  1. Here's hoping and I've just got myself a hotel booked so this should be very much a hassle free thing indeed. The hotel, according to the website, is 0.1 miles away from the exhibition centre, so it might sound a bit strange, but I'm going to do a mock run up from Basingstoke, just to suss things out about a week beforehand and know exactly where everything is etc. At least I have a hotel which saves the stress of having to travel to and fro from Basingstoke, each day, which could prove to be quite taxing, especially for early wake ups etc.
  2. Sorry if I offended you Queen Sindel, it wasn't intentional. I am just very jittery about this as it's the second convention I've done and just the second time I've ever been to London by myself. Just to let you know, I seem to have a habit of putting my foot in it, so once again, I apologise. I'm a nice guy, really. All my questions have been answered and I am going to try and make Friday too, if I can. I plan, all being well, to purchase more photo shoots - not so bothered about the autos as I have quite a few as I am a collector and mainly collect unique things. Look forward to meeting you good folk at lfacc in July. I am gonna travel up from Basingstoke and go home the same night on Fri and Sat. As the show is over by 6, Id be home between 8 and 9, so no dramas there and since I now have a gold pass, won't make much of a difference. Thanks for all your help. Best, Robin
  3. Fingers crossed, I might be able to do the Friday, too. I live in Basingstoke, so I don't think I really need to splash out for a hotel. I might consider that a bit later on, down the line. They might book up quickly but I can't see myself getting back too late from the venue, so all should be good. I would love to do a hotel, mind.
  4. Yep gonna start looking at what's available for Friday - chances are reasonable I may be able to attend, that day! See whose there and choose my most favourite celeb I'd like to have a shoot with, for now, then add my next ones later on down the line, all being well.
  5. Hiya I was wondering, with photo shoots, how many should you purchase on average for a day? The good news, is that I might be able to make the Friday. Therefore, this will make my life THAT much easier with purchasing photo opportunities etc. which is my main interest - might as well make the very most of my gold pass, after all and the guest list is expanding and getting very interesting. Should you purchase photo opportunities before you know the timings of the shoots, in essence to avoid clashes? Sorry for all these questions - its my first time at Collectormania on my own. Best Regards Robin
  6. Thanks Wrong Name! I'm going to do what I said in the other thread and just turn up at around 8.30. I've heard that the Kensington Olympia Station is virtually opposite the venue, so that should be good. Gonna make sure I give myself PLENTY of time, even if I have to turn up a little earlier because this is my first convention on my own, so we shall see. I might ask my mate if he wants to go, but its unlikely, as its not really his thing. If anyone's travelling from near Basingstoke, drop us a line, lol.
  7. That sounds good to me Wrong Name. I'm going to turn up about half an hour before the show with my gold pass ticket and confirmation and it shouldn't be an issue, I'm sure. Going on Saturday and Sunday and slowly adding more guests to the list. If I can do Friday, I will. :)
  8. Thanks for the info, Wrong Name! That helps A LOT. What time should I turn up to join the queue for the gold passes in the morning? Say about half an hour or so? If I can do Friday, I definitely will. I was thinking of turning up around half past eight? Would this suffice? I just want to make sure I give myself plenty of time so I don't end up in a difficult situation. Thanks, Robin
  9. Hi, Just got a query about the gold pass. Basically, I am doing all within my power to try and attend the three days. However, I'm not entirely sure that this is going to be possible, in all truth. However, I can attend on Saturday and Sunday, for definite. Therefore, when I arrive at the event, would I need to queue to collect my gold pass in the normal queue where people buy tickets? I'm confused. Cheers, Robin
  10. I think I am going to attend on the Friday if I possibly can because this seems the simplest way to acquire your pass, not having to worry about the queues for the subsequent days and do what I want to do. Ace!
  11. Gold pass holders will get priority entry to the event - I can't attend Friday so I am going to attend on Saturday and Sunday with a gold pass - I hope this is going to be okay for me.
  12. Nothing to be sorry for, I completely understand. This is the first event I've ever been to, so I am a little bit rusty. However, I didn't want to take the chance of missing out on Robert Englund's photo shoot and it was stated that a standard ticket might not suffice, so I decided to take the chance on a gold pass. I've decided that I am going to attend on more than one day now, anyways, so its not an issue at all. Just find a suitable hotel and attend saturday/sunday, otherwise it isn't worth it as you rightly say and more chances for photo opportunities, etc.
  13. Well I've decided to take the plunge and purchase a gold pass since reviewing the material, it states those with a gold pass should be able to enter the event before regular entry people. I will probably attend on more than one day, but we'll see how that goes! I think I will try and turn up at least one hour before the actual event begins, I think this should be ample. I'm not going to turn up at a silly time.
  14. I noted that the diamond pass didn't include entry and I've already sorted this. I've had a look at the guest list and there are some guests there I wouldn't mind seeing, either. However, the main attraction was the photo shoot with Robert Englund, on the Sunday. To be honest, buying a normal day entry ticket, for example, could run the risk of not being able to fulfil the benefits of the diamond pass and although it might sound slightly extreme, getting a gold pass would at least alleviate those fears. Got six months to sort it, so won't be an issue. Thanks for your help.
  15. Hi folks, Happy New Year! I have never been to a collector mania event before and I had some questions that I hope you could be able to answer. 1) In regards to a gold pass, are these mailed to you or do you need to collect them at the actual event, depending on the day/days you wish to attend? 2) What would be the best time to turn up for the event if I was already in possession of a gold pass? Is there a dedicated entrance for gold pass members? The main reason I am attending this event is because I want to meet Robert Englund, most of all, but I want to make sure I am absolutely aware of the things I need to do before and when I attend the event, so I am prepared. So looking forward to this. Many Thanks, Robin
  16. Good Evening, Happy new year! I have recently purchased my Robert Englund diamond pass (so excited by this!). I have also purchased an entry ticket as well. I plan to turn up to this event as early as I possibly can, so is there anything else I need to be concerned about as I have this worry I may miss some of the things that the diamond pass has to offer? I think I've done everything right. Thanks, Robin
  17. Hi, Just wanted to clarify something. I've just purchased my Robert Englund diamond pass but I can't afford a gold pass (too expensive for me right now). Since this acts as a VQ ticket, do I need to worry specifically about what time I turn up at the event? Entry is between 9 and 6 on Sunday. As long as I have an entry ticket, do I assume you go straight in and since you have your diamond pass, you don't need to worry about not making the specific events related to the diamond pass, such as photo shoot, talks etc.? This is my first time attending, so thanks for any heads up. I would have purchased a gold pass, but since I'm going really just to meet Robert, I didn't see much point in purchasing a gold pass, just for that and I didn't purchase any other photo shoots in case I missed this one and since this is a once in a lifetime opportunity, I was worried I may miss it, which is why I am only going to meet Robert. Thanks Robin
  18. Useful info there - if LFACC is going to be very busy, then may invest my time and effort in getting a gold pass as it seems worth it and get a night stay in a London hotel, to boot.
  19. Hi Guys I've never been to a collectormania before. I am quite keen to meet some of the guests at the LFACC this year - my question is, I would be only able to come up on a Saturday, more than likely, though I could make a Sunday. However, what I need to know is, would it be beneficial to get a gold pass as I would like to get photo shoots with the majority of the BTTF guests and more possibly, as well. Is there a limit as to how many photo shoots you can do in a day? The ones I'd most like are Robert Englund and Christopher Lloyd. Anything else is just a bonus. Please advise. I want to try and get this sorted as soon as possible. Also, how does the system work because all I'm really interested in doing is the photo shoots. Do they call a number for when you go and would a gold pass overall give you the more beneficial options? I am travelling from Basingstoke and thinking about staying over. Thanks again. Cheers Robin
