  1. Hay everyone i just want to say it take us all to keep things alive , we love these events and we do what ever we can to keep them going and even well after the tv shows have stopped being made we keep on trying to keep it in peoples minds and keep on trying to get the guest people have not see or are rare , but there is over 800 views on this thread alone and after i responded only one post and and that did not even talk about the points i made about you the fans helping us all to keep these events strong so we can keep them running , the thing is this event loses money we spend more on it that it brings in and each year it gets harder and harder to keep it running , we love running them and if we had to stop we know that we would not meet some of the guests in the future at a none Stargate show so we do need to work together if we all care about keeping the Chevron events happening.

we will do our bit here but we do need you the fans to help us so please keep on getting the word out to as many fans as you can and think about it this way its now only once a year and its the only please in the world not where Stargate fans can hang out with fellow fans so we have something rare here and its worth looking after, so if you have not been to a Chevron event in a few year then way not pop in to the next one and help keep something that a lot of fun alive for some years to come , just a thought for everyone on new years , have a great night everyone and a great 2015

People are getting worried that the event will be cancelled this year because of the lack of a hotel code and some of your comments, Jason. Please, please can you confirm that it is definitely happening? For me, it's about celebrating the show and meeting good friends and I really do understand the need to have more people coming, but that's not going to happen if there's any doubt about the event taking place.

  2. I don't know what anyone else thinks, but in my opinion the way we've had to book hotels for the event this time is not great. This company has block booked all the rooms in local hotels, whereas last time we were able to book independently. Sadly, I've had to cancel my booking and because it was within a month of the event they tried to take all my money from me (nearly £300). They did finally agree to refund me less 20% booking charge (which I wouldn't have had to pay if I booked through, say, Booking.com) but I'm still chasing my refund nearly 3 weeks on.

Please don't do this again. It's more expensive and not nearly so flexible for those of us who might have to cancel for whatever reason.

  3. 1. I loved the green screen especially the one where you could be put inside a Replicator wall. Pleas bring this back next year for 8.2 with possibly some other backgrounds.

    2. The screening room was a good idea especially when there was a wait to get pictures taken. it gave you somewhere to sit en stead ow waiting in line so again this should be brought back for 8.2

    3. It needs to be made clear at the beginning of each afternoon when the chats start that once you have a seat you keep that seat all day. there were people who got up to got to private encounters or to go to the loo and came back to find their seat had been taken. so more emphasis needs to be taken on making it clear to people that they cant seat swap for every chat.

    4. can the stage be man just a couple of inches higher for those sitting further back even with the side screens couldn't always see especially when people in-front were taking pictures with large cameras or tablets. many of us think just making the stage a couple of inches higher will solve the problem of people being able to see the guests especially for shorter people and will also help with getting clearer pictures.

5 is there any chance of either having a picture on the wall at the end of each queue to make it clearer who's queue you are standing in or have it explained on the Friday night opening ceremony who's queue belonged to who. many people got confused especially once the lines got who who they were waiting in line for.

    6. is there any way we can get more dealers stalls in the dealers room. there isn't the largest choice of stuff to buy at chevron especially for those of us who have been coming for several years. In the past we have had the person who sells the stargate CD's and someone who sells Autographs. is there any chance of getting these back for 8.2?

    7. could we pleas have an A5 size time table upstairs either outside the hall or by the redge desk. people didnt always carry their time tables around with them and also it would make the order of guest signings more clear is there was a large timetable that everyone could read.

Thank you and i cant wait for 8.2

Thanks for this (number 3). It was us who had our seats taken during a guest encounter. Nearly spoiled the day but Too Tall was brilliant and sorted it out.

  4. 1) I have to agree with several others that the autograph and photo op sessions were a little chaotic, since I originally didin't go in with much of a strategy. It would have been nice to have them calling people in blocks, especailly for autographs. Racing back and forth was not fun - and a friend I was with who has mobility issues did not have an easy time of it with the hotel layout. It would also have been helpful to have signs behind the guests during autos - when the halls got really crowded it was hard seeing whose line was whose especially since several guests moved. A few more chairs in the autograph hall would also have been nice - my friend I was helping had trouble standing for long periods of time.

    2) Seating during the talks - staggered seats would have been nice - I'm quite short and had trouble seeing at times. Also, I know its a sticky issue, but my friend and I had some trouble with the disability seating. I realize that gold should get preference (and we were gold), but several crew members on Friday night and Saturday were quite rude about seating. While we didn't get seats in the front row (and weren't going to take them), we pretty much had seats pointed out to us several rows back and were told to sit there.

I quite liked the way the crew pointed out seat rows. It did mean people sat more or less in the rows for their seat numbers and stopped the scrum for the very front seats. They weren't rude to us at all - just doing their job.

  5. Yvie explained the table order to us the other day.

If you take the schedule and turn it through 90 degrees clockwise, you get the guest order.

    Simples.

That takes a mathematical brain to work out! lol!
