  1. Just wanted to ask other forum members the odds of getting any of the remaining moonwalkers over for this years Autographica? For me it would be great to try again and get Apollo 15 commander Dave Scott after the disappointment of last year. Any of the remaining Apollo moonwalkers would be fantastic also being the youngest is now 80. Fingers crossed and let's hope :)
  2. It would be great to have a double moonwalker photo opportunity with Ed Mitchell and Dave Scott. This was very popular before with Buzz Aldrin and Alan Bean. Fingers crossed they will both make Autographica next year and another chance to meet these remarkable guys.
  3. Well done showmasters ! made my weekend too someone I have wanted to meet for a long time. excellent news cannot wait.
  4. Have to agree Dave Scott Apollo 15 would be a great guest to have. Harrison Schmitt or John Young if they could be convinced to come ( worth a try you never know until you ask ) For me maybe cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova or Alexei Leonov who have both been guests to the show before but ones I missed .
  5. Quite surprised to see these fees as from my experiance with all the other astronauts I have met at Autographica Buzz Aldrin was the only one so far charging for extra words and I guess he can because he is the most famous one and such a iconic figure and has his placed marked in history as being part of the crew of the first lunar landing. If I understand this correctly and this includes all the Apollo guests now I am to be honest a little disappointed as I think the fees set for just the autograph are fair and extra words should always be free or it just gets very expensive and goes beyond what they are really worth on real market value. This is a hobby after all not a money making show . I fully understand it costs a lot for these guys to come over and see us but these last bit price changes dont help when you have been looking forward to a show for ages and now have to start deciding on buying less autographs from other guests to compensate for extra astronaut words.
  6. Just another thought of a future guest I would love to meet like others on this forum I guess. Any chance Autographica of asking him to make another visit as I know he has appeared once before to this show ?
  7. Great to see others thinking like me especially being 50 years since the pioneering vostok 6 flight in 1963. What a great attraction to the show this would be and would certainly draw a lot interest from all over europe as I notice she attends hardly any events and appears to be very low key considering her place in history. I guess my last thoughts are come on Autographica pull any strings you can and get this fantastic guest heading this way once more !
  8. Any chance of Autographica asking Valentina Tereshkova or Alexei Leonov to visit again ? These guests would make a great addition to a already great astronaut lineup. I know both of these guests have visited Autographica before, but having only in the last few years found out about these shows I missed meeting them. These two would make a great addition to the Apollo lineup and here some stories from the other prospective to the space race. Of all the guests to meet of future Autographica these would be my top two and of course any of the moonwalkers.
  9. Well done once again showmasters excellent guest , great astronaut guests so far and I am really looking forward to the show. Guess I better get saving too :)
  10. I would really like to think Buzz will be back to the UK at some point, but I have just also read he is scaling right back on autograph shows mainly due to his age and other priority commitments . I could be wrong but suspect this was his last attendence of Autographica unless anyone knows different. In my opinion it cannot be said enough how great the organisers of Autographica are for getting these Apollo guys here and for most of us it could be our only chance to meet these historic figures. I will certainly continue to attend these events and support them to be given these opportunitys. Also as pointed out above his 2013 fees have now increased dramatically and I think have now gone out of reach for the average collector. Just to quote his current 2013 fees compared to only last year. All in UK pounds - standard autograph 400 - autograph on item with just Michael Collins 530 - and a whopping 1050 pounds for a Apollo 11 completion. All these prices exclude additional words which cost more. I really hope you get a chance in the future to meet him.
  11. Excellent guest and one I was hoping for. Really looking forward to this years event. Well done Autographica.
  12. Well done the organisers of Autographica for securing Walt Cunningham. This guest alone is well worth the travel to Birmingham from London and I am really looking forward to this years event. As always I am well up for as many apollo guests as possible just like many others members here. Excellent work guys and many thanks.
  13. After yet another great Autographica in 2012 any thoughts on a wishlist for astronauts in 2013? For me it would be fantastic to round up as many Apollo space related figures as possible as none of the guys are getting any younger and any crew or staff would be warmly welcomed to the UK by many. This was a historic point in space exploration and I would relish any chance to listen to more personal experiences. If anybody can Autographica can ! Gene Cernan, Alan Bean and Dave Scott being my personal wishlist. If I am correct I think Autographica has bought these guys to the UK once before ? Would be great for one last push to bring any of them to our shores again.
  14. Hi, Have been looking forward to meeting Buzz for many years and after last years cancellation cannot believe it finally happened and he was actually here. To begin with following the topic of autograph charges I also had prepared many months in advance and had two items which required signing. I had a two books signed by Michael Collins and was shocked to find out this was not the base fee but now in fact a completion fee ? Instead of 250 pounds each they were now 370 pounds each as they were completion items even with no Neil Armstrong. Had to ask twice as I thought i may of misunderstood. In the end I decided to leave it as this in my opinion is not a Apollo 11 crew completion. Yes shocked at first but well this is a significant historical figure who will be known for many centuries to come and the evening gala dinner with Buzz was priceless. I was lucky enough to be seated two seats from him and chatted to him for a short while , for me no amount of money could recreate such a special moment and cannot thank Autographica enough for bringing Buzz Aldrin to the UK. The lecture Buzz gave was a very special added bonus too. The photoshoot with Buzz was excellent value and will be something I will treasure forever. For me I cannot thank the organisers enough for the experiance , Many memories thankyou
  15. Hi, Just a quick question I have a VIP ticket and wish to know how I get a VIP photo pass as I am very interested in the astronaut group photo? Thanks Mike
  16. Just have to ask any chance of getting Apollo 17 moonwalker Harrison Schmitt to make a apperance at Autographica this year ? The Apollo line up at the moment is excellent and very well done to the organisers for the guests so far. I know recently attempts were made to try and get him to visit the UK but to no avail and if anyone could get him to visit the UK it would have to be Autographica.
  17. Fantastic news ! Well done the organisers of Autographica
  18. I just wish to quote Buzz Aldrins current autograph fees for shows in the US and I believe the prices will be the same for the Autographica show or very similar. Buzz I believe will be one of the top guests of Autographica but a warning to start saving up now and searching for that special item to get signed. Much better to know now rather than in those last few weeks before Autographica 2012 being shocked by the fees involved for his autograph which is what happened last year and caused much debate. His current fees for 2012 quoted in US dollars are as follows: Personalization free ( with autograph purchase ) Base fee for autograph $400 3 Dimensional Items and Beta cloths ( Globes, models ) $500 Apollo 11 completion ( with Neil Armstrong alone OR both Armstrong and Michael Collins ) $1000 Apollo 11 completion ( with just Michael Collins ) $500 Gemini 12 crew completion ( with Lovell ) $500 Baseballs $1500 Books authored by Buzz Aldrin $250 Mission and date insription $50 each Additional Inscriptions ( up to 15 words total ) $50 per word Use XE.com to get current exchange rate to UK pounds You can now see Buzz will be a expensive purchase at Autographica and I strongly suggest saving up now to avoid the shock closer to the time. The above prices will be the same as above and I doubt will vary much from this in October 2012.
  19. Hi, Any Apollo space astronauts would be a huge attraction including staff. My list is very long but to see any would be fantastic and listen to their stories. Long trip across the pond for most being most are in their 70s and 80s now but anyone associated with this golden age of space travel would be a major attraction for me and many others im sure. My first autographica was 2011 cannot wait for the next.
  20. Any of the 24 who have flown to the moon would be great guests or any of the early russian cosmonauts to make up for Buzz and Carpenter would be great. Best of luck to the organisers cannot be easy when the top guests pull out
  21. The best replacement for Buzz would have to be Valentina Tereshkova. I have hotel and flights booked and cannot get a refund and for me this would be a ideal guest in my opnion.
  22. Great to see Buzz Aldrin coming ! Please could you post exact price for Buzz autograph extras when available ? I understand the base fee for his autograph is 225 GBP which is his current signing fee worldwide. I just need to know how much for extra words? Thanks Mike.
