Thanks Raylenth - I'm sure we will. I'll try and talk to people if the opportunity arises as you say and hopefully they'll be friendly and I won't be on my own for too long! Does anyone know what the Friday night/Saturday night parties are like? Gd place to meet people and have some fun/chat etc?

Thanks everyone for the comments - reassuring to know that others go on their own and that they don't feel silly doing so. Also good to know that people often strike up conversation with people at talks and in queues. As it's my first convention (at least for a very long time) I just needed some friendly reassurance which you all very kindly provided - thanks! :-) You've given me the push I needed to buy a ticket - now got to decide which package to buy! Maybe see some of you there - be good to meet some fellow trek fans as, like Jamesmd85, I don't have any friends who are also fans.

Hi all, Quite a big star trek fan and would love to go to this convention but have only ever been to one before a very long time ago. I don't have anyone to go with (or rather I don't have anyone to go with that enjoys star trek). Just wondered if it is worth me going as don't really fancy wandering around on my own like a lemon!
