  1. Might not work due to eticket system using the saturday barcodes on another day when they might show up on the system as past due...

Maybe offer a compromise in the future as all tickets would be etickets:

    • Those who don't / can't use them on the other days email SM requesting a refund and that list can be refunded through the shop (those who bought only 1 ticket get the full refund including the fee and those who purchased multiple don't need the fee refunded as they have other tickets in the order.)
    • Those who can use them another day email stating which day they can do and the show transfers their tickets to the specified day, generating new tickets / barcodes that are active. They have already paid for the tickets and already paid for the fee so no one loses out and SM still know in advance how many are going to that specific shoot.

I know that option two would need a little more effort on everyone's part but it would solve everyone's problems and it can be done as Eventbrite have confirmed (via email) that event organisers have the ability to generate tickets themselves on the system. They cannot process payments without the fee but as the fees have already been paid they are simply transfering existing tickets to another day.

Just food for thought going forward

You could have someone cancel a day who sold 1000 tickets so the few office peeps would have to sort through 1000 e-mails. I think you have to leave the automatic cancellation as it is. I much prefer it to how it was before.

The only way I can think of to stop people whose tickets are refunded from not being able to get a ticket for the other days, is if a batch of tickets were somehow made available to only those people for, say, a week after refunds have been issued. I've no idea if Eventbrite can handle such a thing: whether they can make items available to only certain accounts.

  2. Christ sake can show masters sort this out there still using my name I'm from laindon no where else

Maybe you have some kind of split personality disorder. Like there's a Northern side of you that keeps posting.

Do you ever find a flat cap around the house and wonder where it came from?

  3. Show masters should have held a fun little comp. Every one has a guess at the guest. Then, if a person is right when the say on Thursday, they could get a free pass, autograph or some thing.

Who ever it will be, it's going to please a lot of people. I know hope it's not micheal j fox as I have just spent my last money on a car. X

Did it have a radio in it?

  4.

Yes it wasn't particularly well run, but hey, you spent a fiver and got a pretty decent program out of it. Nothing to get too het up about right?

    I didn't want a programme. I bought a raffle ticket.

Well if you want to look at it that way, that's fine. I choose to look at it like I bought a program, that contained free entry to a raffle, which I didn't win. Or maybe I did, who knows! But I'm not that fussed.

There were people saying they were going to buy 2 or 3 copies to increase their chances. If I had done that then I probably would be more in agreement with you.

  5. Free talks are always good as well, can be very entertaining , so keep an eye out for those times as well which will be across various stages and will include authors, artists and media guests.

They're also a great chance to just have a nice sit down.

  6. The issue is not with Stan Lee being in a separate hall that part is for the best, 100% agree on this, the issue is why cant all VQT be handed out in the one hall and then you go over to Stans hall if and when you want, i'm pretty sure over 90% of people attending will want more than Stan so therefore will need both halls anyway.

1 hall collect all VQT as normal, rather than having two queues for two halls, and those queuing for Stan potentially have to get higher VQT for the others ( i am aware TooTall should be finding the answer to this) but for me i think it would fairer for everyone to turn up, queue in their relevant queue, get all your VQT from one hall and then if you need Stan go get him once done. rather than queue for stan, go to other hall possibly queue agin, then go over to stan again and then back over to the other hall once done sounds very long winded and could get possibly confusing with people going back and forth from each building first thing.

just my thoughts. but ill wait for confirmation from TooTall on hows its going to work.

Say (for ease of maths sake) there's exactly 1000 people who want both Stan Lee and Carrie Fisher VQ tickets, but only the first 500 end up getting fulfilled. If all VQ tickets are handed out together, you'll get 500 people getting both autographs, and 500 people getting neither. This way, all 1000 get one or the other.

That's the theory anyway, and I'd say this is the fairer way.

  7.

Well, we who live not even remotely close to London (because, let's face it, only those who live there - or very close to it -will be able to go) or are not even from England, hope everyone will enjoy this so called "preview".

I live 200 miles north of London and im going so this is not specifically true it just requires planning and saving to be able to do it!!!

I think the point was specifically about the Sherlocked preview not the whole con itself. Any massive Sherlock fans who are desperately waiting for that event, but not already coming to this one, aren't going to be able to suddenly create plans to attend the preview.

  8.

There is plenty of time for both LFCC and the world cup. I don't see what the fuss is about!

I have to disagree. there might be trouble with drunk football hooligans especially with us cosplaying.

Well, you can always choose to cosplay as a character with a baseballbat

    or a gun!

Or just Cosplay as a drunk football hooligan.

  9. Up here in Glasgow we are known for being very helpful but we get mocked for our accent so I always feel that sometimes when I go to another place and lets be honest England is another country, there is no UK, come September that will be a fact but I always watch what I say so that they understand me but you can't make people talk to you. I think with the English people and the same with the Welsh and Irish, they talk in their native tongue all the time but of course we get a lot of stick for it. If you come from Edinburgh or Fife it's fine. It's just Glasgow that gets all the fuss but then again we have personality, something that severely is lacking elsewhere in Scotland. I'd like to think for anyone travelling up here that if they asked for help that people in our city would be glad to help them.

I asked for help in Glasgow once. I was headbutted, injected with Heroin then deep fried.

  10. Nate, did you see The Wind Rises during its UK release recently?

I agree Hayao Miyazaki would be a really good guest to meet at any UK show.

I have tickets for next Wednesday at my local independent cinema, or 'filmhouse' as it calls itself. It'll be the first Ghibli film I've seen on the big screen.

I'd be surprised if he ever comes over for a show - he's very old and surprisingly few people know who he is, considering he's the greatest animator of all time.

  11. Might be an idea to stick him in EC1 then everyone who wants to meet him can queue out there in the morning and everyone else who isn't coming for Stan can queue outside EC2 as normal.

I like this idea. A separate queue for those whose first thought upon entering is to get a Stan Lee VQ ticket. To stop people running and scrambling to find the right place, the queue is given the vq ticket as soon as they are allowed in the door.

Also, as I'm not after Stan's auto, it would make my early bird queue a lot shorter!

It would have to be very well signposted though. A use of barriers to funnel people into the right direction would be useful.

  12. Not a fan of creating inequality in photo pricing. There is always the choice not to offer them. Whilst a few hundred will be happy, another few hundred who may have got his auto now won't be able to get it...

Photoshoots are quicker so more people will now get photos than won't get autographs. Also, it will give his signing hand a rest - he would have had to take breaks every so often anyway.
