Latest Comic Guest Announcement: Mike Collins Attending: Saturday & Sunday Artist on the critically acclaimed graphic novel retelling of the first Moon Landing, Apollo he's best known as the penciller on the Panini Doctor Who Magazine comic strip since the TV show’s triumphant return, he had the longest uninterrupted run as artist on the strip, and pencilled the debut stories of each of the first three new Doctors, Eccleston, Tennant and Smith. He still draws the flagship strip, alternating with Martin Geraghty and John Ross. He illustrated two successful BBC original Doctor Who graphic novels, and has drawn for the US IDW Doctor Who comic book series. He's also the creator of the the first ever Welsh language graphic novel Mabinogi, a companion piece for the Cartwyn Cymru animated film of the Celtic myths. The adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol (script Sean Michael Wilson) for Classical Comics was cited as one of the top ten graphic novels of 2010 by The Sunday Times. Creating comics for over 30 years, starting on Spider-Man and Transformers for Marvel UK, he has worked for Marvel, DC, 2000AD and a whole host of other publishers. In that time he’s written or drawn pretty much all the major characters for each company- Wonder Woman, Batman, Superman, Flash, Teen Titans, X-Men (where he introduced Gambit to the Marvel Universe), Captain Britain, Judge Dredd, Slaine, Rogue Trooper, Darkstars, Peter Cannon: Thunderbolt and more. He currently draws a series of noir crime fiction graphic novels –Varg Veum- in Norse. He is World Famous in Norway. Mike is committed to using comics as an educational tool, running workshops in schools and libraries throughout Wales, targeting ‘reluctant learners’ and was heavily involved in the Read A Million Words In Wales initiative. He also provides storyboards for TV and films, including Doctor Who, Good Omens, His Dark Materials, Class, Sherlock, Knightfall, Warhammer 40K, Igam Ogam, Claude, Hana’s Helpline and Horrid Henry. Outside of comics he has provided graphics and/or storyboards for clients as diverse as the Daily Telegraph, Coca-Cola, Hyundai, Lifebuoy and Colmans. He even illustrated a music video for Agnetta and Gary Barlow. He garnered an improbable amount of publicity for drawing a comic based on the Royal Wedding, which -through an unlikely series of events- led him to cover the actual proceedings as a reporter for Dutch TV. No, really. He lives in Cardiff, Wales and his studio is a short walk away from The Rift.

Latest Comic Guest Announcement - Ian Richardson Attending: Saturday & Sunday Ian is a comic book penciller, inker and cover artist best known for his work across several publishers, working on titles from 2000AD, Image Comics, Marvel UK/Panini, Darkhorse Comics & Zenescope Entertainment among others. Like many UK artists, Ian's first professional comics work started at 2000AD working on various Future Shocks, Sinister Dexter & Judge Dredd stories before moving onto Image Comics & the Nobles Causes series for a couple of years. With various stops along the way that have included initial work on the graphic novel for the Harrison Ford & Daniel Craig Cowboys & Aliens movie, some children friendly work on Captain America, the Falcon & Iron Man stories for Marvel UK/Panini, all the way through to work on the Halo comic books at Dark Horse Comics. She has worked with a variety of comic and book publishers including Titan Publishing, Image Comics, Self Made Hero, Hachette, Walker Books and Tokyopop, producing graphic novels, comics, manga, art books, magazine illustrations and children's books. She has also illustrated projects for Toyota GB, BBC, Channel 4, CNN International and others in film/TV. She has provided product demonstrations for Chameleon Art Products, Letraset, Copic and Wacom. Currently, she is working on a series of illustrated fantasy novels called The Chronicles of Ciel, among other things.
  5. Latest Comic Guest Announcement: Liam Shalloo Attending: Saturday & Sunday Liam is a Colourist, Illustrator, Graphic Designer, Concept Artist and Storyboard Artist. He started out his career by ticking off a life-goal, working as a colourist on the various Transformers titles (G1, Transformers Animated, Beast Wars) for IDW Publishing and tie-ins for the live action movie for Titan Publishing and Harper Collins. Since then he's worked on various Comic Books, Trading Card and merchandise projects including; Spider-Man, Doctor Who, GI-Joe, Godzilla, X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy and The Avengers. Outside of comics, he's worked on a lengthy list of video games, over almost every console of the last decade, selling over 26 million copies to date. These include properties such as the SingStar franchise (Sony PlayStation) God of War, Harry Potter, Diggs Nightcrawler, Disney, Train Sim World and The Muppets. Liam is currently working on various video game projects as well as Marvel trading cards for Upper Deck and a continuing series of variant movie posters for PictureHouse Cinema.

Latest Comic Guest Announcement: Simon Myers Attending: Saturday & Sunday Perhaps best known for his work on the Doctor Who Comic Books by Titan Comics Simon created the “album homage” series of covers and the “watercolour portrait” covers. He has created covers for many more of Titan Comics’ properties such as Assassin’s Creed, Torchwood, Vikings and Sherlock. Simon has created artwork for Dark Horse Comics’ Ghost and Star Wars Insider Magazine. Before embarking on his career as an illustrator Simon worked as a Graphic Designer for the High Street Fashion Industry creating garment graphics for, amongst many others, TopMan, Burton Menswear, Ted Baker and Adidas.

Latest Comic Guest Announcement: Stephen Baskerville Attending: Saturday & Sunday Artist: Transformers; Aces Weekly UNDOUBTEDLY best-known for his inking of numerous Transformers stories for Marvel on both sides of the Atlantic, Stephen Baskerville has worked on many other titles since he made his comics debut in 1978. It was, however, eight years after writing and drawing a story in issue #5 of the semi-underground Graphixus that his next credit – in Marvel UK’s Spider-Man and Zoids#4. From then on he began to work regularly for Marvel’s British-based offshoot, his name appearing in such titles as Thundercats and The Sleeze Brothers as well asTransformers. His first US work appeared in 1989’s G.I. Joe European Missions #10 with Web of Spider-Man, Felicia Hardy the Black Cat, Spider-Man: The Arachnis Project andSpider-Man 2099 among the titles that followed. As well as working on various Marvel-related promotional comics, he also contributed to The Night Man, Mantra, All-New Exiles and other such titles in Malibu’s Ultraverse line. Primarily known for his inking he has pencilled the occasional story throughout his career, which he brought full circle in 2011 by writing and drawing a contribution to issue #7 of Titan’s CLiNT anthology. Baskerville has drastically reduced his comics output since the turn of the century though he followed some contributions to 2000 AD with a 2012 return to Hasbro’s Robots in Disguise, reuniting with Simon Furman and Andrew Wildman for IDW’sTransformers: Regeneration One. After his involvement on the last 20 issues of that title he inked The Transformers: Drift – Empire of Stone, an IDW 2014 four-parter. He is a regular contributor to Aces Weekly (the online comic spearheaded by David Lloyd).

Latest Comic Guest Announcement: Henry Davies Attending: Saturday & Sunday Cartoonist: The Beano; Private Eye; The Dandy DURING a career whose beginnings are lost in the mists of time, Henry Davies has drawn (and sometimes written) the exploits of such iconic charters from The Beano and The Dandy as Desperate Dan, Dennis the Menace, Korky the Cat and the Bash Street Kids. In addition his work has appeared in various other DC Thomson weeklies, among them The Beezer, The Topper and Cracker. He also contributed to such Amalgamated/Fleetway/IPC comics as Buster, Knockout, Cracker, Cheeky Weekly, Whoopee! and Whizzer (both of which later merged with Whizzer and Chips), Wow! and School Fun (which was eventually absorbed by Buster). Davies – who created Grotty Lotty the School Witch for Marvel – has been a regular contributor to Private Eye for the past decade. He has also produced gag cartoons and strips for The Daily Star.
