I'm posting in this thread as it's the next show coming up but it could apply to all cons and shows. It would be worth joining all hotel reward schemes, say for instance the Hilton group, the more you book and stay the more reward points you get and if you go to a lot of these things then the loyalty points soon mount up giving you maybe a free nights stay. You might not be able to use them for a convention but a free night somewhere may come in handy. I'm not affiliated with these schemes in any way but I did join one not long back after I'd stayed at a few hotels around the country and earned a free night. Too late for this one but the others...
