  1. Anyway back on topic:

I see that just over half of the guests are doing photo opps (nearly all guests who are priced £15+) which makes me even more worried now that I won't get an over-the-desk photo cos all my guests have a photo-opp. I'm worried they'll all do a William Mapathor and say "No, only if you buy a photo-opp instead".

I think that would be such a shame. I hope they won't.

Don't get too upset yet, some might be quite happy to do over-the-desk photos. I got one with Mads Mikkelsen at LFCC it wasn't a problem

  2. I think both photos over the table and photo opps can be really great. I guess it does depend on how busy the guests are. If taking photos over the table slows down a very long queue I would get a bit impatient I think.

I was a bit surprised at LFCC that William Mapother didn't do any photos over the table. But after reading the explanation (that he thought it unfair to those people who had paid for a photoshoot) I can see his point.

At the end of the day I think it's a bit presumptuous to expect a photo over the table. After all you pay for the autograph and that's what you get...Everything else is just the icing on the cake. :D

OT>>> Don't know if this has been answered elsewhere already, but I couldn't find it and I was really wondering why at the recent LFCC people were strongly discouraged from taking photos of people like Dominic Monaghan, Hayden Panettiere and the other Heroes guests from the queue?B)

  3. I have today refunded everybody who had purchased tickets for this event.

Please allow up to 7 working days for this to reach your account before querying.

All refunds have been actioned against the original card used at the time of purchase.

    Hey Jola,

the refund was credited to my account yesterday and I just wanted to take the time to say a big THANK YOU. It was all so easy, fast and hassle free that I will not hesitate to book other showmasters events in the future.

Take care & keep up the good work

  4. Anyone from LOST - especially Rodrigo Santoro :YAHOO:

Anyone from HEROES - especially Masi Oka and Milo Ventimiglia

Lord of the Rings actors are also always welcome - how about Bruce Hopkins and Karl Urban?!

and being a huge XENA fan how about some actors like Bruce Campbell (surely not just interesting for Xena Fans :YAHOO: ), Ted Raimi, Alexandra Tydings, Danielle Cormack... well anyone really.. there's loads and a lot have been in Lord of the Rings too. If you could get Renee O'connor or Lucy Lawless who would complain :dance::dance:

I'm already starting to look forward to the LFCC 2008 :YAHOO:

Lets not forget, us ringers ALWAYS want LOTR guests at all SM events including the repeat ones, never forget that. Its not ALL about the a listers, although obviously they help.

People like John Noble, Bruce Hopkins, Brad Douif, all portrayed great characters and hav'nt done a SM event for years, these would be great.

LOTR guests still get staggeringly great queues, (and always will) and I hope you will give us great memories for the future. I know we have enjoyed too many too mention in the past.

I would just like to say that's exactly how I feel about the whole thing.

Although I'm really sad another show UK is not going to happen, I trust in Showmasters to get really cool LotR actors for us to other events. I really loved meeting Dom at the London Film & Comic Con for example.

I'd buy a ticket to see Bruce Hopkins, Brad Douif, Karl Urban and all those other guys any time... as for the A-listers, I'd be there in a heart-beat.

  6.

I have also attended Ring Con Germany which was fantastic, and it was because they were going to be participating in bringing Ring Con to the UK, that I booked my ticket.

    So yeah, I'm not impressed.

Yeah I have to agree with that. There was me thinking that a combined efford of SM and another show Germany couldn't really go wrong.

So I've been reading all the posts but haven't actually said anything, as I had booked my ticket several months ago and so I couldn't really help with the matter of ticket sales.

I can only repeat what some others have already mentioned. A lot more tickets would have been sold if the website had been updated on a regular basis. Even the smallest anouncement of people from the Tolkien Society coming in or whatever would a made a huge difference. I know that some of my friends didn't book because they were waiting for ANYTHING to happen on the website.

You can't expect people to read through all the stuff on the board here... a lot of people don't even know about it.

Well still hoping that the event will go ahead...
