1. My one suggestion for this event, apart from guests, is to please no restriction on guests dedicating items or being allowed to photograph the guests as they sign. Also it would be appreciated by many fans (although obviously not all) to restrict the number of items signed by one person - but of course if there's money to be made....

Looking forward to hearing the dates and guests.

Thanks Jason and Co - I'm already getting far too excited about this already!

I'm not sure if you're talking about Empire Day or Celebration Europe. I have feeling you're talking about CE.

At ED I'm unaware of SM making any restrictions on guests dedicating items or on the taking of photos. I certainly saw no signs nor as a member of crew was I ever asked to restricted either.

But as I say I think you're requesting this for the big CE event. For which restrictions on both (or either) may need to be enforced by SM or the other organisers (don't forget SM are only a part of this, they are not 100% running it) on bigger guests to ensure everyone gets seen.

Yes, I am talking about Celebration Europe. Sorry about the confusion there.

Checking forums every day for CE dates and details....

  2. i bought an autograph from autographica a couple of times back and on recently showing it to a trusted source i have been told it is definately a forgery and am quiet upset about this as it cost me £50 while i understand the people in charge of the event are not really responsible for this i thought all of these dealers where the cream of the autograph dealers and it was the most reliable place to buy from as all of the dealers were a trusted source this is why i shelled out without thinking i don't really know what to do i don't want to start slagging this dealer off incase it was a geniune mistake but cannot seem to find the dealer in question has anybody got any ideas?

Oh how I love "the trusted source"! I have bought from a UACC registered dealer in the past (some Star Wars autographs) which turned out to be fakes 100% (I even 3 of the actors concerned who vouched this). The dealer, who I'd met several times and would like to state is a legitimate dealer, got them from his trusted contact. A guy who apparently writes for the Autograph magazine at times and supplies to other UACC dealers. I know he also supplies to another big UK dealer (again, totally legitimate dealers and lovely people) because I asked them and even told them of my concern. So consequently I almost never buy from anyone unless they have got the item themselves.

Obviously I won't mention the dealers here and the one I bought fakes from did refund me. I totally believe these are "good guys" and legitimate dealers. But I guess not every "trusted" contact can be trusted. OF course to a genuine hobby collector like me who sometimes sells stuff on eBay, it makes life very frustrating when people bid on items from high profile people with COAs (worth nothing) and trusted contacts and ignore my genuine stuff because I don't have the "official" credentials. That's my rant over!

    As always - buyer beware!

  3. Latest guest for C10 is William Sanderson

who was J.F. Sebastian in Blade Runner

Ok, so here's the one main Blade Runner cast member who's autograph I don't have.

Is anyone willing to do me the huge favour of getting a signed (undedicated) card for me (payment upfront of course)? I unfortuantley cannot make Collectormania 10 but really, really want W.Sandersons signature.

    Please help?!?

    HI LODSY,

I live in mk and am a big bladerunner fan so getting you his auto will be no problem, contact me and we can sort out the details.

Fantastic - many thanks for the offer. How do I contact you? Am I allowed to put my email address on here? If so it is ooberlamb@aol.com and I guess if you can contact me then we can do the deal. Thanks again

  5. sorry if its been done already.

    but how bout it??

    Cheers was well funny :D

My favourite show of all-time and still loving the reruns.

It gets my vote although I think it unlikely - but we can all dream, eh?

oh bugger, that was supposed to go on the "suggestions..." topic!

  7. Does anyone know if Silas Carson has ever done a convention? He would make an awesome guest.

He did one when Episode I came out in the south-east on England, and I'm sure I've seen him do others. However, I went to a convention/fair which he was billed on but he never turned up - aparently he has that reputation!

Regarding Hugh Quarshie - I'd read that he wasn't happy with his contract details to do Episode 2 (or rather he wanted more money) and when told "no" he said he wouldn't do it. It's what I read - it could be totally untrue!

Can't wait for more details for the Europe Celebration next year....

  8. Hi, can anyone advise me about Elijah Wood at LCC? Obviously there will be huge queues, but from experience can anyone tell me if it's an absolute must to get in really early, or if I turn up in the afternoon could I still get to see him and not have to spend hours in a queue? I ask because I heard this was the case at Collectormania - a horendous morning rush for tickets, but by the afternoon (or maybe it was Sunday) people were turning up and still got to see him without all the queueing.

If anyone can help (or indeed make sense of what I've written!) - please do. Thanks

  9. Anthony Daniels lives in London, in fact, not in the USA.

I've recently worked with Anthony.  I have no idea where the rumour started that he lives in the USA.  He's a Brit, completely!

##really want my poster signed. Don't know why I thought he lived in the US - guess it was something I heard or read. Shame he doesn't do more conventions here then. Oh well

  10. I believe there are quite a few others such as:

    Friday Wilson - Eritae (handmaiden)

Christina Da Silva - Rabe (handmaiden)

Lewis Macleod - Voice of Sebulba

    Howard Swindell - Toonbuck Toora

    Brian Blessed - Boss Nass

Lindsay Duncan - Voice of TC-14

    Hugh Quarshie - Captain Panaka

    Khan Bonfils - Saesae Tinn

    Michaela Cotrell - Evan Piell

    Phill Appleton - Royal Pilot

    Ralph Brown - Ric Olie

Ray De Haahn - Naboo Royal Guard

Plus of course Kenny Baker, Anthony Daniels, Jeremy Bullock, Peter Mayhew and Warwick Davies.

Also, not sure where Keira Knightley is based now (not that theres any chance of getting her to a con)

Im sure there must be more than this as well

    938987

I believe Anthony Daniels and Peter Mayhew live in the USA (I really want a Daniels sig on my poster). Also Toonbuck Toora was played by Hilton Howsen (or at least was in Ep II). I briefly worked with the guy a couple of years ago, plus another collector also tracked him down. As far as I know he is back in Australia.

Keira lives in London, but of course doesn't spend much time there right now. But meeting her would be pretty wonderful I have to admit!

  11. Lodsy - Please keep guest suggestions here in the Guest Suggestions section. Certainly don't start the same thread in multiple show sections. I have removed the pretty much identical post to this one that you started in the C9 section.

    938351

My humble appologies to one and all. I'm not a regular member of the whole forum/show clique - but I have been told.

I still would love to meet those guests though

  12. Before I make the trip to this event, will we get an idea of autograph prices? I know the Questions page says about SMs prices of £15-£20, but often these smaller "dedicated" Star Wars events are cheaper because they are more fan-based and not just for the money (or am I kidding myself?!)

I'm sure we would all appreciate some price guides if possible. Many thanks SM

  13. OK Guy's and Girl's. In another Thread someone ask Jason at the weekend about Empire Day and how many guests there should be.

According to Jason, he hopes to have 30 signers PLUS 8 main  guests who don't normally do signings.

I am hoping for Michael Pennington, Jimmy Smitts, Silas Carson, Hayden Christensen, Michael Culver, Frank Oz, Amhed Best and Richard Marquand

I would say Ewan McGregor, Ian McDiarmid and Dennis Lawson but i doubt they will still do it.

Who would you like the 8 guests to be?

    875342

I wouldn't be too hopeful for Richard Marquand seeing as he died in the 1980's. His autograph is worth ALOT

  14. I would love to meet Anthony Daniels (again). I know he's a it of an uppity rude bloke, but still want his signature on my poster.

Also Frank Oz, Mark Hamil and James Earl Jones would be lovely additions as would Harrison Ford (yeah, that's going to happen!)

  15. We are having some trouble tracking down several potential guests. If anyone has any information which will help us find these people please e-mail us at Showmasters Towers info@showmastersonline.com   and we'll see if we can persuade them to appear at C6 or LFCC2! (Please e-mail us directly rather than posting their contact details on the forum).

Harvey Stephens - Damien in The Omen II

Last known to be a property developer in Kent

Jonathan Scott-Taylor - Damien in The Omen

Last known to be working as a lawyer or solicitor

    478561

You probably know this by now, but Harvey Stephens is appearing at this years Autographica

  16. Unfortunately I couldn't make C8. I really wanted to meet Mark Wing-Davey from the original (and best) Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy and fortuantely had a contact to get me an autograph.

Was wondering who of you out there met him and if so what was he like and do you have any pics?

    Would appreciate it. Froody!

  17. Well my obvious choices would be from Star Wars: Mark Hamill, Frank Oz and Anthony Daniels;

and from LOTR: Dominic Monaghan, Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Sean Bean, although this would probably mean camping out in the shopping centre in order to get a ticket!!!

Would also love to meet Adrian Hall and Heather Ripley from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

  18. Peter Mayhew initially said no to me when I asked for my poster to be dedicated, and yes he was a bit grumpy about it saying it would hold up queues, although there wasn't a queue. I asked if I came back later would he dedicate it and he said relucantly, he would if there was no queue. SO I returned later when there was no queue at all, and so he reluctantly added a dedication to my item. Kenny, Dave, Carrie and Billy dedicated my poster with no problems. But as to Carrie and Billy's behaviour, well that's another topic...!

  19. There are also alot of very sutble sound track edits and extra sound effects. Also Vaders "white" lightsaber after he kills Obi-Wan is now finally red - or was that already done in the Special edition??

  20. I wrote to Keira when Episode I was out, she signed two cards plus a Star Wars card which I still treasure. Have obtained other signatures since, but if you now write to her agency in London, they use a stamp. It looks kind of authentic as it is smudgy-blue, but I assure you it's a stamp. In fact, at Collectormania 6 I saw a dealer selling a Keira POTC mount for £40 and the signature was this same stamp. She is actually still very accommodating with her ever-growing number of fans, but obviously gets tonnes of letters to her agency. Try finding out where she is making a movie, and write to her via the studio there...
