Arkham
The BBC and NBC have announced that the BBC will have first refusal on all series being shown in the UK from Season 3 onwards. This means that Sci-Fi, Sky etc will not get first showing if the BBC do the deal. All future episodes have been agreed at a pre established price. Arkham
Fingers crossed the BBC pick them up. Don't want to lose another series to Sky Taking into account that the BBC brokered this deal off of their own back, I cannot see them brokering the deal and then saying..NO THANKS. This is a deal done in all but the announcement. Once Season 3 gets officially commissioned, you will then see the BBC announce that the series will be first shown there. As season 2 has been picked up, they have already announced that they will show it. I think it is more a case of the BBC doing the deal subject to it being commissioned by the makers, and the BBC wanting to rub Sky's noses in it. One upmanship shall we say. Keiralouise
Also the fact that the prices HAVE been pre arranged means that the BBC can afford it and the NBC can't suddenly sky rocket the prices so the BBC can't afford it and Sky will pick it up. It's also good for the NBC and the creators because since it's on terrestrial TV everyone has a chance to see it, up the ratings and for the show to get more popularity and sales on dvd instead of a more selected audience for those that have Sky. Better press for them, especially since the BBC is well renowned over the world for it's broadcasting. =]
