  1. They were probably just trying to put people off the scent. And now the weather. They let us spend a week speculating who it could be, because they said it wouldn't be who we would expect it to be.......Did they really need to wait a week to make this announcement?
  2. Eventbrite has the tickets listed for the "big announcement guest" - it IS who many people were expecting lol
  3. For me, an American 'of a certain age,' this is a great announcement Just like Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead is now, watching ER every Thursday was a MUST!
  4. Lol, how much are entry tickets!!Can I get a Gold Pass? entry is free, autographs will vary depending on the guest. gold passes (which include 3 free autographs OR 3 free photoshoots of your choice) cost £200 but allow you to join any queue instead of having to have a virtual ticket. you also get access to the executive bathrooms and the VIP lounge. Where have you gotten the idea that entry is free?
  5. I think this is one of the best guesses so far - it fits in so many ways.....However, I think he's done signings....... The guy is seriously ill and can't walk or talk, and needs 24 hour care, you really think he'd be doing a convention Same thing with Macnee or Curry....... Would love to have had a chance to meet Tim Curry......
  6. I think this is one of the best guesses so far - it fits in so many ways.....However, I think he's done signings....... The guy is seriously ill and can't walk or talk, and needs 24 hour care, you really think he'd be doing a convention Harrison Ford was involved in a plane crash recently and is still rehabilitating - that hasn't stopped half a hundred people from guessing he'll be announced lol I still think, based on what Jason said in the original post, that it was a really good guess. Other than the 'you'd be able to get a multi-signed item completed' bit, Ali fits the criteria (plus, he has the connection to Parkinsons, which this con is raising money for). It won't be Ali, due to his health issues, but at least he fits the profile, unlike several of the names that have been thrown out over the last 44 pages
  7. I think this is one of the best guesses so far - it fits in so many ways.....However, I think he's done signings.......
  8. I don't think they have responded since making the announcement..... They have only responded to confirm that the price would be released at the same time as the guest announcement and to reiterate that this really is a one time opportunity Oh yeah......I can't tell who is "Showmasters" and who is a forum moderator lol Jason has posted a few times since his first post :) To be honest, I tend to just look at what the response is, not who makes it lol
  9. He's attended some cons; not sure if it's just been as a panel guest or if he's actually done signings.

  11. Sadly, although we might consider these actors "legends" and "A-list" guests, there are many on the forum who wouldn't have a clue who they are ...Then again, when the Power Ranger announcements were made, I was like, "Who?" Guess it's a generational thing lol
  12. I agree. This is a huge post that would take ages to read from start to finish. Some people are saying it's annoying when guests are suggested who don't fit or have been mentioned a few times since someone has already said they've done signings. These people say it's a waste of their time having to read the same guest's name over and over again. However, I say just either ignore them or be considerate of the fact that some people don't have time to sit and scroll through hundreds of posts. Also, some people aren't familiar with the signing histories of every celebrity. In actual fact, reading 'Harrison Ford?' takes a lot less time than reading the responses of people saying how annoying it is, that it's a waste of their time and that everyone should read through the hundreds of posts before posting themselves. The blunt, inconsiderate responses are an even greater waste of time, and they are just adding to the problem. I don't mean to start anything, I just think people could/should be more considerate towards others. Interesting how my remark seems to be the rudest thing ever said, while saying something like: "I don't feel like reading what everyone else says" is not. If you aren't interested in what other people say, why should we be interested in what you say? That seems inconsiderate to me. But, from the responses here, I must be wrong. So I deeply apologise to anyone who feels offended in some way. You aren't wrong; you were blunt and to the point, but it wasn't rude. Some people have chosen to interpret it that way, but you can't control how other people react. After 40 pages of comments, it would be nice to see a few "new" names being mentioned lol
  13. If it was 'just a guest announcement,' people wouldn't be getting so wound up about it...

I don't mean to start anything, I just think people could/should be more considerate towards others. I understand what you're saying. But if you, for whatever reason, haven't read a thread and come up with a suggestion then I think you should be prepared for someone to tell you that this has been suggested and debunked already. I do agree that there have been some rude and unnecessary responses, but if you're not putting the effort into reading everything you should expect a response. What you're saying is it's fine to annoy the people who have read this thread but not those who've just joined and ignored what's come before. There needs to be a balance, that's why a simple "they have been suggested, and have signed somewhere before" is all that is needed. Let's play nice people! Also, using the Google to at least try to find out if the person you are suggesting has attended / signed at a con wouldn't really take much time and would cut down on the number of repeat guesses......
  15. Forgive me if I step on toes here, but I'm curious as to why someone would want to add JJ Abrams's signature to Star Wars posters that have already been signed by other cast members? I can understand if it was Star Trek, but not Star Wars, as JJ wasn't connected to Eps I-VI. That would be like me wanting Frank Oz to sign my Ep IV poster when Yoda wasn't in A New Hope. If I were a 'poster purist,' I would only want signatures on it from people who were connected to that film..... Maybe I've missed something and some teaser posters for Ep VII have been released? Pinhead1987 could be suggesting that JJ could be the first signature on a potentially multi-signed item?
  16. It's all the hype connected to this announcement: it happens every time SM says that a 'huge announcement' is forthcoming. Days upon days, page upon page of guesses, some logical and considered, others not so much......I'm sure those of us who have been around for awhile know that SM will do things in their own time.....
  17. I can see an easy way to get around "paying out" if someone guesses correctly..... lol
  18. This can still happen. And it works the other way round too. Perhaps the guest wants to personalize everything, because he doesn't want stuff to end up on eBay. That would disappoint a lot of people as well. I know this is all common practice at events like this, but it is still strange. Imagine buying a car and asking if a radio is included, only to hear: "We don't know yet. It all depends on whether there's time on the assembly line to put one in. You'll just have to wait upon delivery to be sure." I prefer to get things personalised if possible; I have no intention of selling the autographs on Ebay because the ones I get are meaningful to me in some way. If a guest doesn't do personalisations, no biggie....
  19. To follow up from Stan Lee's appearance last year, what about Steve Ditko? Co-creator of Spider-Man & Doctor Strange?
  20. This may sound crazy, but I'm guessing Lady Gaga: she's starring in American Horror Story next series, and Naomi and Erika are already attending; she's definitely NOT someone we'd be expecting; she hasn't done a con before so far as I know; she would be considered an "A-lister" in some circles; and, even if someone isn't a fan, they will have heard of her. 😀
  21. But she has done cons; Jason has said it's someone who's not done a signing before.
