I'm seeing the same rumours, but if thats the case they need to cancel him now rather than when printing the passes. as by then, how many would have collected him at 4pm for example

And whilst we're on cancellations. Paul Bannon Ladislav Beran and Angus Neil have cancelled

So far skirting any losses for us but that is something I am expecting to change.

plus what’s likely to be worse and Showmasters could really find themselves in trouble is if they print the passes for Dreyfus and people collect them and should he be a no show, it’ll be tricky for people to get the money back because the QR code will be used

Its almost like they heard you, and decided to play with you a little bit.

A big guest is being announced on Friday... For the winter show

On a more serious note I’ve already seen some people suspect it’s Dreyfus as their is considerable doubt about his attendance this event, as they’re expecting him to cancel on this one and we are T-Minus 3 days, so I’m wondering what’ll happen if he does with little time left.

it has been known to happen a day prior or even the day before but given that people could be getting the diamond passes printed on the Friday that could be an issue should he reschedule for the  winter event, that could cause issues with how many people will have them and how many more they may sell

Scene Showmasters HQ, shadowy building located in Hull:

he’s asked for no more guests, prepare the pre announcement post

  4. So we’ve often discussed big names and where our cut off point is on what we’d spend or how big they are compared to the role they played and whilst we’ve discussed the likes of Andrew Garfield for Series 3, Neil Patrick Harris for the 60th Anniversary specials, Ian McKellon for Series 7 and Benedict Cumberbatch for “Forty-Five” (this I would get purely to spite the Sherlock fanbase).

but I throw a new hat into the ring after Remembering Ellen Thomas is attending this weekend and that Fantom announced Keith Parry from the same episode “Planet of the dead”, that name being Daniel kaluuya a man who wants to get out… I’ll get my coat.

but given he became a horror icon for that one movie which was a very widely accepted and recognised horror movie on the same level as “Scream” in a way probably bigger.

but how much do you think he would cost for what is again a small role within the the episode?

  5. I am now at that point that I am begging no more guests please Showmasters, I cannot afford anything more… unless it’s Paul Cornell but for the love of god I cannot afford A. A new Big finish set B. To pay for an autograph on said set.

if it was Paul Cornell I could get him on 4 items comfortably, “The War Games” (Steelbook), “Day of the Daleks”, The Collection Season 7 and “Circular Time”, now for all intents and purposes I hate that Big Finish CD but at the same time it’s the only other one I own that I don’t have signed by him.

if he was announced last minute (IE Thursday) I could easily pack the 3 items I haven’t yet done so, I’m thinking to try and boost the names on the Bernice Summerfield audios as he did create the character, although I’m not necessarily one who resorts to cheating… too often

And if they can get Angela Bruce and Clare Grogan, I'd be a happy dwarfer, and be able to retire my poster. I'd make the exception for Robert Bathurst as he was in the first scene with Craig and Chris

Angela Bruce is one id jump at for my “Battlefield” by all means especially as I do need to get more names on that set which atm I only have the usual suspects of McCoy, Aldred and Cartmel plus Nicholas Courtney so another name would be solid and that would be a 5 name set easy

It would be disappointing if they add Hattie to the group shot, as the main selling point is the boys from the dwarf.

But at duo shoot with Norman I'd jump at.

This is also the time id advocate for a group diamond pass, where you get a pass for the four guys autograph. But no photoshoots

I mean they could offer another option with her involved I guess.

i mean a group diamond pass would be an interesting concept where you can get the autographs of all 4 guaranteed and have the group photo

  8. Well i've done a basic Tally for July post LFCC and so far its only a £80 for 5 names, which for me is actually a rather small pay line up, and i have one i can more than comfortably cut should someone big get announced, which i'd rather not, as i will be putting money side for October and November

  9. So it turns out one of the Red Dwarf main cast did do Doctor who, well sort of anyway as Hattie Hayridge who played Helly and the second Holly from Series 3-5 appeared in voice form in a big finish boxset, as opposed to just being a head on a screen.

Hayridge appears in 3 audios across a single boxset, specifically "The New adventures of Bernice Summerfield- Volume 4: The Ruler of the Universe" as Ebbis and Morlick.

Hayridge like the Red Dwarf boys is attending on the Sunday and is £20 for her Autograph.

I have had to order the set and at last minute Amazon was my best friend and they had just one copy left which should arrive tomorrow, but i can imagine for Red Dwarf fans and even I for their sake would be hoping for Norman Lovitt to also attend, imagine a 6 person photo with all of them.

Seems we have a few additions which will start in the next post but i want to be clear 4 names flagged up across the searches however two cannot be confirmed as being related, one has been ruled out completely as i managed to find a photo and they are certainly not the same man as Dan Mumford, who if it was the same man would cover a serious amount of ground, whilst John Charles i can't be so definitive at this point in time, but whilst i can neither confirm nor deny if its the same John Charles who worked on "Attack of the Cybermen", "The Happiness Patrol" & "Silver Nemesis" i'm leaning towards no as the IMDB Profile from the Wiki Page also listed another Credit from 1969 which whilst not unreasonable to assume he's an elder gentleman especially from his photo for the event, i found an interview which he refers to himself as having been 13 in 1973 meaning he'd have to be born in 1959/60, but IMDB has been wrong before, so i'd say Take a gamble bring the covers and ask, but beyond that i can't say anything of a definitive nature for him, but he was a props buyer not an artist.

Right I can now confirm that the John Charles attending LFCC is not the same one who worked on Doctor who, found another interview that states his DOB was 1984 meaning that he cannot possibly have worked on Doctor who

Same, I dont feel the need to add him to my season 7 steelbook

It’s just I’ve run out of things to get signed at this stage, I don’t own the VHS of “The Mutants” and as much as I would love to have a Full VHS library (mainly for names of a bygone era) I can’t afford nor have the space to have a complete one… I still need an actual set for “Planet of the spiders” for my Pertwee signature.

as for Hagon he’s lovely and I hope Simon Furman remembers a copy of “The Axis of Insanity” this time around, but as for myself nothing left

saying about the diary, at some point this week, with only 7/8 pages left in the original, I need to sit down and plot who goes in the original and who starts the new one

William Russel started the last one, so I'm torn over who starts the new one, I'm thinking Verada should christen it

Tbh if you could get Jamie Glover to christen it that would be almost perfect symmetry, but I understand that’s not viable.

Varada would be would be the perfect name to start the book, also will the Lux trio all bear one page or separate pages?, maybe they could signed over both on a two page spread?

Been there, the last time Barrowmore came, i had 2 steelbooks for him, 2 for Jenna, 1 for Sam Oatley, 1 for Hugh Quarshie,1 for John Leeson, ok there was some crossover, with getting Bernard Cribbins and Christopher Eccleston, but that was a hefty bag, before adding the 500 year diary, and powerbank etc

The only steelbooks I’m taking are the 3 original classic steelbooks, although I am tempted to bring both DVD and steelbook of “Fury from the deep” for Derek Chafer (again that guy is bloody entrapment) I can’t afford it, “The Power of the Daleks” and “Shada” are for Martin as he’s worked on them (and is on the commentary which is a nice bonus) whilst “Spearhead from space” is for Katy as she’s on a bonus feature.

there aren’t really any other steelbooks that I have which I’m desperate for signing as I don’t own the modern ones beyond the Jumbo Series 5 original which is always a set that I occasionally think about getting rid of, but maybe it’ll be a set that I only get certain names on in the future.

Same, I'm taking more this year that the last three years combined, and a little panic is setting in as to whether I can fit it all in, especially as I'm bringing my mum with me this year, hopefully she doesnt spot how much I'm laying out

In 2019, I did as many autographs, but 6 diamond passes and 5 other photoshoots albiet, some guests could have been obtained on the friday that year

This is my busiest one yet, and twice as much money I’ll have on me as I have ever had as the most I’ve taken was £500 to a Fantom signing as they had one fantastic line up of guests and names

I just knew that you loved Londons Burning and a name like that would have tempted you. I didnt know if you'd met him previous or not though

I’ve only Met Sara Powell and that was a few months before I ever knew about Londons burning, and around 8 months before I ever realised it was her

Cheating I know but it means I can take something else for Katy to sign

I mean Katy did 15 stories in her era, returned for two more appearances is on at least 4 Blu Ray boxsets of the classic series and is on a Steelbook of a story that’s not even a story she’s in, she covers a lot of ground that even I can’t quite remember the specifics

I've also had a small windfall, and bought a copy of the Mutants with Garrick, Katy and Jeremy Bear on, for same price as getting the two of them at the show, so now just need to add Derek on next week.

And gives me more leeway with my budget in regards to the foldable stuff

That most certainly helps, with Garrick I’ve got him on everything so short of finding a VHS copy with a few deceased names on it sans his I doubt I’ll be after him again anytime soon, or unless he does more big finish

I had a feeling that name would have tempted you

I hate that it’s so obvious nowadays that I would have been tempted by such a name alone, well Warris Hussain was already tempting enough because I can get him on “the edge of destruction” for multiple documentaries on that release.
