  1. Leanneee I don't agree - Hiring the excel was choice of the organiser - they should have taken the cost of this into consideration during the planning stage and to ensure there were enough activities etc for this to be a value for money experience and also a Star Trek convention celebrating the shows & movies, not just a money making scheme and putting together a poor experience outside of the guests themselves - perhaps a cheaper venue would have left more cash for the experience and still left a tidy profit in someone's pocket at the same time
  2. Thanks Wookie nice to see someone official at last apologise and put something on here so thank you - its not your fault as an individual , but overall there were so many bad things about this event it was extremely disappointing
  3. I have put " no " because the negative points for me outweigh the positive. I will write a full review at another stage.
  4. I couldn't agree more, my positives were meeting the guests as they were lovely.. attending the talks especially Kate Mulgrew who was brilliant.. and seeing all the fans dressed up... I have so many negatives its unreal !! I like you stood by people all day over the three days ( as I was stupid enough to buy a silver pass ) and heard negative comments about everything - I did not attend the stunt show or a party because of all the negative comments I heard from fans who had already been to them
  5. Well I stood by the entrance taking pictures of guests dressed up ... I saw people going inside wearing jeans, trainers, and even one guy who had white jeans on with a Star Trek top ... I don't ever recall seeing this on the shows, the organisers didn't either as I heard them telling people like this " to stand really close to someone else in the centre " ... record was achieved but at what cost , I would have loved to enter this but having read the rules that only Star Trek canon outfits would be accepted I didn't have time or money, if I had known I could wear jeans and trainers like others I saw go in I would have done the same
  6. Closing Ceremony ??!! I did not even see this advertised anywhere and was there until 6pm on Sunday ... ( silver pass holder , already very disappointed by the value for money & organisation of this event ) so extremely saddened to hear this
  7. It was the plastic laminate you have lots of holes punched in now ... I have the same with silver and after rummaging through my "goody bag" realised
  8. I find this a very interesting read ... you may take comfort in that two of us paid £225 per ticket for the silver pass, so £450 in total and we basically had a very similar experience to you ... yes we got access to the opening ceremony, captains talks, bridge shoot, stunt show, and a goody bag ... but ... due to the ridiculous queue system we spent 2 hours waiting for a free talk ticket to find they run out before we reached the front, similarly the queue for paid talks was a shambles and seating was so bad they didn't even have enough seats for everyone and so people with standard tickets eventually got to sit nearer the front than silver or gold passes, the bridge was falling apart and not even a complete set, the goody bag had nothing good about it as it contained a pen and badge and lots of leaflets for adverts and up selling, and the stunt show we did not attend as heard bad reviews and that it was not even connected to Star Trek ... the only positive is the guests , they were lovely and so polite to people and just great to finally meet
  9. I would have thought for a ticket costing over £200 I would have got better items than leaflets advertising things for sale at the event ... and a cheaply mass produced cardboard beer mat, a pin badge, and a pen - these items cost next to nothing to produce , I don't know what I would have liked but the term " goody bag " indicates there would have been something actually good about it.... overall very disappointed.
  10. yep so another £12 to spend on photos to get signed instead of £3 ;-) the goody bags should have been the same for all, or better the more the original ticket cost leading to better value for money - lesson learned though , not having a go at you though as I know you're just the messenger
  11. hmmm so silver pass costs more than standard pass.. and they get a better goody bag lol oh well ... thanks for checking
  12. 2 x Silver Passes - all we got was a load of advertising leaflets, a cardboard bear mat, a tiny pin badge, and pen - also got an A3 print. If there is a list of what there should have been just to check would be useful :-) thanks
  13. Well I didn't get a signed photo ... was I meant to ? :-s
  14. Hi Queen, you are deffo one of the nicer and more helpful people I have seen on here :-) any news on what should have officially been in the goody bags ? I am there tomorrow .... so if I am missing anything can pick it up ( just don't want to waste time queuing to ask )
