I suspected this would happen, despite more guests being promised, since the event has been booked and cancelled twice before I think people were understandably reluctant to buy tickets on the strength of the line up already in place in case it all got cancelled or moved again. It is a shame, my daughter turned down a role in a play because it would have clashed with this event, but hey ho. Such is life. Plus with the new big Comic-Con event in Cardiff now announced, then I guess more emphasis and work will be put on that.
  2. Same here - after the event having been cancelled twice before, I am reluctant to jump in and buy again without knowing (a), that its definitely going ahead and ( having some more guests added.
  3. I'm a newbie too - but I think they give a code or something that you can give when you contact the hotel to book a room, but there's no code up yet.
  4. Thanks for the response, it was helpful to me as well. I've booked this event twice and its' been cancelled twice so i am a bit reluctant to fork out again until I know things are firmly in place. A couple of questions from me: above it says 800 to 1000 guests are likely. If you buy Gold package are you still going to spend ages in queues and lines to get your photo/signature? It doesn't really appeal to be hanging around doing quizzes from the programme or whatever while you wait to get called for your turn. I;m bringing my daughter (hopefully) and she is not very patient! I know some people get dressed up for the evening events, but I presume it isn't compulsory. I'm not skilful with crafts and can't afford to buy costumes, so its unlikely we'd dress up unless we can put something together from things we already have. Any info on the Friday drinks reception with guests thats included in Gold package would also be helpful.

Just wanted to say that I had originally booked for this event when it was previously arranged in November last year - the date then got moved to June of this year and I wasn't able to go then as I was out of the country for those dates. I'd paid for Gold package ticket. I emailed and informed the collectormania place where the tickets are bought, using the reference and email I'd received as the booking confirmation. I was given a full ticket cost refund which was in my bank just over a week later. The banking system itself can take up to 7 working days to process and transfer and credit funds back, so I didn't think a week's wait was unreasonable.
  6. I have - like many of you - been emailing, tweeting and posting/messaging on Facebook. Tried phoning too. I am prepared to wait and see what comes of this potential new date - but I'm restricted by where it's likely to be as I am not allowed time off work in December. I was meeting a friend at the RTME convention who was flying from Europe, she is going to lose the cost of the flight but like me is prepared to wait and see for a little longer. It's good that refunds have been promised in the official update post - when the event was re-arranged from last November to June of this year, I was out of the country and not able to attend & I got a full refund for that. It's just that the lack of updates and communication makes one less inclined to want to go ahead with any future events, in my view anyway.
