I didn't find Buffymon either..........but..........i think you tried to take a picture of my friend Cryssie in London, did you not ???? As i found out yesterday !!!

I can't believe i was that close and i didn't know who you were ;) .......here's me kicking myself :D

hihi yes, I tried to get a photo of her while hugging James, but I was too close so all you could see in the photo was something...greyish :WINCE:

We´ll have to make sure to meet next time ;)

  2. during my two photoshoots with him I didn´t say much, I was too busy trying to remember to sniff him :YAHOO:

When I got my second autograph we talked a little about his second album and he said that this had been a great experience for him and that he now again had the courage to go back into the studio

He is so sexy and nice :YAHOO::YAHOO:

So how'd he smell, all I remember is his bouncing about like tigger and when he put his arms around me how his touch was so light. I so tried on the sunday to savour the moment but ultimate drooliness won. Next time!

well during my first photoshoot with him I forgot to sniff him, I think I kinda blacked-out there

But during the second one, I actually remembered to. He didn´t smell much, mostly leather from his jacket.

  3. yes Tony was great! The whole thing felt very informal and he was very relaxed (and tired and a wee bit intoxicated I think  ) I really enjoyed it, and he looked so much younger than he ever did on Buffy (maybe because of the tweed :P )

Tony was the reason I went to the party at all, and it was well worth the money.

I laughed so hard when he told us that he and Jason (SM) had agreed on him playing "a couple of songs", but during the day people had come up to Tony saying things like "I´coming to see your gig later", "I´m looking forward to your concert" and even "I´ve bought a ticket to see you and your band" ;)

  4. I was at James' talk and thought it was great. Even though I was near the back I could still see him and there was a giant screen as well. Heard everything very well via loud speakers and James was very funny and cool. :)

Instead of those rambling posts, why didn’t they just say this - when people were concerned?

    Glad you had fun! :whistling:

    A good question indeed.

I had a very good time, due to James and Steve (who knew he was that much fun!! To James: "Is it true that we are lovers?" lol) and to some very good questions. Well done people!

I was sitting near the front, in the seventh or eight row, next to the aisle so I had a very good view. The sound was much better than last time, I heard everything. What the view was like for the people in the back I don´t know though, the screen I don´t think did much for anyone.

  5. Last time I visited MK I really didn´t like it. This time around I didn´t mind that much maybe because I knew what was waiting. I also stayed in a hostel outside MK in Bradwell Village this time which was very cozy with geese wandering around, so I didn´t spend the entire days in central MK.

  7. We are not going to explain every single thing we do to improve our shows; we simply don't have the time. We are constantly working to do so, because that's how we survive and evolve.

    Stuart

*clears me throat* Will you try to raise the stage and do someting about the PA system or not? This question keeps being ignored over and over again.

There are now three pages [almost 4], of people saying that there are problems with the microphone, seating plan, and visibility [stage]. If you’re listening to fans, why did you ‘accidentally’ omit talking about any of these seemingly core issues in your response?. Many posters have also stated they accept that this is the only room available.

The bold part in Stuart's quote pretty much explains it - they don't have the time to explain every little detail about how they change/improve aspects of the show.

What do you mean that they don´t have time. They do seem to have time to write very long messages on this thread...but not to answer the questions it seems.

I’m sure that if the room was a gas chamber, and all the people who bought a ticket were going to die – you’d still find nothing wrong with the format DavidB. You are the most infuriating person on this whole forum.

but I doubt they want to be dictated to by forum members.

Have you considered that they might actually be telling the truth, and trying to make the experience better for all ?

Yes, that´s exactly why. Glad that someone gets it

  8. I attended a talk in 2003 I think with the Evil Trio from Buffy and it was held in a tiered auditorium. It was comfortable, well lit and everyone could see the guests. I don't understand why this venue is no longer used. Oh wait... no doubt it won't hold AS MANY punters as THE ROOM so SM wouldn't be able to make as much money from the talk.

Thanks for the vote of confidance. Nice to see you feel we are motivated purely by money, although your request we raise the price in the next sentence is somewhat bizarre when taken in combination with that sentiment.

The tiered theatre holds 1400 people; the current venue is much smaller, and we deliberately limited the number of tickets to below capacity so that people wouldn't be crushed in or sitting way at the back. However the theatre is fully booked, and will be for most of the year. Its one of the busiest outside of London, and they are actually building another one round the back of the existing one so they can put all that excess business somewhere. We DID check out various options; this is the best available.

I really thing SM ought to look at what was said above about JM fans booking first, worrying about the price later. Raise the ticket price by 10-15 quid and give people a DECENT venue, SM!

This is the best venue available. We've already made it clear that if someone booked in a rush because they were desperate to see James but were genuinely put off when they found out which venue we are using, they can ask for a refund BEFORE they go. If however, they claim to be so concerned, yet still go, then we will not offer a refund, because that leaves us wide open to anybody who attends going along, getting the talk they paid for, and then claiming they didn't have a good time (whether that is true or not) simply to get a refund.

Are we trying to improve on the last talk? Of course. We constantly try to evaluate and improve on anything we've done before. Hence the change to the way we will be letting people into the talk, so that those who booked early get in before those who booked later, meaning there should be no need for a "mad scramble" (although human nature being what it is, we can't guarantee some selfish fans won't try to create mini-"mad scrambles" within each batch of people allowed in instead of entering the room like mature adults). We do listen to what people tell us; its the assumption that we don't and the presumption that we don't care and won't make the effort that gets very wearing. As one poster noted, if you go in assuming that you won't be able to enjoy this talk, then you'll probably end up being right; people fulfill their own prophecies most of the time.

We are not going to explain every single thing we do to improve our shows; we simply don't have the time. We are constantly working to do so, because that's how we survive and evolve.

and again I must say I am very surprised that any organisers will make public statements like "we can´t guarantee that some selfish fan..." The way you seem to view your customers (that are the ones keeping the event alive) is very strange. You need to put some policies in place on how you handle your customers.

    Basically...yes.

When I post the results I will give a link to the forums most wanted site where alot of people are featuered. Also in General Chat there is a pinned thread for introducing yourself, alot of people have posted pics of them selves to help. :)

ah ok, I better check it out then. Pictures will definately make it a tad bit easier

I do NOT work for Showmasters, or work in the office, I just help them process the orders on their online shop. So there's no point directing complaints to me in the way they deal with customers.

I am aware of that, and I was addressing SM. I have edited my post in a way that I hope makes that more clear

  11. Better surely that James could have stood on the stage where the parties are going to be held - i presume there is a stage there?? what's wrong with having it there??

    :headscratch:

    *Wanders in*

The parties are at the same place as the talk. They're all being held at the Hockey Stadium.

As to the question on the sound/tech/stage etc - has anyone actually thought that it belongs to the venue itself and not Showmasters? *Shrugs*

    *Wanders out again*

and we are suppose to know that..how?

Again, this comes down to listening to the complaints and at least trying to do something about it. Have SM been in contact with the people owning the venue and asked them to do something to improve sound/visibility?

This is what customers are interested in knowing about, not to be shrugged off. If SM told us that they have tried everything they can, then people wouldn´t be as upset.

[to Showmasters, and not to Jola]

Now, I only write this because I hope that you might treat customers differently in the future. I really don´t have any hopes that anything will improve regarding the venue, but perhaps you could try to improve the way you deal with complaints in the future. I wish you good luck with that.

We are fair and honest people who just want to do what we love which is run events.

And it saddens me when people scare other fans away from meeting their idols when there was really nothing wrong last time. All this achieves is creating lots more work for us because of the volume of e-mails with legitimate questions from new fans seeking reassurance. It is a waste of everybodies time. If it really was that bad we would not have used the venue again and in fact wouldn't have put the time and effort into organising that talk at all.

    jason

I really really had no intention of adressin this topic again, but I just have to :firedevil:

Why don´t you adress the real questions - will you build a higher stage, will you try to improve the sound?

Why do you meet a compaint, made by several fans, by saying that they are trying to scare people off?

And why do you keep saying that there wasn´t a problem, when many people thought there was? Are you saying that people are lying?

This is a commercial event, is it not? And you know that James is a popular guest. That is why you are putting your time and effort into organising that talk at all.

please, Im not picking a fight, but I would just really like to know if you are going to do something about the stage and sound? And of not - maybe there is some very valid explination to that that I just dont know about? that´s what customer service is about. Listening to customer´s and the keep an open communication. Not to go into defensive mood every time someone has a complaint

*holds my breath and tries to think about happier things; puppies, james, candy, james, clouds, james*

...and by the way. You should hire Frank as a customers service representative:D He´s good.

  13. you'd complain if the price went up wouldnt you?! Just go, enjoy the talk and stop moaning

uhm? What does the price have to do with anything? I am not moaning, and neither am I complaining about a lot of things. The ONLY thing I have ver complained about on this board EVER is this topic.

But I won´t mention this topic again, as Frank pointed out, it doesn´t solve things.

Have fun all you James fans out there, see you at James´other concerts in London! :chair:

  14. what are you talking about SM - there are still tickets left for the Q&A.Who is taking anyone´s seat then?

And why should I find a better room. I am not organizing the event. You are.:cylon:

"A fuzz"? Is that what you call customers service? To just ignore what people are saying? I attended last time, but I took for granted that this time you would have fixed a better venue. So did a lot of other people that have re-booked.

Are you at least gonna build a higher stage, or are you doing nothing?

grrrrr I really hate complaing. I just wanna come and have FUN, but it really makes me sad that SM doesn´t seem to care. :(
