  1. Lack of roster chicken. Now some injured ones have come back etc, and the fact they are working towards one brand again, they fired his ar*e.
  2. And whats that meant to me mister!! Dodgy character..but don't tell Lisa...
  3. Absolutely as the cost of the additional copies are paid for by the punter and not SM. The organiser has made no loss on the one photo taken has it? It is not fair one bit as those friends are getting it cheaper than people payig full price. Those people asking for dispensation when they choose to go to the event are being selfish. Your reasoning is complete tosh as the people who are impacted are the ones who truly matter - the fans. I am sure that the friends I will attend with would love to have a group shot with Patrick or Micheal as we all adore Smallville and Star Trek. We could then take it home, scan it, save it to a memory stick and get 10x8's perfectly printed off for £1.49 each. We may save money, but I would feel for those - Yes, I have a conscience - who went alone and saw others sharing the cost of a photo. To those people asking for reductions I ask this question...say that you are towards the back of a queue waiting for your turn to have a photo, and suddenly the session has overrun and had to stop with some people - including you - being refunded the money. Will you be upset/angry/p*ssed off? Or will you be magnanimous and say.."At least those families/couples got their group photos? Exactly, it will be the angry/upset/p*ssed of answer. Add onto that the people who may end up missing an autograph as the signing time has been eaten into? I brought this up as I know for a fact that the copies are brilliant if you scan the original with a basic colour scanner, save it to a memory stick and take it to a Photo Klick shop (or similar) to have it produced to 10x8 size for £1.49. No, go get a job Just playing I understand your point. Too Tall..am I going to have to bring the wet celery to CM13 young man? Dude, I would love a job but I am under restrictions to what I can go for until the end of the year (long story, won't bore you). I know I will be walking into a job in the new year. I just want to be able to b*tch and moan and back it up with an example.
  4. Okay then, what about those of us who are unemployed? Do we get help?
  5. First you read the above post, noting the time, date and word used to describe when that have been emboldened. Then you re-read your post. Then hopefully you will realise the fact that the Writer's Guild of America have gone on strike this past Monday at 0001 hrs, and Jason clearly says that the phonecalls were placed to him last night. Add in the fact the 5 to 7 hours time difference, and you may work out that what you have said is unreasonable tosh. How you can say most people won't get to see them when you can buy tickets at the door, and the early birds will in no way take up all of the VTs. Dude, I don't know you, but you seriously need to check the facts before spouting off complete and utter garbage at Showmasters because they inform the fans that they have been contacted by US Agents.
  6. Must remember to call Homeland Security to keep Lisa in Guantanimo Bay
  7. The egotistical part was in the ring and in the back. Some word coming down the pipe is that he loved his muscles just a little too much. Monkey King...the problem with the rather old and bulls*it Masterlock Challenge is that it has been used numerous times before in the WWE/WWF. Masters is a one trick pony with his size. Maybe someone who can perform in the ring will get the spot that Masters was given. The main point for someone gettting a belt around their waist is to build up their character. He coudl have held every title simultaneously and made no improvement in his ring character. He could have been better used than the Masterpiece persona.
  8. I am glad he has gone as he is reputed to be rather egotistical. During the recent UK tour he ignored the match run through and didn't sell a battered arm after the Taker worked on it. The Taker was yelling at him for ages before working him with stiff punches that bust his nose up. He then sold the arm injury!!
  9. As long as the chocolate is not a casualty Davey...
  10. Adam is definitely still working for a few weeks as I saw him recently. However, Nathan will be available as desperate housewives has shut down in support of the WGA..... Quite a number of shows have closed down, or are in the process of closing down as they need writers on set continuously to keep up to date. Desperate Housewives is one show, along with Grey's Anatomy that initially joined the strike on lunch breaks. The big reason why DH chose to stop filming the episodes already written was because the set was targeted by pickets who wanted to disrupt filming.
  11. Does one? Yes good fellow..one does Hey, it was 3.10am and I was knackered in the middle of paperwork...I came over all educated gov'nor...
  12. One presumes this is due to the WGA Strike?
  13. For the right event, certainly. Where would you be considering holding it?
  14. This guy is a great guest. Friendly and loves the fans. It's nice to see that Showmasters have been able to tie down some guests so far in advance of the event.
  15. I know the number of a good rodent killer... DO NOT GIVE HER IDEAS!!! Davey Andrea, how about this?
  16. I take it people realised that there were two episodes on this past Monday?
  17. Word coming out of Stamford today is that Y2J will return on the Raw after Survivor Series. Management do not want to overshadow the rerturn of Edge the night of the PPV.
  18. Superb. I met 3 of the cast at a conventionI helped organise in Bristol many years ago. All were brilliant guests. They were in the bar getting the beers in and one was blagging a fag as she had run out I so have to go to this. Top event SM.
  19. Having just started a 60 day suspension, it is no surprise that the WWE has done this. It is technically his third disciplinary issue, but the first one he wasn't suspended but sent to rehab. Personally, I think he was as wasted as Lex Luger was in the Narcissus gimmick - one they obviously copied with Marsters.
  20. I must admit that he sold the Stunner very well as well.
  21. You're a braver man than I (that, and I'm a woman) But I understand where you're coming from! I do not see it as brave. I see it as honest. Someone has said that some people do not choose to have children, which in some cases may well be true and only the parents will know that. But the matter of fact is that the parents who bring the children with them choose to do so. Someone will more than likely say that they couldn't leave them at home etc etc, but it is still their choice to attend an event. Once you start helping one section of attendees, or customers for a better word, then you have to look at helping all attendees/customers. Otherwise you will get a bad name for yourself. You could put a sound bet on some attendees at other events who offer the tye of deals being asked for, who are unhappy that they pay full price whilst someone wise pays £x to go in as an extra body. Single photos can be scanned, saved as a jpeg and taken to a photo shop to be professionally printed. So, if there is a group of four paying £20 for a photo plus £5 per extra person totalling £35..what is to stop them taking the photo, scanning it and saving it and getting 3 copies professionally developed for £1.49 each (current price at Photo Klick in Bristol). That would total £39.47 instead of £80. They have saved themselves alot of money where as single people are still paying full price. Where is the fairness in that? At the end of the day, the parent or guardian who brings a child to an event knowing the prices has to accept them. To plead special dispensation is wrong to other attendees.
  22. A question then. How come other UK signing events (not conventions) charge per photo (which is usually only one) not per person in the photo, when you say it would be unworkable at CM, LFACC or G-Mex? LLAP I know the ones you are probably on about, and from the point of view of someone who frequented many different events by many different organisers, the numbers of attendees is alot different. If you found out how many people went to each event, and who lined up for pre-purchased/enquired about photos etc, you will see quite a difference. At events that do not have as many guests, attendees or talks etc, then choppig and changing in photo sessions isn't as much as a problem. However, if you look at thet set up of Collectormania, London Film & Comic Con and G-Mex; then you will see a logistical nightmare chopping and changing for photo sessions. As I have previously mentioned, in my hometown I have helped organise and stage events/coventions. I have seen them grow and the logistics change. That is one of my main points of why changing the payment structure will penalise people who do not have children etc. At the end of the day, as my FULL post says below - rather than the summary you have just quoted - if people decide to bring their children, then it is their choice. Showmasters introduced a payment/charges structure that is fare to anyone choosing to come to events. Changing it will more than likely have an adverse effect and possibly hurt future events by loss of income generated. As I have said before, I do sympathise with the families. However, I myself am currently unemployed and get no preferencial treatment. I have to save to come to events, yet I am in a similar position to families with children in that I am in very limited income. This debate will no doubt go on and on, with arguments both for and against change.
  23. There are pros and cons with your suggestion. It would help families if prices were reduced for younger children. However, why should people who do not have children pay full price when those with children pay lesser prices or nothing at all for children? Some people on here have said about single people, more specifically adults, earning the money and parents paying for the children. Well, why should people who earn the money such as single or childless couples/adults be any different? What about those of us on minimum wage, or on unemployment benefit, who save up to come to events and have to pay full price? Once a business, and that is what the vast majority of conventions/signing events are, starts basically penalising one group of people by giving free or reduced priced photo sessions to children, then you get into the realms of people being unhappy. This is what will happen if you start reducing it for families. At the end of the day, if someone chooses to take their children, then it is their choice and they should bare the brunt of costs. Now, I know someone will come back and say that they only get one photo. But this is where the other problems come in...logistics. As any photographer will tell you, having to change between number of people in the shots means changing things on a camera. This inturn will mean longer time taken, and thus less people getting through the photo sessions. So, this will impact on other people going to the events. Another logistical nightmare for an event like Collectormania, LFACC & G-Mex is time. With the guests swapping between talks, photo sessions and signing; time is a premium. At an event like Eclipse, you are able to set aside specific signing periods, photo sessions and talk sessions. You will often find full weekend conventions like Eclipse will have specific photo sessions for multiple person photos, as well as not multiple person photos. I remember a Buffy/Angel convention I went to several years ago and had 3 sessions over the weekend to incorporate single shots, multi person shots and a group guest shot. So, in summary: 1. Lowering/Removing prices for families will penalise other people, which is wrong. 2. Logistically, at an event like CM, LFACC or G-Mex it is practically unworkable. 3. At conventions like Eclipse it can work.
