another Q&A at the final talk but the auditions were funny to watch.

Ah, well my post was actually meant to be in defense of the convention but I actually ended up complaining too lol. On the whole I did enjoy this convention and as it was small it was probably good for me to ease me into conventions. I loved the talks but did feel they could be longer, and I will most likely be going to Chevron 7.2 too (which I think I should get free tickets to as I won the quiz  lol).

  4. I voted for:

    Chris Judge

    Alexis Cruz

    Cliff Simon

It was a difficult choice, any of them would be great but those three are just ahead for me.

I think they're the same 3 I voted for, but if I could have a second choice I'd choose Amanda Tapping, Gary Jones, and Tony Amendola or Lexa Doig, or it might have actually been them I did vote for :chair::pyth: in which case it'd be Chris Judge, Alexis Cruz and Cliff Simon I'd have as second choices, I just know I wanted all of them and can't remember which ones I actually ended up choosing :chair: Oh and David Hewlett and Torri Higginson from Atlantis would be great too :chair:
