Was YALC at last summer's show, or did they move it to winter? I'd be in a similar position, as I'd be wanting him for Remembrance as well

I’ll be honest I don’t think so last one I remember was summer 2022, I barely remember anything of 2023 due to a few personal issues and being overwhelmed from Personal life issues

Well, not exactly surprising news, the new season dvd/steelbook release comes out after LFCC, the pre-orders for it are up  now, scheduled for the 12th August. We knew there was little to no chance of being released in time as the last episode is due to air the week before.

Hopefully it includes The Church on Ruby Road

But, it does mean that I'm hoping any big names from this season are scheduled for the winter show, for any that I'd plan to get on the boxset.

And I do reckon we will get guests from this season being announced alongside the episodes going out.

I’m hoping Showmasters will have some sense and decide to hold off until the winter event knowing that a lot of fans will want signed items and that their isn’t going to be a loss if fans can bring their own items like DVDs and Blu Rays compared to their could be such if their isn’t those items on the market, if they announced Gatwa and Gibson (which is extremely unlikely) they could at the very least have “the Church on Ruby road” release for them, and with Bonnie Langford who I think will make more appearances over the next year we have a large backlog of releases for her as is, even with Yasmin Finney we have the 60th anniversary specials.

that said even one guest star I’ve noticed which is June Hudson we have a backlog of her being any release from Season 17-18 as she was the costume designer and made a cameo in “Class”.

its just something to think about of course.

Yeah I’ve been busy with work so I can’t list them at the minute, one name came up Philip Bond but every link or mention comes to the actor who is both a separate individual and dead, even if this bond does have his own Doctor who Artist credits.

i hope they at least announce Andrew Cartmel and Jeff Cummins again they would be great

On this note if they start doing Bookzone again Ben Aaronovitch would be another great draw for Doctor who fans and I know he’s done other works, so multiple angles, plus I have 4 sets I want him on Badly, being “Remembrance of the Daleks” (Special Edition), “Battlefield”, The Dalek Collection and The Davros Collection all very large collections of Rare names, and a set which needs them

They have just announced a load of guest artists, Cam Smith Jack Lawrence and Staz Johnson, whilst some have inked for Doctor Who magazine, I dont see any further greater association at first glance. Cam Smith did do the cover for a Paul Cornell book.

I'd love to see them get the steelbook artists to the show, I did get Alice Zhang whilst she was at Star Wars Celebration last year, so would be nice to get Lee Binding, Claudia Caranfa, Tom Webster  and Sophie Cowdry

hopefully someone this Friday or whenever there announced

The more the better in my opinion as i could do with more names especially as i realised Terry Molloy is overdue to be rebooked and he's moved up the list slightly thanks to acquiring "The Davros Collection" and will be getting David Gooderson on it this weekend

    That is pretty awesome.

I don't know if you are going, but you did tempt them by saying don't announce someone you really want to meet, by them then booking someone interesting, and rare from the shows history

I can’t make it as I’m gonna be elsewhere with my partner on that day and I’ve already got commitments with friends afterwards

It will be quite amusing to see the reaction of people doing their shopping whilst Kim Hartman and Richard Gibson are strutting their stuff in the 'allo 'allo costumes

Gibson will be doing a superior Gestapo strut.

also I’m so upset I can’t attend I’m rewatching Allo Allo atm so that stings deep

I'm hoping for more to be announced for Collectormania yet, as at the moment we only have the two for Friday and 5 for Sunday.

Admittedly of those 5 on the Sunday, I'm wanting to meet 4 of them.

But it is pretty sparse, I know that space will be a premium but they used to get more guests each day when they were last at the shopping centre

Right now I’m just hoping the May signing isn’t gonna announce anyone I really want to meet because then I’ll be so upset as I don’t wanna drop a day at this show again like I did last year during October because they had Wendy Padbury and Sally Faulkner

Lets finish Saturday with something positive. A couple of days late, but happy birthday to Andrew Yarrow, 104 years young

My god he did it, that Makes Arnold Yarrow the oldest Doctor who actor as no one has previously made it to the age of 104 and now 4 days but god damn hats of to the man, even if he probably does look like Belal from “Death to the Daleks” at current.

praying for good health we’ll see a couple of interesting additions to the centurion list this year with Donald Pelmear in July and then William Russell in November, will the latter become the first lead actor from the series to reach such an age I wonder?

That one must have passed me by completely.

I mis-read your post as you would consider getting him on the boxset. Sorry

All good no harm done, the only person I’m never getting on the set (whose still alive) is of course Noel Clarke for reasons of an obvious nature.

  11. Next with more credits as since their was no page dedicated to him it took me a lot of deeper research IE crawling through pages to find credits we have Kev F Sutherland finally able to pin down some things to him.

the most mainstream he has done is as a writer on a DVD bonus feature entitled "the Trial of Doctor Who" for "The War Games" which is a single 6 minute comedy short, whilst his more prominant but less mainstream works are for Doctor who Magazine issues 157, 163, 167, 179, 181 & 192 (163 & 192 also have Paul Cornell Works) with multiple comic credits to his name, even if their exists no page for him.

    Kev-F-Sutherland-Base-Image.jpg

He is attending on all 3 days and like Stringer i have no price available as he is a comic guest.

  12. Finally doing this job properly with covering all aspects as best i can so lets get on with it.

with a single credit for Doctor who we have Lew Stringer who wrote and did the artwork for a single comic book story "The Daft Dimension" for Doctor who Magazine issue number 477.

    Lew-Stringer-Base-Image-Summer-2024.jpg

he is attending on all 3 days and i'm at this point unaware of his pricing.

Same logic as getting John on my Rembrance DVD, as he is the Dalek Battle Computer, I have re sent this in as cant make this show. So fingers crossed 2nd times the charm.

It is nice that they are getting as many of season 15 as they can, which even extends into next months line up as well

I'm also sending in my Greatest Show DVD covers for another event, which will bring that on up to 12 signatures on my main one and 7 on the other, and baring Ricco Ross ever making an appearance this side of the pond the main one will be as complete as it will ever be.

I'm surprised we haven't seen Andrew Hayden Smith at any events, I dont even know if he has done any in the past or not. But he would be a welcome addition

Andrew did a signing last year with Fantom thats how i got him on my Series 2 you must have missed that one i think it was August that he appeared.

That is exactly my sentiment, I'm glad they re-booked as it means they are ok, and that they confirmed it was nothing more serious than moving house for Christopher Robbie, as at their age it is concerning. I have him on one poster, so I was in two minds about sending the other.

I hadn't seen Wendy Gifford had withdrawn either, hopefully she is ok

Yeah i'm hoping the same for Wendy.

the problem is that of course that with her being replaced by the Likes of Derek Martin for example is his line up of opportunity is more diverse, and thus i have a wider pool to chose from making choice more difficult, but within budget i have Lost in time & Season 15 as there are 5 other guests from that season alone, so i'm gonna guess they're all gonna be on the same half together.

as for booking John Leeson, i'm keeping it simple with Season 15 and The Davros Collection even if he's not K9 in the latter it still helps to start off strong on the bat with two names, and if i had an extra £15 i would bring Series 2 for what would move up as one of my best combos of names IE David Tennant and 4 companions (even if only 1 is actually a companion in said series, 1 makes a mere single episode appearance and 2 are more regulars than anything else, and by this point i should consider Jake's actor Andrew Hayden Smith a companion as well making 5 if you think about it, but basically some strong main players).

either way i'm gonna be doing some great combo work, 2 more names for Lost in Time making a total of 29 names, Season 15 will bounce to a strong 7 names with 2/3 of the main cast, Series 7 will have 16 names, "The Invasion of Time" will bounce to a good 7 Names, the same with Series 1, so all in all i will be getting some strong combos this time.

If you are going to this one, pre-book the autograph, as at least then he cant jack the price up on the day.

Which would probably rule out Showmasters, as they wouldn't stand for that type of stunt

I'm not going no, its rare i deviate from locations i know but maybe next year i will more.

also if anyone is attending a certain event in May on the Sunday they have the voice of Janis the Goblin from "The Church on Ruby Road" attending and i believe they're signing for free

It could also be this is the first time all three were in the same place at the same time so first time they could get a photo of all of them together. As wasnt Millie on holiday when the rumours came out.

But still all it would have taken was someone on the production team to come out and say shes still an important part of the team when it all kicked off to quash the rumours

The way i see it is when you have so many newspapers and tabloids saying you’ve already been replaced so quickly into your tenure on the show might be draining and someone from the production team saying you’re important to the show doesn’t always mean that you’re still gonna be on it, im guessing they decided they had to announce a lot sooner than they would have liked that she is staying and that they’ll be joined by someone else on Series 15.

I think the issue I have now is the same I have with Companions who aren’t big finish exclusives, I now know that Ruby isn’t gonna be killed off in series 14 and that no matter how intense a cliffhanger she’s gonna be fine next week.

i do hate modern journalism, I would love to have been able to watch “the war games” during broadcast given the cliffhangers to episodes 1,4&5 are some of the best of the show and given everyone knew they were leaving they played into said expectation

Coming back to a previous topic of conversation, it was good to see the new publicity photos including Millie as well as Verada Sethu, although still a bit wierd they are advertising the new series before the current one has aired

It is beginning to annoy me that they’re giving so much away from the next two series IE that series 15 will have a second companion, maybe the leaks about Millie being replaced so soon we’re getting too much and they had to quash said rumours of only for her mental health.

Collectormania is just round the corner, and whilst the venue isnt large, we are thin on the numbers for guests, so it makes sense to concentrate on this event. Doesnt mean they wont announce guests for LFCC as well. But I think once Collectormania is out of the way, then it will be full steam ahead

I’m hoping that once they’ve done collectormania they re announce a few for LFCC specifically Anita Dobson because whilst I could do with her on “Blood of the Daleks” I know a lot of people missed out during spring because of the train strikes

i feel i can get Eccleston is Capaldi i am worried about might try meet him an award show when he goes to one

I think it’ll be some time before ever are landed at an LFCC, problem is I’m more worried about some of the older guests and rn as speculated they’re focusing on Collectermania atm, so we’re unlikely gonna see anything for LFCC at this time.

also I just realised how much I want Andrew Cartmel to be announced again as I have the Davros Collection now and I could do with getting his name attached to the set
