"In a joint meeting today with the RAW and SmackDown rosters in the United Kingdom, in Sheffield, Vince McMahon announced that within the next several weeks, a new drug testing policy will be implemented in which performance enhancing drugs, such as steroids, etc., recreational drugs, as well as abuse of prescription drugs will be banned.

In addition to the new drug testing procedure, there will also be an emphasis on cardiovascular examinations.

The specifics of the drug policy will be announced over the next several weeks. More details to follow. Check with WWE.com for the latest information"

Its interesting, I also read on Wrestlezone that Eugene was suspended for taking drugs. After everything that has happened in the last week with Eddie, and all the problems he dealt with in his life being scrutinised, this absolute tool of an employee goes and O-D's on drugs and hospitalises himself.

Well, now you know why Nick Dinsmore was cast to play Eugene - the man really is retarded.

Oh, and while I am on a roll, for those of you who have seen the Ultimate Warrior DVD, we hear Vince talk about a drugs policy that the Warrior violated in 91 and was supposedly sacked for it. So I ask Vinnie Mac now, What happened to your drugs policy from 14 years ago that got the Warrior fired???

Knowing Vince it means that certain individuals will conveniently avoid such testing.

Anything to protect the WWE, this new drug testing policy could be nothing more than an elaborate cover up in order to appease the governing bodies in sport and clean up the WWE's image.

I will always remember a few years ago, a big deal was made of WCW testing for drugs and Scott Steiner would usually miss the tests for some reason...

But this is nothing new, Vince was on trial years ago for dishing out steroids, and was acquitted of any charges, but not before the WWE was dragged through the mud. Hence, that was why guys like Bret Hart and Ric Flair were pushed at the time and guys like Warrior and Bulldog phased out.

But, years later we are back in the same position - the bigger, more muscly guys are being pushed - HHH, Batista, Brock Lesnar etc. Not accusing anyone as nobody knows for sure, but its interesting to see how over a period of time Vince has gone back to pushing the pumped up guys...

I still find it interesting that on the Warrior DVD Vince mentions how the Warrior violated a WWE drugs policy and was sacked - my question is what happened to that drugs policy when Eddie, Regal and others were addicted???

The answer??? Damage limitation, Vince has been doing it for years when tragedys like this happen.

Recap of the video of the drug testing meeting Vince McMahon held with wrestlers in Sheffield, England;

Vince was standing in a room with all of the WWE talents, both Raw and Smackdown. Vince opened by saying that he wanted to tell the wrestlers about the policy before it was leaked.

He said they were instituting a drug policy in the next few weeks. He said performance-enhancing drugs along with abuse of prescription drugs would be included in the testing, and that the testing will be done by an independent testing company.

He said anyone under a full time contract will be subject to testing. An unidentified wrestler asked if the test would show that a wrestler was taking more than the prescribed amount of a prescription drug. Vince said it would, and that it would be fairly easy to determine if someone was abusing their prescription. He said that testing would be "across the board," and that there would be no special privileges for anyone. A wrestler then asked if the testing would be random and Vince said it would be unannounced and frequent. He said that Vince McMahon would be the second person to find out about an infraction, following only the wrestler himself, and that there would be no excuses for a failed test.

The unnamed wrestler was 'allegedly' Kurt Angle. :blink:
