  1. My daughter and young son was having a look round together when my son went to have

a look at the guests who were in attendance. Unfortunately he had a minor asthma attack, i think it

was due to the crowds, it being warm etc but a member of the crew was trying to move some attendees

    and got quite verbal.

It started and ended with the crew member shouting "if you don't move i'll kick your arses"!!

My daughter had to shuffle her brother off to the side as the crew member shouted "Go on move"

Not happy and neither was my son.

I understand that the crew are volunteers, but come on this is unacceptable and it's

put us off from attending another event.

  2. A big Thank You from me to DavidB and all the Forum Members who

have answered questions, comments, queries about the Comic Con.

You have calmed by nerves on comments about meeting guests etc.

I've read nearly every thread on here and know my day will run smooth,

    thanks to all of you.

Have a great time, you deserve it :)

  3. I am ill at the moment, and I'm trying to get better, so I don't go into a coughing fit while talking to the guests, listening to a talk or having my photo taken.

I took the time to organise my bag for next weekend too, printed out a schedule, made sure I had packed my photoshoot tickets, organised my money for each day, got my items ready for signing etc etc. :YAHOO:

Guess I should leave room for my new friends..my two inhalers.

Yes, try to get better first. No offence but i dont want to catch anything on the day from you! haha

same here lol wish everyone would consider others inc the guests :thumbup::D

Thankfully I think I am over the worst...and I really don't want anyone else to suffer from it.

    It's almost Friday...... :YAHOO:

Hope you are feeling better, by reading your comments on this forum, you are too

nice a person to be ill for the comic con. :)

You will be fine i'm sure of it.

  4. Do you get a photo even if that is not what you are getting signed?
There are 10x8 images available if you have nothing of your own to sign. The thing to bear in mind is that by taking one when you are not planning on getting it signed you are reducing the number of images available. One does not sound a lot but over the period of a day if a lot of people also do the same thing then it may deprive somebody else later who does require an image it to get signed.

After events people will sometimes post that some of the images ran out. I'm not saying that the above reason is the only factor, because it's not, but it does contribute.

That happened to a friend of mine when meeting the Weasley twins, the photos had ran out and so had to buy one from a dealer to be signed, which to be honest wasn't very fair, as people who were having DVDs signed were still grabbing a photo from the table.

  5. This has certainly happened in the past, and I have done this myself when sitting with a guest, so crew are definitely aware of having to manage the queue. I'm sorry if you had a bad experience.

Yes, I definitely agree that people should be aware of whether there's a queue behind them etc, and most people luckily are!

Not to worry, it wasn't a really bad experience and it certainly hasn't put me off

    attending any more events.

I know how much the attendees and guests get excited. As do I :(

  6. Not being a spoilsport or anything, but is it possible for the Showmasters crew

to "sort of" give the fan or Guest a nudge if their chat at the table is talking a while.

The reason is i stood with my young son a while back awaiting to meet a (Guest) character from the

Transformers movies and a fan kept the Guest chatting for nearly 25 minutes, by this time

the queue had grown considerably and no-one had moved!! The crew member said and did nothing.

I know people want to talk to the Guest and they are excited and chatty, but please spare a

thought for others who want the same chance to have a chat also.

  7. I've booked photoshoots with Katee Sackhoff and William B Davis. I would also like to get their autographs. I want to listen to the Katee Sackhoff and Mark Bryan Wilson talks, I've read that they are free and would like to know the protocol for attending these, do i need a ticket? if so where do i pick one up from? and how long in advance before the talk starts do you recommend getting the ticket just to ensure they are available.

What time do you recommend i should get to the Con at to do these things? Early bird or non early bird?

Also if i purchase a ticket from the website, do i have to line up outside or can i just walk straight in?

I think it would be best for you to book tickets in advance (depending where you live).

I live in the West Midlands and so booked tickets in advance, i was glad i didas the queue when we

got there was enormous!. So glad i didnt have to stand in it, not for my sake but my kids.

  8. I was keen to meet Michelle Forbes as a big fan of TV show Homicide Life on the Street and she was amused when I told her my friends and I thought she was really hot when we watched it back in the 90's, thankfully I managed to add she still looked great. She semed so friendly and her photoshoot was great ( her hands were so warm it was like a radiator on my shoulder ). I was thinking of asking her to lunch at the KFC outside the stadium but decided she was probably too busy, I think she would have orded a Zinger Burger, small fries and a 7-Up.

When we met her she said she needed more coffee, I hope that wasnt a reflection on us !!!!!!

  9. We caught the 8.30 bus this morning from the rail station to MK Stadium, everything was great,

however i would like to point out one or two things I know the service was free but please hear or "read" me out!

1)Going to the CM bus driver was unsure of way, how to get in or out of stadium.

2)Buses on way back were being an hour at a time, there were supposed to be two buses one at quarter to and one at quarter past the hour - when it did turn up you had a twenty min wait on bus before he set off.

3)My kids panicked when under one of the seats they could see a hole and the road underneath!.

Im not being picky i just didnt want SM paying bus companies a service for which they didnt seem to provide.

  10. Had a great day today, we met Peter Kwong, Michelle Forbes and Kate Mulgrew just to name a few.

A strange thing happened with Michelle, i took my two daughters up to meet her accompanied by me (both over the age of 16). She was really fun and chatty but when i told her they loved her in True Blood she laughed and said "Oh no, its too rude for you"and seemed shocked that i let them watch it.

When i told her we had a liberal household, the helper referred to us as "whatever goes and a bit loose!!!".

My daughters thought this was hilarious. I was just puzzled.

Kate Mulgrew was quiet and really lovely to talk to, she happily signed the pic to my mom-in-law and happily posed for a pic.

Peter kwong was also nice, he posed for pics and even came round the table to give my daughter a big squeeze while i took their photo.

  11. As far as I recall there were some issues with the venue which was being used.

Last thing I heard was that the event may be back at some point, but not necessarily at the same venue.

I hope it does come back to the Midlands as it is a really great event.

Perhaps Showmasters could hold it in the main NEC next time or in the Birmingham City centre.

May i also take this time to thank you Queen Sindel for taking time in answering my queries since i have been on here.

  12. Check National Rail if you've got a planned route for Milton Keynes on Saturday, especially in the morning, it seems.

The travel time has more than doubled for me. Getting home on Sunday is a problem too, but that's to be expected.

Thanks for letting everyone know about the trains, i'd pretty much got stuff sorted - times etc.

If i hadnt seen your post it wouldnt have occurred to me to re-check times.

    Thanks Psychosis

  13. In regards to crewing at events, an email should be sent to crew@showmastersonline.com and then you should get added onto the mailing list for future events. Then they'll send out application forms when they're looking for crew.

Anyone who applies should get a yes/no reply regardless.

More information is here if you've not read that:

    http://showmastersonline.com/forums/index....showtopic=25858

If you've followed that, I can only suggest sending another one just in case.

Thanks for the info, the day after i posted my query, she received an email from you.

Although she won't be able to crew for the Milton Keynes or London events (she is waiting for an event in Birmingham!) she was really happy you sent an email to her for considering her for future events.

    Many thanks to you.

  14. I'm sure there's no harm in dropping an email with some details for them to keep on file or something :D

My daughter has emailed you as regard to crewing, do you reply to who you want and keep the others on file?

I just wondered as she has checked her inbox several times and has heard nothing - sorry to hassle you.

I just wanted to know how you worked the crewing stuff out with newbies etc.

    Thanks
