  1. For anyone that has time to produce a printout, this may assist with your weekend at the show. It's up to date with the information on the forum today but please do be aware that schedules can change during the event and any onsite area boards should be checked for anything you specifically want to do.

    Have fun everyone :)

EDIT here is a pdf version to use instead which should respect the formatting https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5WymNp89_rebUktYTE3aXpYNmc/edit?usp=sharing

This can be double sided printed for easy referencing in your pocket

  2. Kurt Sutter who writes and stars in Sons of Anarchy has written on twitter that he wants to visit London and combine in to meet SOA fans.

I would love to meet any of the main cast of SOA. To name only a few:

Kurt's real-life wife Katey Sagal who I've loved since Married with Children and has of course voiced Leela in Futurama

Charlie Hunnam (who has also recently been in Pacific Rim)

Ryan Hurst (who has been in a number of shows including Medium)

and naturally Ron Perlman who has been in so many scif/cult shows/films.

  3. Loved this event over the weekend. Alexis Denisof was fabulous, lovely, polite. Excellent guest, as were they all. Never did get the lottery numbers from Jeff Ricketts though ! Spontaneously bought a photo with Brad Bell and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing Husbands. The whole event has made me raid my piggy bank to go again and upgrade to silver next year.

  4. The professional photoshoots taken are now also instant prints on high quality printers so you can walk out of the shoot immediately with your photograph. Remember to bring something with you to carry them in afterwards so you don't get them bent on the journey home. As others have pointed out there maybe a number of reasons that guests are unable to carry out a daily amount of over the table shoots (migranes etc - but maybe able to have the lighting set to something more manageable in a staged, restricted timing, photoshoot)

  5. All the travelling information is here http://www3.hilton.com/en/hotels/united-kingdom/hilton-birmingham-metropole-hotel-BHXMETW/maps-directions/index.html Even I've walked it before on crutches, I wouldn't recommend it if you're in pain/unfit as there's not a lot of options for sitting down en route. However for physically able people it's absolutely doable through the NEC. But the courtesy bus is the lifesaver, but bear in mind it only arrives/departs twice an hour.

  6. Having spotted Carl on the Stepping Out dance programme this week, I understand the change of day if he's dancing live on a Saturday. His girlfriend looked like she was having a great time, but he seemed very out of his comfort zone. Hope they continue to stay in the show long enough to ask him how it's going at Boxingmania

  7. If I hadn't been crewing, I would have happily paid £10 to go to Danny's talk. The man is a Hollywood legend and that's all there is to it

This. I definitely would have paid £10 for a 45 minutes talk. Definitely a great opportunity to ask questions about a number of films. Many people were asking him about 2012, Saw and Predator which were all scif/horror related (not the expected Lethal Weapon). It maybe that the people who wanted to see him clashed with photos going on.
  8. Another small query which came up on the forum yesterday for anyone who has booked a room for 3 people like we did at the Hilton please check your bookings as ithose who were given a twin room with a rollaway are now being told the hotel will not accomodate 3 in a room & they are having to change you to a double room with a rollaway and charging an extra £10 per night for the priviledge which is bumping this already very expensive hotel up even more to £98 per night.

Why this was not advised at the beginning i dont know but the Hilton actually does not have any proper triple rooms like the Radisson but you wont get your third in a room if you have it down as a twin apparently. Not quite sure how this will work in there were 3 guys in a room as sure they wont want to share a bed but best to check it out as it has caused confusion the last few days.

Massive Events were only advertising 1 person or 2 person occupancy on http://massiveevents.../info.php?venue The Hilton Birmingham only has family rooms in the double executive rooms in general as these are the rooms with sofa beds and are for children as the additional guests. The twin executive rooms have an actual sofa that does not convert. If they are allowing a rollaway bed for normal rooms to be operated then that's at the discretion of the hotel and the £10 additional charge is to cover their costs and probably breakfast for the 3rd person and is the Hilton's own charge. If you do a general search for Hilton rooms on their own website you'll see how much a non-convention room is in comparison to what is being charged.
  9. If there are still rooms left at all at the hotel, Mark should be able to hopefully get them to add another block of rooms onto the convention code. It might just take a few days (especially as they'll barely be back from Chevron).

As there's no Bitten this year I've just been talked into attending, so I'm rather hoping there will be more rooms available at the convention rate otherwise my budget is going to be hopeless. I've just gone to book them online and nothing is available below £150 a night. Although in honesty I can't remember when the tickets/hotel codes were first announced, so it could be that the rooms have disappeared.
  10. Glad to hear you've sorted it, but I would have suggested it would be easier to transfer the money to your friend directly for her to withdraw and bring to the show. It is possible to pay in cash at the signing desk, or the cash desk just before it if the guest has one.

  11. For weekend convention the main gaps in the day would be if you are not getting photoshoots. Talks tend to be on both afternoons and signing/autograph sessions are generally scheduled for the morning. Depending on the amount of attendees for autographs, you *may* get all your autos done in one morning, but this will be done in badge number order and could rollover to the second day. I tend to arrive early on a Friday and book a treatment for Friday rather than risk having time during the Saturday/Sunday.
