  1. If you don't want to meet a guest or type of guest just don't meet them! Simple really, I don't bother with Autographica because it's not my thing but if others go it makes SM money so they can get guests for the shows I am interested in. Invite everyone I say, who knows when it's your last chance to meet someone.

  2. Never really had chance to sit and read the comics he has done but think it would be better to get him to sign a comic rather than the films he has had a cameo in.

Anyone recommend any Spiderman, Captain Anerica or Hulk comics?

    Thanks in advance!

I agree completely. I think many attendees will be accustomed to meeting people purely because they are in something they like and will be happy to meet Stan purely because of his cameos. But you're right, he is a comic-book legend and it's best to appreciate the work that brought him that status.I am going to get the Spider-Man Omnibus Volume 1 as it's all of the Stan Lee / Steve Ditko issues. What better thing to get signed than the first ever Spider-Man stories presented in the best format they've ever been in? It could be argued that Spider-Man launched Marvel / Stan onto the mega-stardom they have today, and I know Stan himself has a special love of Spidey. Added to that, the old comics are just really good reads, very enjoyable. And since he doesn't personalise, it will end up being a good investment in future years. I met Stan the last time he was over here so if I miss out on his auto it's not such a big deal, but I will try to get the omnibus signed if I can.

I agree, it's got to be something Comic based. If you're going to get it framed it's all about the art work. A lot of comic book stores sell on eBay and personally I'd get a issue 1 signed of any Marvel.

  3. I think I upset my step sister the other day because she's getting married the weekend after Stan Lee is a London Comic con and I just happened to say if they were the same weekend I'd have gone to meet Stan Lee because I've been to loads of weddings (including her previous one) and this'll be mine and my lads only chance to meet Stan.

It sounds really evil but we're not close.

  4. Went to a comic book store and said I'm after a comic, it has to be marvel and it has to be bright.

The guy look at me like I'd asked for nude pictures of his kids, then went on this long speech about non collectors and the cherry ask my mrs if I was serious because he had some stuff and he didn't like getting it out for people that can't afford it. I'd already pulled out 10 or so comics that I was going to buy so we were in all intense paying customers. I ended up spending around 40 quid which I guess in comic book store terms made me a millionaire because he invited me to some event he's holding in a few months. I was to polite and said I'd see if I were free that weekend when in my mind I was cursing.

Is this the general experience of outsiders in comic book stores?
