  2. cool well the cosplay will be there for both sat n sun but still undecided about the onstage competition...we'll probably do it both days if there is enough people applying and take it from there.
  3. Sure you can CO PL Y COLLECTORMANIA left Done and done C PL Y COLLECTORMANIA left of course you can C P Y COLLECTORMANIA left an 'I' is equally as good as the rest is what you do with it that counts. C P Y COLLECTORMAN A left don't forget to put your mark on it when your done so people know who made the .
  4. if this is true than thats not a problem...if the guests say would you like a picture then OK, i just have issues of rules being broken and people being encoraged by seeing one peron do something so then they think it's ok for them to do it also when it clearly states in the rules it's not allowed (again witht he exception of the guests offering) i dont in any way want to seem rude or anything and im cutting your paragraph because im making a point on this part so its relevent, but its not actually your job to do anything. If the celebrities had a huge problem with it the bodyguards can keep people away or showmasters could tell them too. It just seems a little OTT for someone to come in and pull people away from the guests because not only does it embaress them but it also embaresses you. I've been crewing for showmasters for awhile now..ok not as much as other people i know but come on...my boyfriend who was dressed up as my own security for the saturday night party was asked to stand in as actual security it was getting so redicuouse...unfortunatly unless the guests do say 'help me' there's not much he could have done except stand there and look the part. it seems OTT but i was sat there being hit, pushed and my bag was trampled on plus i didn't want damage to my newly bought gown and this was all in my own chair because i was on the next table to the guests....and didn't people notice how quickly they left because of not being left alone....if i was one of the guests i wouldn't have the heart to say no to a photo either and would leave promptly after but would feel miffed cos of people breaking the rules. they do 1st page of the con book rule number 4. Unfortunately, I have to agree; the guests were "mobbed" soon after they arrived at the Saturday night party. Consequently, they soon left. What really irks me about this is that someone asked on the forums, before the event, "will the guests be at the parties?". The conclusion of the resulting discussion was that the guests might well turn up at the parties, but whether they stayed would depend on whether they were - for the most part - left alone. Of course, everyone taking part in the thread pledged not to bother the guests if they turned up. As hoped, the guests turned up at the Saturday party. As feared, they were mobbed and, understandably, left. as soon as i saw them by the table i was going Ohh Nooooo, i was hoping they weren't gonna show cos i had a fear of what was gonna happen and it did.
  5. You sure can, don't forget to sign it and keep it A4 and as long as it can be laminated i don't care what you do with it have fun. CO PLAY COLLECTORMANIA left
  6. *grr* i think i know who it was i'll be aving words cos encouraging punters for that matter is not allowed...but still i'm Narked at the people who posted pictures.
  7. that shouldn't have even been allowed, now when you said wanting to take picture..did he actually do it? i didn't see him, and i was sat at the table next to the guests when they were being mobeed and even my BF had to step in as security to stop the mobbing cos people couldn't get to their belongings and even worse their alcohol due to people NOT moving from the area.
  8. It's just been bugging me really...but for those people who posted pictures of yourself posing with the guests at the saturday night party....DON'T, it's not clever and it'll Nark people off, and it's in the same catagory of videoing the talks and putting it on you tube for everyone. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE respect the guests in their down time, esspesially when it states in the con book on the 1st page even 'to which a lot of people respected might i add' that you must not take photos or ask for auto's of the guests in their down time...they are too nice to say no but will then leave the scene promptly after the mobbing and wont come back because of YOU yes YOU....do you not see the evil burning eyes upon you from other tables and on lookers who watch you do this thing to which we do not take part in cos we have respect for our fellow human beings who said yes to attending an event for everyone to worship them for the weekend....you get your official photo...leave it at that...sure talk to them get a memorie, he said this i said that we all laughed....but respect the rules and the people OK. next time i see someone doing this i WILL be forced to cause a fuss and i mean it, infront of the guest if i have to, i will go into security mode and politely escort you away from them, just to embarress YOU. WHY should i sit there and let you break the rules and annoy me and many other people and let you get away with it when the rest of us are sticking to the rules..... *fizzle* + =
  9. i guess at the moment yes you can since there's not much interest but as long as it stays A4 size and can be laminated all you need to do is create that letter and hand it in to the cosplay desk at the next event your at once it's finished. i'm hoping to have different 'C's and any other duplicate letters so it gives more people a chance to have a go. the letters are COSPLAY@COLLECTORMANIA i would like to point out that i will delete the letters that have been chosen by other people currently. COSPLAY COLLECTORMANIA
  10. col vid, your probably the best Lara i've seen esspesially with all the many different outfits you have. even i couldn't do that.
  11. it doesn't matter how good or bad it is, it's something that people on here would have made that will be used over and over again.
  12. C13 MK different layout to the other events, not a hired venue..it's a shopping center so different rules apply, like no rollerskates, no replica weapons, not mock fights inside the center....this can be kept for the competition but you have to be careful of the general public and the centers security personnel. there wont be a place for chairs for an audience as such at this venue...it's not impossible but it there wont be very many...there will be a stage and a place for the judges and good prizes as always however most people watching will be standing and wandering to and from their place of interest. there will be plenty of places to take photo's of your costume by the Cosplay area...the walls are white and make a great back drop...and i'm sure there will be a nice clear area away from the public walking into shot all the time lol. the reason for the above Poll is because i ned to get an idea of how many people are entering the competition so i know if there is going to be one on the sunday... Saturday there will be one as in most cases saturdays are always the busiest and the prizes are the same as before, 1st, 2nd, 3rd cash prize....plus SFX mock front cover (saturday ony), Orbital manga goodie bag and prints and portraits fro the astral gypsie...plus what ever i can get my hands on at the time from our other sponsors. also remember that bought costumes are not allowed for those over 12 years, you will have to have constructed the outfit in some way by yourself to compete and you cannot enter an outfit you have entered before. for those who have an old costume they wish to wear and cannot enter the competition itself i'm gong to somehow construct a wall of costumes....you bring a picture of you in the costume your wearing, i'll allocate you a number for your picture and the public can vote on who they think looks the best via that persons number (it also means you can tell people when walking around to come and vote for you at the cosplay area) the only thing you will get for this is a certificate stating you were the attendies fav but it's still something you can be proud of and we'll even laminate it before posting it off to you. please note unless you take the photo home with you at the end of the day we cannot send them back to you. no specific times have been allocated for the comptition as yet but assuming it's like the rest it'll be in the afternoon after lunch around 3pm. any questions?
  13. Bwahaha, i'm going to have to try that with the garrison some time lol....

    Crazy Arik

yes i've been bored today and made this because i could. enjoy
  15. tell me about it, i'm currently looking for a certificate i can modify for this anyway...we'll see what happens but an audience fav is one thing i'm planning and a pin board vote over the entire weekend maybe for the public who don't stay till the end.
  16. probably not, if i do it one way it's a ballet box and photos, otherwise it'll be more like a cosplay fashion show...they walk on the run way holding a number and the crowd choose the winner. i preffer the ballet box idea, i can take the stuff home and announce the winner online...also the show might not have time to do anything extra and if i do a ballet box running over the entire weekend it's not so much hassle. pluse the attendies can see photos of everyone who's ever entered the competition...it's almost like a display board that you can vote on. On the certificate thing, I was thinking more of a certificate for every category...The beauty of it is that you can get them prep'd earlier, you can re-use them if you don't have enough entrants. You get the resident judges to sign them and maybe get one of SM's regular guests to countersign ( if that's agreable)? You don't even have to give them out there and then, you could post them later or just add the names of the winners on the day. I personnally think it would enhance the experience...but then again I like bits of paper, so...I can try an design a mock up version if you want. this would be like doing 2 seperate competitions i'm not putting it off i just don't want this to become another BIG thing, the cosplay main competition on stage is what i'm concentrating on and the this little bit on the side alread puts it's self in catagories 'stage and screen', 'anime, comic & cartoon' and 'Origional' 1 peice of paper posted off once the ballards have been counted with the necessary stuff, name, event, date, attendies choice for best in each catagory. i only really get an hour for the show it self which is why i wanted to run this over the entire weekend by using the picture you supply and putting it on a pin board and you can collect your picture at the end of the day/s as i don't have the means to return them all. untill i chat to showmasters this is all we are able to manage since the main show has kinks were stil ironing out and i don't want to add stuff just yet not on stage anyway. i like the display area idea.
  17. i give you puppets with feeling lol taken friday night 1st 2nd 3rd
  18. probably not, if i do it one way it's a ballet box and photos, otherwise it'll be more like a cosplay fashion show...they walk on the run way holding a number and the crowd choose the winner. i preffer the ballet box idea, i can take the stuff home and announce the winner online...also the show might not have time to do anything extra and if i do a ballet box running over the entire weekend it's not so much hassle. pluse the attendies can see photos of everyone who's ever entered the competition...it's almost like a display board that you can vote on.
  19. i like the award thing idea, not sure about stretching for autographs though, as we have prizes that cost for the people who enter the on stage competition, this would be like a certificate i would think just stating what you came in the public choice for that event and year thats all.
  20. if they have details of everyone who bought a ticket they could always send a letter out to everyone asking if they had the flag to please return it....
  21. i was sat at the table next to the one the guests were at...as soon as i saw them come in and seeing many people who seemed to be con virgins, i knew they weren't gonna stay long. the security even got my boyfriend to keep an eye on things best he could as he was dress up as my security guard for the night lol. but seriously is it just me or were there a lot of virigns this weekend...since most cons i've been to everyone more or less knows the rules or informs the newbies so they don't **** us off and the guests in the process. i know guests don't like to dissapoint and people would start bitching about a particula guests who when asked for a photo in their down time at a party said 'NO' to a photograph but it would be great if they felt comfortable enough to actually say it to us.....i know attendies pay a lot of money to go to these things and then are in aww or they get a little hyper when the guests come around BUT ever though how overwelming it is for the guests! the crew know how exhausting it is to work there but it's worse for the guests and i'd be freaked out if i had a load of people wanting my photo when i was trying to relax and have a good night...infact it would ruin my night...and it's freaky enough having random people coming up to you and you really don't wanna know but don't want come accross as being nasty by telling them to go away. all i can say is read the rules, take them in, be aware off stuff on the walls for any rule placing ie. no photos or videoing ect and accept that this was a convention NOT an event, there is a difference and the rules do change for different organisers but the vast majority stay the same because it works and whether you like them or not...just respect them...it would make the weekend better for everyone including the guests and they willl then want to come to more and not avoid them like the plaige due to 1 incident from a disrispectful attendie who wanted to bend/break or just not follow the rules for that 1 time.
  22. Thats actually a really good IDEA...i may put that into play, though i have no idea what the prize would be UNLESS it's just knowing you won.
  23. did that once, got asked to be dressed as black cat...lets just say the public esspesially the chavs can be VV cruel....unless you mean at the even it self.
  24. Just a thought when signing up as a group entry is it better that you're all related characters or speradic ones...i know if you were all related it would look cool but then if your not and your too scared to go on alone it can be confusing for the audience and the judges....
