  1. yes it does - big advert on the back page. i've posted the 3 new guests in the forum.
  2. Mark Good on you and thanks for taking up the offer - it is very much appreciated. However I have to go to New York for the weekend with work and won't be able to make Saturday - it is a little soon. Are you based in Milton Keynes - do you ever venture away - perhaps we could meet up in London or somewhere on your travels - or perhaps over the phone. An informal open meeting in a cafe wasn't quite what I had in mind but this is certainly better than nothing at all - so thanks for putting up the time. Kris
  3. LOL! No problem, I probably wasn't clear enough to start with. Guess it just shows how easy is to misunderstand the written word Maybe we should all take note of that one comment, it could just stop the war of words!!!! fair enough
  4. with respect no thanks - I'd rather do this face to face and get feedback from SM too - almost like a brainstorming session. If it ends up as a document we may as well submit this entire forum with all of the threads. Fair enough. It'd probably be a lot of work although (and apologies if I'm preaching to the converted here) I often find it's better to go into a meeting with at least an outline document for discussion so that no points are missed, rather than just turn up and see what happens. I'm sure you're aware of this too but having thought through some possible solutions in advance also helps rather than going in and saying "here's the problems what will you do about it?". Can save a lot of time. I know you're joking (I hope) but there's too much repetition, conflict and general abuse to make using the forum as a basis a good idea. The issues really need to be distilled and summarised into something coherent (and fairly brief). ok that makes sense - i thought you meant a document INSTEAD of a meeting...I'm all for collating a document in preparation for a meeting...otherwise valuable time can be wasted debating what is to be discussed. apologies for misunderstanding you.
  5. do you ever have anything constructive to say - you are exactly the type of person i am referring to in my previous post. You follow CQB around like some form of unwanted pet - slapping him on back when he makes a good comment - what is your purpose?
  6. and why is that? do "kids" not have valid opinions? do adults automatically have the ability to form sound arguements. i've read your posts and you have indeed made some valid points. unfortunately you have also been emotive and subjective at times which is never helpful during a debate. i'll point out that most of the people you have referred to as "kids" are infact over 18 and some have children of their own... but that is beside the point, EVERYONE on this forum has the right to argue or agree with you irrespective of their age. thanks for your comments. i think you have been clear and articulate in every post you have written. i hope you do not feel the need to keep repeating yourself as you could appear to be beligerant rather than constructive and i'm sure this is not what you're aiming for. no i think that it is very clear that adults do not automatically have the ability to form sound arguments but I would also have to debate how much the under 18 age-group would bring to a forum such as this. I think that you would have to agree with me that it is indeed frustrating trying to convey a point on here when some people obviously do not read your comments properly and are so blinkered they fail to see any other direction apart from their own...as you can see from my previous posts on other threads I have tried to see the opinion of other people and have been flexible with my own opinions - to my mind this is where the best ideas comes from. So you'll have to excuse my emotiveness and subjection to some posts - it's frustration more than anything else. If most of the people on here are indeed over 18 then perhaps some of them should act their age...simply saying what i say is wrong is not an argument, not does it construct any form of debate...if you notice I have always tried to reply to any form of constructive disagreement that has been aimed at me. I want to come across as a help rather than a hindrance and like I have said before I am prepared to put my money where my mouth is by giving up time and money to present my views to SM. i do appreciate what you are try to say. kris
  7. with respect no thanks - I'd rather do this face to face and get feedback from SM too - almost like a brainstorming session. If it ends up as a document we may as well submit this entire forum with all of the threads.
  8. again i have to say I'm not getting into a war of words here - some people i feel want me to. where is SM based - Birmingham is a fairly central location for a forum such as this as many people will be travelling from all over the country - I'm sure we could get a convention room at a hotel for this if it went ahead - again I'd be more than happy to share the costs.
  9. but it's so difficult to separate the 2 with vetting first...if SM think that this is a good idea - it's over to them - i can't get into an ageist debate - i'm too old. i have to go now and get on with some work. so addictive. kris
  10. it's not great practice to tell people to shut up or use profanity in your posts.
  11. and i think that this post says just about everything i need to know about you. really going now. And try not to forget it either! threatening manner too - you must be quite scary. Glad I'm going.
  12. I'm sorry but you aren't going to like this...an under 18 isn't going to bring the business or life experience to this type of forum. I think plenty of adolescent thoughts have already been posted on here. God I sound like an old man - but i really think this needs to be an adult forum. Please don't take this the wrong way.
  13. Not necessarily the case. You really need to know what worked just as much as what didn't when doing an analysis of this kind. I had a very enjoyable time although I wasn't there on Sunday or Monday. Yet I did see things which I feel could be improved upon and issues which I think could do with addressing for the future - especially from having followed all the comments over the last few days. I don't think there was anything drastically wrong with the systems in place, just that they maybe couldn't cope with the pressure they were put under on Sunday, but there are some simple ideas which would seriously help future events run even better. sure why not - invite 10 people to a forum - not wanting to be controversial and not wanting to offend anyone though but let's keep the age over 18 please.
  14. and i think that this post says just about everything i need to know about you. really going now.
  15. I certainly do appreciate that organising events are an absolute nightmare and they only way to better events is to get constructive feedback from customers - I think some of things I have to say would make the next event much better...then again SM may think that what I have to say is load of rubbish - it's totally up to them - just give us a real voice SM. Kris
  16. enough already - perhaps this is time for this to become a convention rather than a show - it is outgrowing itself. The ticketing system did not work - it's a fact. I'm not getting into a dispute with a kid online about this - far from going through puberty I am a 29 year old well respected businessman who knows a thing or 2 about good business practice. Nothing against you but I just don't have time to throw insults back and forth whilst trying to convince each other that each person is right about this. We just aren't going to agree are we? I have a problem with the way the show has been run...so I've made a new forum post where I've invited SM to meet or speak with me personally and the other people who complained so we can air our grievances like adults. My last post here - I have loads of work to do. You'll miss me when I'm gone. Kris
  17. Of course you don't mention any names - you must be far too nice for that. Hope you and your family enjoy spending the glorious amounts of money that you made over the weekend - must be a great feeling to "please" so many people - well done. Right i personally have had quite enough of your views Krisq! you've been airing them for days now!!!!! ok your upset, ok you had a bad time, ok you've said your piece now SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh and don't have a go at Rainbow! oh and for the record i think everyone who was involved with cm4 did fantastic jobs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like i said before I am quite within my rights to respond to comments directed at me and to air the problems I had with CM4. Have I told you to shut up for saying that you had a good time? Personally I'm fed up with people saying how amazing the event was - i disagree - which is why I've made my new forum post and am not going to be getting into anymore battles with the kids on here. I'm sure that you'll miss me.
  18. I've had enough of debating with kids and throwing insults about - although fun at first it gets a little tiresome and I'm busy - forums get so addictive. No matter what ANYONE says there were problems with CM4 - every knows that - especially Showmasters so here is my idea - why not get a live forum of complainers from here and meet up with them face-to-face. No point in involving the people who had such a "wonderful" time as they have no cross to bear. However I personally don't feel like I'm getting anywhere and would like to be heard - I have some useful points to make - and would like to help making your next event better - you can of course choose to ignore what I have to say! I am prepared to give up some of my time to meet with Showmasters people in person and would suggest that other complainers do the same - let's put our money where our mouths are and stop hiding behind a computer screen. No animosity, no attitude, no moaning...as a customer who appreciates what you are trying to do - I would like to help. My email address is krisg.lansdowne@virgin.net - please contact me and we can either chat on the phone or arrange to meet. Kris
  19. The majority of people pay for these things by credit card - so you wouldn't need that much cash - they could refund by cheque or refund by post after the event - plenty of options. Ticket per person or per autograph - matters not - it can be flexible. Would you book tickets to a concert and then perhaps decide you wouldn't go - the whole point in selling tickets would be to guarantee an autograph - if you were unsure if you wanted to go I am sure there are plenty of people who would snap the tickets up. Stallholders...around 50 to 60 in the middle of the hall - selling comics, autographs, videos etc etc - do you understand now? The shops I can't speak for but like I said some of the STALLHOLDERS were complaining. Putting thought into my arguments - don't be so silly and grow up a little.
  20. Of course you don't mention any names - you must be far too nice for that. Hope you and your family enjoy spending the glorious amounts of money that you made over the weekend - must be a great feeling to "please" so many people - well done. Excuse me, this is Mark and Jason's baby, not Mark's mam's. Back off her. dream on! the comment was directed at me and I am quite within my rights to reply

  22. how can it be an admin nightmare - they already sell tickets to the screenings so how would this be any different - I bought a Kane Hodder ticket - he didn't show I got my money back - simple as that. It SHOULDN'T be an admin nightmare to a company with an ounce of organisational skills. One ticket per autograph - simple as that. You don't buy a ticket if you can't make it! If the guest doesn't show or falls ill you refund the money - in the same way that you turn people away if they don't have a ticket. I know for a fact that a load of stallholders were really very unhappy about the chaos on Sunday...I know some of them quite well and they told me. Bonsai Trees for Dom??? I don't understand.
