  1. I agree with you, it would not take very long to acknowledge you, maybe a handshake and ask you how you are.

For £25.00 i did expect more. He was open queue by 11am. Ridculous and when you say its a money making conveyer belt you are spot on.

But hey, there are people who will say they expected this and didnt expect more, but that doesnt mean its right. What we received was nothing short of a hello, thanks for your money and goodbye at most.

Other guests such as Karen Allen and Erika Eleniak showed how it should be done. People blame the agent, yet has Shatner got a voice? Can he not say anything?? Course he can, just didnt want to.

Of course it's not right. But at the end of the day you pay your money and make your choice. If you know you're going to be treated like that, you don't have to go and fork out money, but if you choose to go you've not a lot to complain about really.

The only way things could poosibly ever improve is if the punters stop turning up. And that's already starting to happen. Many people are fed up with what Showmasters events have turned in to and they're staying away.

So the announcer all day was saying, "If you want to meet William Shatner Captain Kirk he is now signing at................."

This may suggest that you actually get to meet him, rather than walk past him. You can all talk about expectations but this didnt help. If these boards are the only place you can get to hear Shatners experience is the way it is, its no wonder people are gutted as not everyone reads it.

Its not SM's fault but Shatner was a let down, but they do say never meet your heroe's.

  2. Youve missed the point, the point is people are unaware of how much it is to obtain his signature, so after spending £35.00 to get in, expenses to get to Heathrow, staying in a hotel whilst there, £90.00 is a lot to spend on one guest.

No-one has indicated that Buzz's signature is not valuable just questioned after all these expenses whether its affordable. There is a big difference. Buzz is a great guest, no-one has even mentioned or questioned that.

At the end of the day it comes down to affordability.Oh and the reference made by someone comparing Shatner to Buzz was an attempt at humour, it wasnt a serious comparison. Please.

  4. anyone who expected personalisations or a photo was not being realistic, we knew that hed be rushed through its just common sense sorry, all these "rushed through" comments make me laugh because what did you expect!!!???

well to be fair it was being announced all day at the event, "if you wish to meet William Shatner he is now signing........."

this would suggest you get to meet him, wouldnt it?????????

  5. Its a hard decision for me between 3 guests but Karen Allen pips it. Robert Englund, Karren Allen and Erika Ekeniak were all fantastic to meet. Cannot be reccommended higher. The talk and treat you like people on their level not like those certain guests who think they are above.

Karen was still looking gooooooood!! Talked to her for at least 5 mins about if theres an Indy 4 coming. She said she didnt know but she was supposed to be in it. Me thinks she knows something more.

SHATNER take note, Allen was worth £25. Thats how its supposed to be done!

  6. im sorry, you guys are weird. He may not spell right but he makes more of a point than the rest of you put together.

The guy on the pa system at the show said all day, "if you wish to meet William Shatner he is signing.............."

Well if walking up to his table to be ushered on without so much as a hello is called meeting him..........??? Thats what we expected and what it was advertised as. The PA announcer did not say, "if you wish to be rudely blanked and ripped off.........walk past Shatner".

I knew he was like this as I was fortunate to read this forum before I went, but many did not. Thats not their fault and you cannot blame them for being gutted.

One of you guys just said, "theres always one", well make it two. I have got a signed picture of Shatner but the experience was a let down for a lot of people.

One thing though, you wont get an appology as he has your money now and doesnt care. And as for blaming the agent?? whats that about, he can talk you know! He can object...........

No excuses he is a first class bosom.

By saying if he stopped to talk to everyone then not everyone would get to see him??? How long does it take to say, "Hi hope you are ok, where are you from?" quick hand shake then off u go! Not long. NEWS FLASH, HE HAD MORE THAN 800 IN ONE HOUR!!!!!!!!!!!! MONEY MAKING IS ALL THAT HES INTERESTED IN. HELLO????????????

  7. everyone is entitled to their own opinions and my opinion is that Shatner is the worst guest ive sort of met. To turn up and leech everyone for as much money as possible without providing anything in return is disgusting. I had no idea that he was like this and its ok to blame his agent but to be fair, he employs her!

£25.00 off say 3000 signatures on Saturday makes a whopping £75000. I would never reccommend meeting him to anyone nor would i ever wish to go through that again. What a p****!!!

I got the old, "thanks for coming" directed in my general direction and was then pretty much expected to, bugger off. David Carradine seemed rude but he at least personalised my photo and let me take his picture.................

    OI SHATNER! GET A LIFE!

SM please stay clear in future to stop other people being ripped off.

  8. He did exactly the same to me, when i got to the front of the line he was arguing with his agent, was almosy unaware i was even there. He didnt seem with it at all. Still i am fairly happy with my signature but he isnt anywhere near as pleasant to meet as Englund or Eleniak and Karen Allen was fantastic. Dont get me started with s***ner.
