  1. HAHAHA the topic title confused me. I thought it meant TV set as in a TV! I thought, "why would they want to build a TV at a con and why would anyone care which TV they built?".
  2. Thanks Andrea! The donation page is working fine AFAIK (the link is a banner near the bottom of the Jedi Chefs front page).
  3. Us Jedi Chefs set up a fund-raising page last year. We raised about £475 towards the fight against cancer. Not a huge sum, I admit, but it's still something. :) We've recently launched this year's fund-raising effort. Same charity - Cancer Research UK. It's our adopted charity. :) All donations are VERY welcome. If you'd like to help, please go to the Jedi Chefs site and scroll to the bottom of the front page. The fund-raising banner is fairly obvious. :) THANK YOU to anyone who helps!
  4. There'll certainly be no chance of any misunderstanding next time!
  5. Thanks for this and other offers of help. I appreciate them and I'm sure the other contributors do if they've seen them. As far as helping out towards the poster replacement cost, just wait until next we meet - that's easiest. But anyone with spare funds is more than welcome to donate to our charity fund. We raised about £475 for Cancer Research UK last year and have recently launched this year's appeal. There's a link to the page at the bottom of the Jedi Chefs web site and here is a direct link to our fundraising page on JustGiving.com. I hope to get the site updated over the long weekend. There are pics from 4 events to add!
  6. I know what you mean. at least im not alone. i was so sure everyone was enjoying the confusement caused. i cant keep up anymore. You're right - lots of quotes.
  7. I find conventions more relaxed and social. However, that wasn't so evident on Saturday morning at Eclipse because the system was FUBAR from the get-go. I'm sure that future Massive Events cons will proceed more smoothly - then you may see more of a difference. I dunno! The two types of events do have more things in common than differences.
  8. One example: at many signing shows, you can take photos of the guests during the autographs. Even get them to lean across the table for a photo with you. Not at most conventions!
  9. There are definite differences, though perhaps they didn't affect what you personally do at signing events.
  10. Don't worry about it; I'm in a tetchy mood. Dan Bacon. He's in an ep of Stargate Atlantis.
  11. I do have an eye under the patch but it is in no way for "comical effect". Glad that you find it funny.
  12. Ahem! fan BOY ,<<<<<< us girlys like to play with swishy light up things aswell you know I just noticed this! You are correct; I ought to have said "fan-boy/girl" or something. But not "fan-person", because that sounds dumb. My apologies!
  13. I don't mind you using them. You should credit the photographers, Malcolm Houghton and the other one (I don't know the name).
  14. Very nice photos! I didn't many good ones and it'll be a while before I get my site updated because I'm very busy with other things.
  15. He also has the original digital photo files and can print photos himself!
  16. I went for a gold ticket because I'll definitely want the group shot (look at my previous group photos, eg from Eclipse, to see why), plus I love the Friday night "drinks reception" - it's my first, best chance to introduce that guests to the Jedi Chefs idea. Usually proves very useful!
  17. I don't usually but - if I meet them again, I often take copies. Cristine did actually say that she wanted a copy of that pic when I took it to gt signed! then you should totally mail her a copy! I can easily print one but I wouldn't know where to send it!
