  1. Thanks! I understand Swiss German just don't start to ramble and talk very fast or I will look at you like this --> You have dread locks if I remember seeing on your picture, right? At which Hotel are you staying?
  2. Good question.....might be prepared to go a little further on the auction for a good cause. Thats what I was thinking as well. Some might be willing to bid more if its for a good cause.
  3. I cant talk swiss german I understand it though if you dont go too fast so feel free to talk swiss german with me. Im used to it anyway.
  4. Just a question, if I might ask. The money ppl spend on the items? Is it for a good cause/organisation etc?
  5. If I see you Im gona talk to you thats for sure and we will talk in german thats much better for you isnt it?
  6. Oh I love that Goldfrapp song (Oh La La) Niki strips to in the Five Years Gone episode.
  7. Ehm ... this question might sound weird but what are Convention Songs/Dances? Apart from that I'll be happy with everything good to dance to as long its not Hip Hop or some R&B crap. I cant stand that stuff. If that gets played just look out for the girl who's running out of the room screaming.
  8. ahhh. Yeah. That was my suspicion. I'm familiar with that problem going on in Switzerland at the moment. I live very close to the border and I had a job in Kreuzlingen once where I worked with other Swiss ppl and got to know that problem. I cant say its the same here really. Ive been on the streets in my black PVC goth dress and ppl did stare but nobody said something so I cant really say that its the same here. We have integrational problems as well but every country with a high migration rate has this kind of problem. Its the way they deal with it and I cant say I'm happy how the Swiss do it. Of course one gets angry if he/she or their friends end up in hospital because they been beaten up to a pulp by kids with a migration background but I sometimes had the feeling that some of the comments I heard where just plain racist instead of looking for a solution.
  9. I made my calculation in Euros Ticket: 100€ Plane (return): 100€ Hotel: 70€ Bus from/to Stansted: 24€ Train (return): 32€ Photoshoots (2): 45€ Total: 371€ no foodmoney included. But as its my birthday soon my parents said they gonna give me some "pocketmoney" for the trip and 371€ are not too bad.
  10. Strange. Ive been in Zürich during night time a lot of times but I probably been in the "safe" areas. Around the opera and such and I never really walked big distances on my own. Just out of curiosity. Who are "them". I might have a suspicion but I'm not sure.
  11. OMG. Is it that bad? I always feel save when going over to Switzerland. Most of the time I go to Zürich or Kreuzlingen and I always felt save there.
  12. There are some hostels who take just 10 quit for a night. Its not much and at least you will have a bed to sleep in. Try this www.hostelworld.com I book there all the time when I need a place to sleep in London. I did spent nights on airports or trainstations but its not big fun and not really save as well.
  13. that clip of you on Time Square is funny. I tried to post some pictures of me but it doesnt work
  14. Amazing how most of you know what they gonna wear. The only item I know about which I will be wearing is my bright red coat and my long curly hair is hard to miss. I still don't have all the stuff for the saturday party. I guess I will have to go into town during my break (If I manage to get out of the office) and buy something. I need a dress or a skirt for the party so I need to roam the shops for that.
  15. I know, I know! Maybe later this year? Sure. Whenever you've got the time and in return I'm gonna come to London to party as soon as I have my degree I know Romanian because my mum is Romanian and I was also born there. In Transylvania the so called Dracula Castle is just a few miles away from the city I was born. Ive been there a couple of years ago for the first time and I was so shocked how lovely it looks Like the Cinderella castle in Disney World. The annoying thing though was that there been a lot of tourist who didn't had a clue about the history of that place and bought that silly merch Dracula stuff
  16. Ah well. In not happy with this but I guess Im gona have to live with it. Im in the 200+ group and my best friend is in the 400+ group. I guess Im one of the ppl who will have to sit at the back. No revard for me booking early then. Ah well. I will survive.
  17. I'm from Germany too. *waves at fellow Germans* (Pez and Pure.Evil already mentioned me) I'm from Baden-Würtemberg by the way. Konstanz Right at the Swiss border. I'm also fluent in Romanian and obviously in English. I did french at school but because of lack of practice I forgot most of it. I'm there a couple of times a year but I just cant be bothered to talk french there I wanted to start on Italian soon as I do understand it but I cant speak it. A part of my family lives in Italy (Milan) and I see them a couple of times a year but I just cant talk to them. I understand what they ask me or what they say but I just cant answer Hey Pure.Evil. I told you. You need to come down here some time and just see, you gonna learn German very fast Not entirely but I'm sure you gonna catch up on some words and phrases.
  18. If SM accept credit cards at the evebts, payment with Mastercard won't be a problem. I pay with my German Mastercard all the time at Collectormania. You should check with your banks about partnering banks in the UK. Some banks (especially the bigger ones) do partner with UK ones. A withdrawal from the UK cashpoint of a partner bank will only cost you as much as a withdrawal from them in Germany. I did live in the UK for a year and during that time I still had my german bank account and my english one. (Im with Sparkasse by the way) and they charge about 5€ for a withdrawal from outside germany. Ahhh well. But I seen they [sM] accept creditcards and I guess Im gona be fine with my Mastercard.
  19. Oh good topic. I wondered if I want to purchase an extra photo shoot at the con. Can I use my Mastercard? I would rather spend my cash on other things and pay the photo with my card. I dont want to run out of cash and go to a cashpoint to get more as it costs me a lot to take out money out of my german account from a uk cashpoint.
  20. I don't doubt that but shes veeeeeery important to me. I want to have her with me *stamps foot and starts to pout* I don't say the others in line are not worth talking to its just I would love to have her around. She would calm me down and keeping me from becoming a nervous wreck while waiting. I'm very impatient and I hate standing in queues. Even when I'm at a gig and wait for the doors to open I'm a total nervous wreck 10min before and can annoy the hell out of anybody around me
  21. Ah okay Lizzy :) I am a newbie though. But I guess with a bit of common sense and polite behaviour from the convention goers it should be a nice event. For newbies and for oldies. I started to look forward to meeting some peeps of mine there more as the actual event and the party on Saturday. I'm planing my outfit for that one since the themes are out. (yeah I am that shallow ;) ) The only thing that troubles me is that my friend who booked her ticket far later than I did will not be in the same group as me for the autographs and photo shoots She got me into Heroes and I so want to share that experience with her not separated. Ah well. We shall see how it works out when we arrive.
  22. Lizzy. Ehm I hope this was not directed towards me saying I'm a screamer and complainer. I was disappointed in some cancellations (Greg and Zach *snif*) but as you said its not SM fault and I for myself dont blame them but Star Trek and Greg had a good excuse so I wasn't to mad. Ive been to a s***load of gigs in my life. I know they cant be compared to conventions but I guess with the screaming, complaining thing it does go the same way. Girls (and boys. oh yeah BOYS as well. seen them!!) who push, scream, cry...because they see their fave musician/actor/whatever. I hope its gonna be a bit better at the convention. I dont mind if someone gets excited and goes all "I cant wait!!" I probably will be the same bouncing from one foot to the next. I cant compare this to other cons (as Im a newbie and havent been to others) but we do get a lot of free stuff and I'm happy about that. Loads of stuff to take back home and to put up next to my wall full of gig tickets.
