I have the Ecto-1 siren from Ghostbusters for one of my main ringtones...scares the hell out of everyone at work when it goes off though, lol!

It's so hard to choose who could top this year, but I think we are at a point now where whenever we get a "Big Guest" thread, then pretty much anyone could be announced, where as a two or three years ago guessing Sigourney and MJF would have had people telling you not to make stupid guesses as they are not at all likely.

Got Weaver, Paxton & Gambon all on a regular ticket, Ive met C.Lloyd before so no need this time.
Exactly the same for me. I got all three but had met Christopher Lloyd before thankfully!

All this talk of people sharing passes, I'm wondering whether SM would ever consider selling joint gold or diamond passes? For example, you get one pass but it lets a couple of you through? It'd be a bit more than a normal gold but less then two separate ones. Or one day gold passes would be handy too.

Here are all my autographs from the weekend. The Sigourney Weaver one has a story. Basically I mentioned that we own a cat similar to the one in Alien but ours only has one eye. She then said she's sign it from Jones the cat as well for our cat. She did a little paw print. Very sweet I thought.

Who were you after out of interest? You said it was your first con so if any of the people you want are regular attendees such as Robert Englund then it'll be worth waiting til they come again.

Some very good points made there. I always have loads of print outs with me when I go to cons, such ass photoshoot times and areas where they are, talk times if I have any. Also a list of who I want to see so I don't miss anyone. I go round them all and pick up VQ tickets if I need too. I never expect to see anyone though and I think that's why some people moan because they blame SM for missing out.
I went there with the 3 main guests for me being Sigourney Weaver, Michael Gambon and Neve Campbell. When I got tickets for Sigourney and Michael I knew was in for a long wait. I was there until closing on Sat and Sun. I managed to meet all then people I'd planne to aside from John Ratzenberger, but that was dues to spending more on other things than I planned too. I got into see Sigourney at about 17.55 on the Sunday night. You see people complaining they didn't meet who they wanted and then read that they had to go at 2pm or something. I think these days, you need to be able to see these out until the end of the day. Most of the time you will then get to see who you want to.

Definately worth it for photos but nowt else. The gold pass room was awful. Grey walls and steel chairs to sit on with Marshmellows being the only snacks available. The free water was good too. Overall not really worth it but excellent fld photos
That's a lot better than normal. They haven't had chairs the last few years. There were crisps on Friday too.

Is anyone going to watch any tv shows or films staring the guests they are meeting this weekend? I'm going to watch Scream (unless I find a better one) later as I'm looking forward to seeing Neve Campbell tomorrow :-) Also watching Ghostbusters again tomorrow.

I always keep my tickets at the bottom of my underwear drawer. At least that way I won't forget them because I have to go in it every day, lol!

I was just wondering how it works with getting autographs from the authors? I've not really been to that section much in the past. Do they charge? Or is it just a case of if you buy the book or have a copy with you they'll sign it for you free of charge?

Will the gold passes get given out as we go in?

My partner and I will be in different entry queues at the weekend as I'm gold and she's not got a gold pass. On the off chance she happens to get asked for ID, as the tickets are in my name, would a Two Together rail card be ID enough for her since I bought the tickets? It has both of our names on and photos.

I've always wondered why the current system couldnt be replaced by one whereby...
You enter the venue and are handed a number
That is your number (for all queues)
Popular guests start off in the 1-100 range
medium start at maybe 1-200
less popular 1-500
(slightly arbitrary numbers but you get the idea, ranges can go up/down depending on queue lengths)
This helps with
a) the insane number of people (and volunteers) who seem to have come to a show without any idea how the queue system works
b)the entrance race and panic to find the people holding tickets (I suspect someone is going to take a fall on Saturday this year)
Thoughts?
Variant on this would be to start handing out VQ tickets to people while they're queuing - a handful of volunteers just work their way down the line outside maybe an hour or 2 before opening
I don't think that would work. For example, what if all the people who wanted to see Michael Gambon, for example, happened to be right at the back of the line and ended up getting tickets 1500-2000 or something stupidly high. They'd all have to wait around while no one was entering his queue, lol! The queue numbers would still have to go up in 50s or whatever they go in because no one could say for sure that a lower number didn't want him. It'd be madness.

Yes, but they won't have to turn up early to get the VQ tickets for Diamond guests if they have the passes already.
Are you referring to the entry queue? That's all I can think you mean. If so, it won't affect it. Diamond passes don't include entry so they will have to join the gold one if they have a gold pass.I think a lot of gold pass owners could have diamond passes too...so that will make the gold-pass queue shorter...

Is there any way to set the system up so we have our photo on the entry tickets? That could help cut down touts and make it harder to fake. Or, maybe email tickets out not sooner than 1 or 2 weeks before the event. It'd give less time for things to be put up onto ebay then.
