  1. I'd love to see a star trek 2013 event with all the TNG cast as Sir Patrick suggested, but I'd like to see it organised by someone different. That's my opinion.
  2. If they had more space it would have been even emptier, I'd you had all this space why didn't they utilise the area they DID have? I felt that this event was just poorly manage and so do hundreds of other people I would suspect judging by the forum, peoples blogs, people I spoke to at the event and finally some stars themselves and I know this for a fact as a couple of them commented to me directly (they shall remain nameless) so I think that getting people to attend is just part of it, using the phrase it's down to the ticket holder to have a good time is nonsense, if there isn't alot to see other than the stars what's the point? The hardest thing is getting people to go to other of your events is another, if people had only been to this one they may go away with a sour taste in their mouth, had you considered that?
  3. Well I enjoyed meeting the stars, but if all 5 captains hadn't been there I wouldn't have paid the money for the ticket. But I'd have to say meeting the stars aside I'd say I didn't enjoy the whole event no.
  4. Seriously? Great job? I would disagree, guests we're amazing and one of actors (who shall remain nameless) remarked on how disorganised certsin aspects of the event was. This was a guest not a paying fan, and this person was just sitting there signing and even they could see how much a joke some things were.
  5. I personally think that there should have been more than one booth giving out free talk tickets etc, there should have been one than one area o distribute these, maybe an idea would have been to have the free talk tickets withe the people who had VQ tickets by the stars doing the talk. Eg. David warner VQ ticket, also the free talk ticket that way u get the VQ and free talk at the same time, that way people don't queue up for hours, wasting there day to get nothing, I feel sorry fir anyone who had a one day ticket for yesterday and had to q fir free talks and didn't get em. They would gave wasted a lot of their day.
  6. I do find it a shame that it seem it is very much a "you can post whatever you want....so long as it's positive, if it's negative, keep it to yourself or we will edit/delete it" this makes me feel like my opinion isn't truly valued.
  7. Well there was a post a few weeks ago about the goodie bag contents and an official person replied with something along the lines of, they will have rare items that are exclusive and will be worth alot. I don't think a cheap plastic pen and a badge can be classed as rare items really. I'm hoping today will be better as it's gonna be quieter, however this is responding to GONZOXL5 they would be well aware of the numbers going after all they sold the tickets, so they would have been more than aware of this.
  8. When you pay £25 for a ticket, you expect that kind of party to get going early.
  9. Goodie bag? I have to say the "goodie bag" was just like the event itself, under-whelming. A bag with 4 leaflets, a pen, little and I mean little badge! The cost of my Silver pass should have at least Secured me a lanyard for my pass, I mean I was under the impression that gold, silver, and platinum passes were supposed to be priority tickets, but clearly the aquisition of my money was enough. I am not happy with the way this convention has been organised, and I use the word organised in the loosest possible sense of the word. I also think that having to pay extra money for photos to be signed is also another way of getting your money, the cost of the autograph should say £18 (this includes £3 for photo) but this is too much to ask, I just hope the next trek convention is organised by a more experienced organiser.
  10. Well this has been my first star trek convention and I have to say after spending £250 for a ticket I have not been impressed. There is no issue with the stars or the talks themselves when they eventually started. I was disgusted today especially after waiting in line for free tickets for by stage B for over 2 hours without clear queues or organisation, then eventually someone took the initiative to go into the mammoth queue and inform people that all the free tickets had gone. I have been to other showmaster events and there appears to be a running theme and that is disorganisation, when you ask people questions, noone knows what's going on, the attendants are very rude. This is the biggest star trek event in 10 years and I feel that the organisers where not the right ones for the job as every even I have been too that has been organised by them has all been the same, het the people in, take the money, then sort out the show on the day! Lots of people not knowing what's going on, I feel like the description of this event was exaggerated, says see "SETS" this is plural and less I'm mistaken I only saw one which was a bridge set that was falling apart, "INTERACTIVE EXHIBITS" I saw none other than a huge pin moulding thing in the federation zone and a chair on the Klingon zone. This has been a very big expensive disappointment, had the organisation been better and communication to staff and ticket holders been better I feel This may have been substandard at best. Not good, maybe this event was too big for the organisers. Learn to walk before you run.
