Completely agree. It was my first con many years ago and I have loved them since but can’t help but feel disappointed and forgotten. It’s local which makes it easier and cheaper not mention means my husband can go otherwise he has to dog sit!

Just wondered what people’s thoughts were on the weekend. It was tiny compared to previous years and while I accept that cancellations can not be helped, the line up was a bit thin to start with. I feel this might be the end for Sheffield con.

Ah *comment self censored*. Sorry, I didn't realize this was valid for Sheffield too - that's what I get for Posting from a mobile.
I daresay yes, but I will confirm as soon as I can.
It’s not really but no response on Sheffield thread and no confirmation on there so thought I would try here.

I wish I could have brought better news.
Can you confirm if this is the same for Sheffield tomorrow as same thing is showing?

As it looks like he's cancelled Glasgow as well I'd say it's the same - as he's not on the ticket site for Sheffield either, I think you can be safe in that he's cancelled
Be nice to have an official announcement.

He is showing as cancelled on the site as of yesterday but as yet no announcement has been made. Can someone confirm if he is going to be there on Saturday. Don't want to take my pop figure with me if he is not gonna be there!

What refund are you waiting on please? A lot of the recent cancellations are still being worked on. The only completed ones I can definitely confirm are Megan Fox and Mary McDonnell.

The way it goes is as follows - sorry, quick rundown:
SM instruct Eventbrite to refund. Eventbrite issue refund. Attendee gets e-mail. Money is in account a few days later.
I can confirm that minus Peter Mayhew (because of the option to have tickets carry over to the Spring show) and James Callis because that happened at the show (I think Paige Turco Sunday was cancelled too) refunds have been instructed.
However, during the Megan Fox refunds an issue with the refund amount turned up for several people. Due to that Eventbrite have had to slightly change their refund procedures, making them more time consuming as expected.
If we have not received a cancellation email what should we do. I am also waiting for a refund for this and have not heard but others are saying they have had refunds already.

First LFCC for me and hopefully first of many!
Mine too but not sure about the rest of the years - cost me enough this year already and not even there yet (I have no self control especially when it comes to Game of Thrones).

I think this is my 9th LFCC and I cannot wait. Not looking forward to the hot weather though.
Glad it is inside as allergic to bright sun so being outside would count me out! hand held fan with mist purchased yesterday, arrived today which I have a feeling I will be grateful for, Two of my costumes involve fur (in small amounts).
All packed now. Roll on 10:30 tomorrow money when my Taxi arrives (and then the look on the taxi drivers face when he sees the size of one of my bags).

Can it just be the weekend already???!!!! I am having a nightmare day at work & just want to cry.
I know the feeling. One day to go before I break up for 6 weeks and it is gonna be a killing (work in a primary school).

Is it bad my bag is already packed? And is it equally bad that I seem to have filled a rather large suitcase for the weekend (the same suitcase my mum used for a 3 week holiday) and have a bag for my cosplay weapons that is the same size as me?
Note as well I am travelling by train from Leeds!

Yes, they call Golds with all batch numbers at once
oh good, that solves that clash!
-
Just to clarify. If you have a gold pass do you need to go up when your batch is called for the photos (the batch number that is on the ticket) or just after the diamond passes, bit confused.
-
is it busy on the Thursday to pick up as I would much rather do that!
-
I have golden pass and diamonds for the main actors I want to see. What time would you recommend I get there, this is my first time.

The venue is running a number of cloakrooms.
Great thanks!

I will be carrying two prop weapons for 2 of my costumes. I have a bag for them. Is there a cloakroom at the venue for me to put the bang into?
-
Diamond pass purchased! yay

Just read an article about Megan Fox, she is saying all archaeologists are narrow minded and know nothing about history! As someone with 2 degrees in archaeology what the hell does she know! Plus Tony Robinson will also be at comic con, I think we should put these two on a panel together and see what happens - would be very interesting!

You can't just drop something like that and not give us details. Why did this happen? What did you win? Most importantly, what type of cake was it?
The one show bout 3 years ago. It was the great British scary bake off for Halloween. I made a chocolate cake in the shape of a zombie head with brains exposed and a chocolate sauce blood. Won a cake plate.

When you keep expecting for a guest to cancel and suddenly the evening before LFCC your theatre play with Ian McKellen gets cancelled because "There has been a scheduling error made at our end and the 26th July is not a public performance and should not have been put on sale."
I have met Ian Mckellan. I fed him cake in a competition and won!!!! I like him!
Date confusion?

The ideal home show have announced new dates after they have postponed and now say it is 25th July to 9th August at the Olympia. Does that mean this is postponed or have they made an error?
