  1. just booked the travel lodge in queen street for for 2 adults for 2 nights £77 which is cheaper than what i paid for the first con ( at £86 in the same hotel) just a tip for anyone thinking of going and looking for hotels , I think it would be great if people shared any good deals they find for others to enjoy as well :) because that's more money for photo's and stuff :D:D:D

  2. just a quick question will there be trading card vendors at the next one as there was in the first and does anyone have any contact info/ shop address/ online shop address for any vendors of trading cards that were at the last one , i suddenly got hooked on trading cards after browsing and picked up a few decks but didnt take any leaflets or anything with contact details , any help would be great .

  3. maybe it was because it was our first con but we found it hard to get around as i said if you were trying to pass a merchant stall it was better to go another way , and yeah upstairs was a bit crazy , i cant help but think maybe waiting rooms would help mainly in the case of Brian Blessed photo shoot , would keep everyone out of the corridor

  4. Never heard or saw the auction anyone know what was sold

the auction was next to the organizers booth there was a ton of stuff mainly signed photo's but there was the odd "on screen" prop and rarities like a call sheet from (dr who / torchwood) off the top of my head (starting with the few we won )there was signed torchwood flag ( see my torchwood fans needed post), a stargate keyring used on screen , an Avery Brooks signed photo , a nathan petrelli campaign poster (heores) , a signed Tom Felton photo

there were signed red dwarf, torchwood, heroes, matt smith , Jenna-Louise Coleman , canvases , a rare return of the jedi badge, a menu used in torchwood , a George Takei signed poster (heroes)

  5. wow , what a great weekend , it was the first con we had been too and it was great , a little cramped but awesome , the dr who, red dwarf, Anthony head, and hobbit talks were fantastic , all the guest were friendly as you could hope for and the staff were outstanding.

the only things i would suggest for the next con are

    • more space - the floor was so cramped yet upstairs there were empty rooms ( not the photo/talk ones) maybe splitting some merchant/guests between floors would be better for example if the whole red dwarf crew were to turn up then maybe have them in a room upstairs , this would work if they were giving a talk / photo shoot . as for merchants stalls you couldn't move due to people stopping to have a look which is great for the sellers apart from everyone then bottle necked in a area. with more/better floor space you can have better queue management
    • food /seating - im not sure if showmasters have any involvement with arena catering but as i said empty rooms upstairs , people were sat on the floor on the edge of the arena , even just a room with some chairs in would have gone along way , let alone with a table or two. and you dont really need a crew member in that room.
    • talk/photo shoot lines - instead of having so many people snake around the corridors maybe talk/photo shoot waiting rooms this frees up the corridors when leaving said shoot/talk , this would work well if shoot waiting rooms were next to the shoot room itself

these are small problems which if can be solved would make a flawless con and i hope to be at the next one in Cardiff .

  6. We won the torchwood flag in the silent action, and have been trying to work out the signatures that are on it. We think we have worked out most of them but any input would be appreciated, especially the one under(ish) Sharon Morgan, we think it's John Barrowman, with Captain Jack underneath it.

Left to right we think its :

    William Thomas (Gwens Dad)

    Joseph Lidster (writer)

Daniele Favilli (Angelo Colasanto - from miracle day)

    John Barrowan, captain Jack

    Sharon Morgan (Gwens mum)

    Kai Owen (Rhys Williams)
