A poem for Cardiff Comicon

Recommended Posts

News came of a meeting

Of goblins, ghouls, elves and oarks,

Where celebrities would gather,

Be copied, admired and adored

And when the early bird did call

Makeup, hair and costumes

Adorned the public’s bones

And the moot did assemble

In the air of a crisp morn

Flashing bulbs from cameras,

Did light the sky this day,

And posts and tweets and comments,

Were in their droves made
,

Then came the whispers,

of who would take the iron throne,

They grew and swarmed and echoed,

Through the Cardiffian halls
,

The jolly folks called Cosplayers

Posed and waved and smiled

And those more common folk

Were heroes in their mind

For although they had no costume

Their presence was enough

Their bags weighed down with treasures

A variety of fandom stuff

Memories were made this day

For all who were present

And joy was brought to Cardiff

By the kings called Showmasters
