In Christopher Guest's most successful films, he re-used the very same cast members (in 'Waiting for Guffman', 'Best in Show', 'A Mighty Wind' and in the upcoming 'For Your Consideration').

This relationship stretches back to the days of 'This is Spinal Tap' in which he met and worked with some of the usual cast (who have now become commonly known as the 'Christopher Guest players')

I absolutely love these films and this cast and I think it would be just about the best thing in the WORLD if Showmasters could get any of them to one of their shows. Anybody else interested? Here is some more information about some of the main 'players'...

Eugene Levy
Probably most famous for his role in the 'American Pie' films, Eugene Levy has worked very closely with Guest in many of his films (and co-wrote many too!)...

...he has also starred in films such as 'Splash' and 'Father of the Bride' (see more info here!)

Catherine O'Hara
Possibly the most popular (and BEST, hehe) of all the cast, Catherine O'Hara has starred in countless amounts of films and worked with an impressive list of legendary actors...

...she is probably most famous for her roles in films such as 'Beetlejuice', 'Home Alone' and as the voice of Sally in 'The Nightmare Before Christmas' (see more info here!)

Michael McKean
One of Christopher Guest's closest friends (they worked together on 'This is Spinal Tap'), Michael is one of America's finest comedy actors...

...he has starred in so many movies, ranging from 'Planes, Trains and Automobiles' to 'The Producers' as well as roles in many popular TV series (see more info here!)

Parker Posey
Otherwise known as the 'indie-queen', Parker Posey has become a cult (and personal) favourite...

...her filmography is very impressive and includes films such as 'Blade Trinity', 'Sleepless in Seattle' and the upcoming 'Superman Returns' (see more info here!)

Michael Hitchcock
Perhaps a less famous face to some, but Michael never fails to crack me up in the 'Guest films'...
Posted Image
...you may also recognise him from his role in many popular TV shows and also for his role in the blockbuster 'Serenity' (see more info here!)

John Michael Higgins
A well-respected actor who has been in a vast amount of popular movies, Michael is a firm favourite in the previously mentioned classics (and some of his roles have been the most hilarious)...

...he has also starred in films such as 'Wag the Dog', 'Blade Trinity' and a number of successful TV shows (see more info here!)

Jennifer Coolidge
Probably most famous for her role in the 'American Pie' films, Jennifer has become a very popular comedy actress...
Posted Image
...as well as her hysterical roles in the 'Christopher Guest collection' she has also had roles in films such as 'Legally Blonde' and 'Zoolander' and given her voice to one of the characters of 'Robots' (see more info here!)

Harry Shearer
Not one of the most famous names in this list, but definitely one of the most famous voices...
Posted Image
...he is probably most famous for his voice roles in 'The Simpsons' in which he plays characters such as Ned Flanders, Principal Skinner, Smithers, Montgomery Burns (etc) as well as acting roles in 'This is Spinal Tap' and 'The Fisher King' (see more info here!)

Jane Lynch
Another great regular in the 'Guest films', Jane Lynch would make a very popular guest...
Posted Image
...she has starred in many successful movies and shows, ranging from 'The 40 Year Old Virgin' to 'The X-Files' (see more info here!)

Bob Balaban
Bob Balaban has one of the faces that you simply recognise from 'something' and this is due to his extensive filmography...
Posted Image
...with movies such as 'Capote', 'Ghost World' and 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind' under his belt, it is clear to see that he would make a fantastic guest (see more info here!)

(continued in post 2)...
Cult film/tv, horror, sci-fi, 80's, Lost, Carnivale, Game of Thrones, Star Wars, LOTR...

Fred Willard
Definitely one of the funniest of all the mentioned actors, Fred Willard also has an impressive list of films to his name...
Posted Image
...you may recognise him from things such as 'Anchorman' or 'American Wedding' (see more info here!)

Christopher Guest
Finally, the master himself...

...as well as being the driving force behind these amazing movies, he is also famous for his role as Count Rugen in the classic 'The Princess Bride', as well as roles in 'A Few Good Men', 'Little Shop of Horrors' and the recent 'Mrs Henderson Presents' (see more info here!)

There are more 'regulars' than listed here, but I really must stop...I'm sure you get the idea though, yeah? lol

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease Showmasters! Make my day and bring me one (*cough* particularly Catherine, Parker or Christopher *cough*)
Cult film/tv, horror, sci-fi, 80's, Lost, Carnivale, Game of Thrones, Star Wars, LOTR...
