  1. Some of the Godzilla movies have yet to get a DVD release and some of the ones that have used absolutely terrible prints. I still have my VHS of Terror Of Mechagodzilla as it is uncut and the picture is much much better than the awful scratchy washed out print they used on the DVD I bought!

Also, Wisdom Of The Gnomes. Loved that show as a kid and they released David The Gnome on DVD (although not the tv movies!). So I still have my VHS with just two episodes on. More love for the Gnomes please!! ;-)

  2. I've done Gold in the past when I've had a large number of photo shoots I want to do at LFCC. It was really worth it then as I could be near the front of each queue - particularly handy when you have potential clashes or other shoots straight after! It was worth it for me in terms of managing time. When I've only got a couple of shoots though, I tend to stick with the standard tickets. There's no rush and I don't mind waiting longer in the queue. The queues are generally managed pretty well - even if you're quite a way back in a long queue, once things get moving it doesn't take that long and you'll get your pic!

  3. I posted this in a Facebook group but hopefully it's ok to post here too:

I just wanted to say a belated thankyou to everyone who helped me get to my George Takei photoshoot on Friday when it looked like I was going to miss it!

    Thankyou to:

The kind lady in front of me who offered to save my place in the queue so I could go and find Showmasters crew who could help me (after the rude and useless NEC red shirt guy told me it was tough and I should have started queuing at 8 in the morning!).

The Showmasters crew at the front, a gentleman who went to ask on my behalf - and a really helpful lady with blue/green hair who got it sorted so I could get in.

Also thanks to the kind gent near the front of the queue who said he didn't mind me cutting in so I could get my pass and run to my photo shoot.

Hope you all had the great weekend you deserved! :-)

  4. I stood well out of the way to look in my folder and find my ticket for the Klingon bridge shoot that I'd bought, found it and just thought I'd better join the queue when I looked up and realised the queue had somehow come out and joined me! How easy was that? Just wait and the queue will come to you! ;-)

Does anyone know if these places serve Camels please? :headscratch:

I'm sure if you put in a special request they'd be happy to serve one up! ;-)

I'm So Shocked :crying: Eat Camel.. You can't eat Camel. We don't eat Humans.. so No Camels on the Menu please...

Oh, I don't know...roast camel could be quite tasty! I guess you couldn't have one because that would be camelbalism! Hee hee.

  6. For me it's Buster Merryfield (Uncle Albert from Only Fools and Horses) and Dame Kate O'Mara - the meeting with Buster Merryfield was completely unexpected, he was in a local Natwest branch back in the 90s, signing copies of his book. They'd tucked him right in a corner near the exit so nobody saw him sitting at the table but my Dad spotted him just as we were leaving and I heard him say hello. I turned around and there was Uncle Albert! Didn't see that one coming at all! lol He was a really nice and friendly guy and had a warm handshake. It's a shame I was so shy in those days (not like now!) but he signed a copy of his book and I still have it to this day!

Dame Kate O'Mara was at the last LFCC that she did. I nearly didn't meet her as it was such a big gap between photoshoots and she was last thing Sunday for me - I was really tired by that point. Luckily, I decided to stay to see her. She was really nice when I met her - she asked me my name and how I was and just seemed very friendly. She turned out to be one of the highlights that weekend for me as she was so nice. It was really sad when I saw she had passed a couple of months or so later but it's nice to have the memory of having met her.
