MalleOz
Navy CIS, CSI, CSI: Miami & CSI: New York, House, Ghost Whisperer, Lost, Las Vegas and 24 is some of those shows the danes is watching most - Both on TV and DVD. I work in a DVD store and we're selling many of those shows on box-sets.
DoctorWhogirl
I agree with "Malle Oz" that those shows are very popular in Denmark!! Also ER and Prison Break! But I believe that there is also a lot of danes who eg. watch Doctor Who eventhough this has not really been shown on TV here (only like the first season of the new Doctor Who)! But still I think that you should hold in mind that there are many cult shows such as Doctor Who which are very popular among many people who would be the types to attend a "convention" such as Collectormania (including myself!)! So I guess what i'm saying is that the tvshows that Malle Oz mentions are things that a lot of people watch on TV and then there are things like doctor who and torchwood which alot of people watch e.g. online or on the international BBC channel: BBC Entertainment! Christa_Jaina
There's also Gilmore Girls and Stargate both SG 1 and Atlantis. Friends are also still a very popular show, shown two episodes a day from Monday to Friday, There's a lot of shows running, I don't know though which is the most seen But I do agree with those that have already been mentioned :)
Mr. Mundi
According to Gallup, the most seen shows are as follows. Ratings: Week 21/Week 32 Midsomer Murders Rating: 758/562 Desperate Housewives Rating: 556/- Blue Murder Rating: -/189 Waking the Dead Rating: 245/172 CSI: Miami Rating: 149/- Bones Rating: 108/137 The Mentalist 133/- CSI: Crime Scene Investigation Rating: 95/43 Prison Break Rating: -/91 CSI: NY Rating: 86/64 Judge John Deed Rating: -/86 Criminal Minds Rating: 133/83 Ugly Betty Rating: -/73 Also, since Shannen is coming to Collectormania London I wouldn't fail to mention, that TV2 (one of the channels everybody in the country can see) is starting rerun no. 24 (or so it seems) of Beverly Hills 90210 tomorrow. I think they have been sending the entire serie back to back since it stopped being made. Don't know if anybody is actually seeing it anymore though. Edit: I guess they found out enough is enough. The show is no longer scheduled for a rerun. Edited for wrong title. Edited August 18, 2009 by Mr. Mundi
DoctorWhogirl
Just a note to the poll from Gallup that not all TV shows were aired during that time; e.g. Lost (I think!)
Mr. Mundi
I used the poll from both week 21 and 32 because I wanted to get the present ratings and the ratings from a time when most shows hadn't stopped for the summer. Lost is being showed now (in these weeks), but apparently it doesn't get enough ratings to make the top 10 of the particular channel. And since Lost is being aired on Channel 6, then I would say that ratings for the show have to be pretty low. Don't get me wrong, I like the show myself, but it is just not very popular according to the ratings. Perhaps those who are interested have bought it on DVD. DoctorWhogirl
I think you could be right about the DVD because the show is really popular and I also think that a lot of people watch Lost on the internet before it airs in Denmark because at some point the stopped airing it and we got way behind the episodes airing in the US at some point I think we were over 1 season behind... But of course this poll shows what the entire danish population sees but if we think of the people coming to this event they might not see e.g. Midsomer Murders, I mean a lot of older people watch this show. (I watch it though but none of my friends watch Midsomer murders) :)
Mr. Mundi
What are you basing the "really popular"-line on? Personally I find it quite difficult to generalise about others TV-habbits. For instance of the shows mentioned I only see The Mentalist, Lost, 24 and Stargate, but it is only people from Lost and Stargate I would actually care to meet - well and then Kiefer Sutherland. None of the actors from the other shows mean anything to me - unless they happen to have been in an other series or movie that I like. I have watched single episodes of most of the other series mentioned, but I just find them to boring without any new edge.
DoctorWhogirl
I base the "really popular" upon the fact that I talk to ALOT of people about TV shows and so on and therefore have a pretty good outline on what my generation likes to watch when it comes to TV shows! I am not saying that because these shows are seen by a lot of people (young or old) that people would like to meet the actors! And I would stil claim that a lot of TV shows have a bigger fanbase than what the galluppoll shows because today a lot of younger people watch newest episodes online... We should work together on getting the lost people here then! (think we agree on that one?!)
Railok
Getting the right Lost guest could really bring in the people, I take it. Michael Emerson, anybody?
DoctorWhogirl
Yeah love Michael Emerson!! He is just cool! But also love (from a fangirl view) Josh Holloway, Henry Ian Cusick and Naveen Andrews... But you know most of the Lost cast are great! There is Dominic Monaghan as well oh to many to choose from :)
Railok
Dominic would be a good choice actually, bringing two fandoms (Lost and Lord of th Rings) that are very popular.
