  1. No one can, theyre complaining about everything from price to location, a lot of people are excited but damn even a massive one who isn't doctor who is still complained about. on the brighter side Boreanaz has been announced for Saturday as well so it means more chances for those who do want to meet him.
  2. Okay so what i'm about to say isn't me being a OTT woke person but a genuine concern that i would like to raise surrounding the announcement of Rupert Grint. Now let me preface this by saying none of this is directed at Grint himself as he has no part in this, but announcing a big Harry Potter star at this point in time was probably a bad idea, now i understand they're all actors and Grint has distanced himself from JK Rowling, but given the recent news about her it can be viewed as bad timing, especially given the years of blatant transphobia by her, and the more recent Holocaust denial by her, this is in my opinion a bad time given that an announcement is interpret-able as promotion to that series. thats how i feel about it really, i know its a darker turn but i just feel that this can be viewed in many different lights given recent events.
  3. Well nothing for Doctor who fans, and I suspect trouble may be afoot given the whole Harry Potter thing.
  4. I do get the annoyance with the conveyor belt experience ironically i've only had that for a guest who wasn't diamond pass, which was Jenna Coleman, even with Diamond passes for Matt, David and Jodie i never had an issue with being swung through, second time with matt i got a few minutes. and as you say they CAN get such a big name but the money required to meet them would spark backlash and only a few people would be able to actually meet them, of course on the flipside we have the Joseph Quinn situation (Funny how that happens), where the price was low enough that people were queuing up and being annoyed they couldn't actually meet him. the summer show tends to have a nice mix of guests, and i do enjoy getting the small ones especially when its on sets that would benefit from more names, Paul Kirby for example was a great find for me, and i'm hoping he's booked again so i can say hello and get a photo, wonder if the show-masters person whose monitoring this would list him for Doctor who this time around. if anything we're only 3 hours away from the announcement at 7 and i have this weird feeling that it's gonna be the last big announcement, although thats probably having seen the post photo but we will more than likely get more than just that given last summer they had a huge variety of the big names, which makes me wonder why people complain about no big guests, when they had Dolph Lundgren and Chuck Norris. that said i do hope alongside the big guest we get a load of other guests as well, IE Peter Davison is one i want most desperately on the medium side, as he would be placed on "Logopolis" and The Complete fourth Series
  5. In that term of switching to also getting Production Personnel it’s bound to annoy people who expect the bigger guests and only them, and tbh I’m here for it, conventions and events are my last refuge from the normality of life, even with it being more mainstream with cosplay and media attention, if all events were getting these massive big guests constantly and only, I think it would ruin the experience with too many people coming in and not looking to have the con experience, but to get in queue up and meet said person, before going off and complaining that they didn’t have a positive one for any number of reason, the most likely being that they were rushed through, because everyone else had the same idea. with the ones they do get, you at least have guests who are dedicated to the events and the fanbases as opposed to a lot of trend hoping on what is the most popular. which yes this sounds like gate keeping but id rather not see LFCC go the way where it’s so unrecognisable and I can’t have a healthy discussion with people in lines about what they’re getting signed and who else they may have on said set or item.
  6. The first and only one who comes to mind is June Hudson who is in the new series, and then she’d cover two classic seasons (a third if you count design work for Season 19 even tho it was only helping design 5s outfit) as a costume designer, and even Class for a single episode appearance, and given Show-masters has taken a step into a direction of Production Personnel it’s an increasing chance. if she was announced she’d likely be a £15 guest, and immediately I’d be slapping down that cash for my “The Keeper or Traken” as my current regret is I didn’t get her on said set previous, which now names on that set are a higher form of priority.
  7. Lets hope so it would be nice to add more names, i've already stated who i want any particular stories i'd like guest stars from, but at this time Peter Purves & Janet Fielding have moved their way up my list quickly
  8. Damn February was awful, and I mean Jesus what an awful month that what 7 names that month alone because early in the month we also lost Michael Jayston, still shook up about that
  9. Logic my dear @Mfahey79merely enables one to be wrong with Authority
  10. Surely on that note if it was a Doctor who guest it would be on the 19th anniversary instead of two days later.
  11. As always I’d prefer a large number of medium names with some smaller ones thrown in, but if we get a big one I am hoping for Capaldi or Tennant as the former I’m yet to meet, the latter has moved up the ladder for Series 4 given the amount of names I have on said set now: Catherine Tate (Donna Noble) Jacqueline King (Sylvia Noble) Camille Coduri (Jackie Tyler) John Leeson (K9) Julian Bleach (Davros) Jessica Martin (The Queen - “Voyage of the Dammed”) Sasha Behar (Spurrina - “The Fires of Pompeii”) Adrian Rawlins (Ryder - “The Planet of the Ood”) Christopher Benjamin (Colonel Hugh - “The Unicorn and the Wasp”) Colin Salmon (Dr Moon - “Silence in the Library”/“Forrest of the dead”) Michael Brandon (General Sanchez - “The Stolen Earth”) so having David Tennant atop of that would be great, of course with how my OCD works if Peter Davison was ever announced he would go above Tennant on said list, the Elder of the family I guess. also I’ve had a thought, because in the recent trailer we saw before Jinx Monsoon an appearance by one June Hudson if Showmasters booked her they could likely get what many people would assume to be a guest from the new series, but then they’d have a costume designer from the classic series, and in turn you’d have an actor from the upcoming series and someone who is deep rooted in the series
  12. Him and Peter Purves would be top of my list for me, as I want both desperately for items. but the more the merrier from the 60s and 70s I say
  13. So small update So whilst Mark Buckingham has had no direct involvement with the TV show he drew the short comic "Planet of the Rain Gods" which was then adapted as a short for the series 7 Boxset "Rain Gods". use that info how you shall, he is attending on the Saturday only.
  14. Yeah mine has been done in Batch 1 I think so I’m hoping they’ve also done the season 15 boxsets as I want to take that next month to an event.
  15. It’s taken a while but it’s good they’ve rebooked her from The cancelled Birmingham con, and now I can net her in the prized set, she’s already on Lost in time I believe she was the first name on it, but I can’t remember if it was her or Peter Purves. of course “The light at the end” is in desperate need of her, I started it at that same event in 2022 and by my stupid decision I chose not to get her to sign it, and if I recall they also had Janet Fielding as well, so a all around stupid moment by me
  16. I ran through the names and I made sure to do a thorough check as I had with Paul Kirby some years back making sure I was looking at the right names and nothing on Duplicate names that would suggest the same persons but listed twice. it is amazing to me we had such a large announcement of those from the time period and not a single extra or even player that appeared. personally I got lucky with Maureen as I have been after her again and now I’m hoping for Peter Purves to join her as I need him on two items (same as her) and one separate being “The Celestial Toymaker” CD so I have a Purves and a Lane
  17. Okay so evidently i wasn't doing my job and i wanna make some amendments. firstly Sophie Aldred Via a brief cameo can be featured on "The Fiveish Doctors" Reboot, as can Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy. Secondly i mentioned i was getting it yet never apart of the what you can get her on, as you can get Maureen O'Brien on "The Aztecs" Special Edition as she is featured on the "Galaxy 4" special edition as at that time, the then recently discovered Episode 3 entitled "Airlock" was featured as apart of a bonus item as it was the only episode then discovered and we didn't have full animations as at that stage in time the minimum was 66% existing.
  18. Yeah its weird as its not even an anniversary of it, just likely more of the filler, and believe me i checked none of them came up for Doctor who, and a few of them were the right time period but no dice.
  19. Because no one has mentioned it *Death stare implying for sniper to take care of target*, we have an update for LFCC, and boy am i excited for this one. Announced is the first Companion to join the show post start, that being Maureen O'Brien who played Vicki within the show, from "The Rescue" to "The Myth Makers" before she returned to do a staggering number of Audios for Big Finish. now to what you'll need in the more obvious category, as not every story during this period exists, so stories like "The Crusade" & "The Myth Makers" are available on CD, with the former available apart of the Season 2 Boxset, and then there is the Steelbook of "Galaxy 4" as well as the DVD and Blu Ray, and from what i have dug up she is also on the DVD of "The Gunfighters" so if you have a set with Jackie Lane, you could find yourself with an extremely unique combo. she is attending on the Sunday and is £20 for her Autograph Or Photo. Now for what i'm getting "The Light at the End" is obviously the one that is... Obvious, then because i am working on getting the four via "The Aztecs" Special Edition, so thats number 2 for me, and then because i have William Russell on "The Romans" if i can get a Season 2 Line up sorted i shall achieve it.
  20. I saw… the only doctor who guests crowd are gonna go berserk
  21. We’ve still a lot of time to see who we’re gonna get for LFCC July, more and more actors are travelling now for events so we may get lucky with someone who are across the pond. i know someone said that Lala Ward isn’t in the Uk but where I can’t remember but it would be nice for her to make an appearance especially as there are a few things I need with her IE my “Shada” & “Warriors Gate”
  22. I’ve only ever replaced 2 covers and those were under difficult choices, IE I had Colin Baker on “the two Doctors” and Sylvester McCoy on “Battlefield” but both got replaced when a copy of “The Two Doctors” with Bryant, Pearce and Clinton Greyn came up for cheap and a copy of “Battlefield” signed by Nicholas Courtney came up for not so cheap, neither set had been really started and by names who being real appear all the time. its why I had a dilemma when I saw a cover of “the Invasion” signed by Courtney because I want anything I can get with his name but then I already had the 3 other regulars and a healthy number of guest actors so replacing it was out of the question, hence I got lucky with a booklet when that came up.
  23. So i hit the gold mine with what i've managed to score, and that is a Michael Craze Signed VHS cover of "The War Machines", downside is it's dedicated to a guy called Rex, but that can be covered up by another signature, but yeah excited that i found such a cover with his name on it, also had to order a VHS of said story because i didn't own one, so thats something.
  24. I've had a look and i'm already gonna be forking a fortune out next month already so cant sending anything else away.
