I miss all of you and the short but great time we had talking together. Of course if you have more questions you would like to ask me, I would love to answer them for you Yes, I promise to check back on the Forum and keep in touch with you all! Missing you, Leslie
  2. To All the Wonderful People I Got to Meet: Thank you for making my visit to the UK so amazingly wonderful. I have all of you to mention: 1) All the People from Showmasters, you are the most Friendliest Organizers of Conventions I have ever meet. You welcomed me to your Country and made sure I was never without any needs. Thank you for making me feel part of your Family. 2) To All the Fans, it was so amazing to meet you all. In the States, I might meet People from other States but at the London Film and Comic Con it was wonderful to meet People from other Countries as well as my Fans from all parts of the UK. I will always remember this trip with Fond Memories. Please let us stay in touch. Thank you one and all, Leslie Hoffman
  3. I leave the States tomorrow. I am so excited of meeting all of you. Please come by and we will talk and laugh Leslie
  4. Hi Andrew, I would have kept trying, seriously. While trying to be an actor or stunt person maybe I would have picked something else behind the camera to do, to at least survive out here. I have always loved the Film Industry and never was or will let anything stop me. That is just the way I am. Always reach for your goal and never give up, but if Life goes differently than what you were hoping for at least you can say you tried. May your Life give you everything you want and see you soon, Leslie
  5. Hi Richard, In a previous post I talked about how much I like Wes Craven so I will tell you an embarrassing story about a Director that is great. I was working on Star Trek: Voyager doubling Torres in "Blood Fever", the Director was absolutely wonderful....always complimenting, nothing seemed to upset him and I walked away feeling job well done and it had been an usual stunt I had to do as well. The next day I am talking to fellow stunt man Tom Morga (who will be in London as well) saying how much I loved working with Director on Voyager and Tom replied, "Yes Garak is really nice to work with....." "What!!!!" I said that is Andrew Robinson directing?!?!?!?" "Yes, I didn't you know it was him?" "No, I have only seen him in makeup!!!!!!" I worked on the episode a day or so later and made sure to say "Hi" to Andy Leslie
  6. Hi Jason, Besides doing Nightmare on Elm Street. I have been in other Horror Films as well. Motel Hell (I tried to drown a girl) Hounds of Hell (Set on fire by a naughty puppy) The Car (chased by the car and it also spooked horses that ran over us) If have been kicked, stabbed, shoot, phaser shoot in the back but as all stunt people I keep coming back for more Leslie
  7. Again a great question and the answer is YES!!!!! I was asked to drive a motorcycle and lay it down. I am NOT a motorcycle rider. I love sitting on the back and riding. Actually I do know how to drive an ATV (4 wheels) so I understand shifting. The bottom line is I am not a daredevil. The risk that I would cause to myself and also endangering the rest of the Cast and Crew, is not worth all the money in the World. Life is too short anyway, I want to enjoy it. I want to come and see LONDON!!!!!!! And that is why a smart stunt person will say no to a stunt they can not do. Leslie
  8. Believe it or not there is no difference. Stunts are real and possibly dangerous if not done or set up correctly. The big advantage is when I work for New Voyages, I am only an hour away from Home. They film in Northern New York and Saranac Lake, NY is even further North. I love the Adirondack Mountains, you may not get great cell reception or internet but you can see the Stars (I am not referring to Actors) at night and it reminds me how lucky I was to grow up in such a Beautiful Place. See you soon, Leslie
  9. Probably the most dangerous and technical one was on the movie "1941" I was doubling Wendie Jo Sperber as the sidecar split off of the motorcycle at night. No problems there but then on another night we had to do the jump into the back of a truck/lorry and each time the stuntman drove the motorized sidecar down the loading dock, right before the jump we would stall out. He finally tried to make the jump but we stalled at the top of the ramp and slammed right into the back of the lorry. The stuntman who was strapped in flipped over and went to the ground (which was padded) I slide onto the lorry. Had we hit any lower we both would have been killed! So they could not get the shot and told us to come back tomorrow night. Now that is something to think about all day!!!!!! When we got there, it turned out that the petrol/gas line to the engine was between the board that was the seat for the stuntman and the metal pipes that the board was laying on. This means we kept running out of petrol but each time the stuntman got out of sidecar the petrol would flow to the engine again!!!! A VERY dangerous mistake that could have cost two lives I guess it was time for either of us. We did the stunt two more times, until they got it for camera. We are both here to talk about it. Leslie
  10. I was in three (sort of) Hardy Boys episodes: Defection to Paradise: Part 1 doubling for Pamela Franklin Defection to Paradise: Part 2 doubling for Pamela Franklin (on the boat) Campus Terror: doubling Valerie Bertinelli (I think one amusement park ride and definitely the Ferris Wheel) Leslie (sssshhhhhhhhh don't tell anyone I remember the answer, I was a mere "stunt baby"
  11. Hi all, I thought that you might like to look at a couple of other pages..... This is from Memory Alpha, Tom Luckau created it for me and was honoured by having one of the best pages: http://memory-alpha.org/wiki/Leslie_Hoffman and my Friend Matt Boardman has been working on my own website: http://www.stuntrek.com Please let me know what you think Leslie
  12. I have had bump and bruises, that is to be expected as any Professional Athlete will tell you. As you said in your last line "we do a really good job" which means, we must be able to get up and do the stunt over and over again until the Director gets what he wants or need for the project. Over the years, all stunt people start to slow down due to continuous trauma to their bodies. Some go on to be Stunt Coordinators, some just have to retire out of the Business. We are not Daredevils who do a job once and end up in a hospital for months, indeed we perform to bring enjoyment to you. With out you our audience, there would be no need for Actors or Stuntpeople. I am getting so excited to meet all of you! Leslie
  13. There were probably close to twenty stunt men and women standing in front of the Terminal Window when the nose of the plane came through. All of us diving for cover. Though it looked like a crowd scene, there were no Extras in that particular instance do to the flying glass. In reality we were on a Sound Stage and the "nose of the plane" was on the back of a truck facing backwards. On action the driver put the truck into reverse and drove the nose through the tempered glass windows. Even candy glass or tempered glass can cut you, so one must be very careful working around "breakaways" Thank you, I love answering questions, they helped me share my career with all of you. Leslie
  14. Hi Nicky, I love Wes Craven as a Director and his idea of "Nightmare on Elm Street" was original idea just like "Scream", "Friday the 13th" and "Halloween". Knowing what happen to him with New Line Cinema and how little money he has received from the "NOES" Franchise, it hurts me to see what happens to people in Hollywood. I really don't know how to answer the first two questions because I personally am afraid of sequels and prequels being as good as the original and remakes are not much better. I do not think I will be on Scream 4, but one never knows........... As for being the Queen of England I enjoyed every moment I was on the set. Leslie came up to me and said "Leslie that is a nice sounding name" the only thing I could think of that quick was "Yes, I think so Leslie" and Ricardo comes up to me when I walked on the set and said "Hello Leslie". He remembered me from "Fantasy Island" (another passing that makes me quite sad) The funny thing was, they wanted me to wave my left hand to the side of my face, to hide it and I told somebody that Royalty waves with the right hand. "Hey this is a movie wave with the left", so I did. It wasn't said in anger but it had to be done that way to film the stunt. Leslie
  15. That is a very interesting question. For me the one to be proud of was my 24 meter (78') high fall into water on the "Love Boat". They had been looking for a stunt woman to do this, but all had refused. If I refused as well then they would have put a wig on a stunt man to double an actress. I took the job and actually a stunt man jump with me at almost the same time as well doubling the actor. The episode was called "Oh Dale". The young Actor not my Actress came up to me afterwards and congratulated me on a stunt well done. That young Actor was John Ritter just at the point that the show "Three's Company" started to air on TV. Thinking of his kindness to me that day and the unfortunate early passing of John makes this whole story bittersweet for me and I miss him greatly. The job I enjoyed the most is even harder. Each set is different and therefore one can enjoy it for different reasons. Remington Steele, Fantasy Island, Star Trek: Deep Space 9 and Star Trek: Voyager I work on several episodes so you become Family with the Cast & Crew, M*A*S*H because they invited newcomers in like they were Family (I was already seated at lunch and someone tapped my shoulder) It was Harry Morgan and he asked if he could sit next to "ME" and have lunch. It was wonderful. Wes Craven, I worked with on three movies, Nightmare on Elm Street, Deadly Friend and Scream 2. Always respectful to everyone. Every time that I have worked for Wes he will compliment me on how well I did the stunt. Amazing, here is a Horror Director whom is such a Gentleman and yet there have been other shows where the Directors were just miserable. We can talk more when I get there about the Industry. Again great question, Leslie
