  1. And what are these tickets actually for? Are they for the screenings of LOTR? or are they for the talks? if they are for the talks you have to have tickets for them? damn... that's not fair :( *humph* totally....

    xXx-Helen-xXx

The screenings and talks are practically one in the same, and yes, you do need tickets to enter them.

  2. They have cashed in my cheque so I guess mine should be arriving within the next couple of days...

Showmasters said they'd be posted out by Monday 15th (today) so expect them soon anyone who's paid.. :D

Monday the 15th?! Wehey, shouldn't be too long then!

Crikey, not long now! 18 days no?

  3. but its still not fair on the people who don't seen them, they could at least SOME on saturday!

I guess you mean Come on saturday? And i think you will find they are flying overnight especially to come, am i right? The fact they are still so willing to attend is worth a cheer in my books. Try flying over from america yourself then see if you feel up to a full day of signing and evening talks with no sleep.

Work commitments are work commitments unfortunately and that Junket falls under those criteria, i for one am very happy they are attending when they can, AND adding another day to their schedule, one phonecall is all i had to make, well, lordyislife did that part, to add one night to my booking, well worth it IMO.

  4. Heya there!

What i am doing is getting the train to London Victoria, and then taking the Tube to London Euston. From there are trains from Euston to Milton Keynes Central.

I also believe there are buses from Victoria to Milton Keynes aswell but you'd probably have to ask somebody else about that haha.

But yeah, Euston to Milton Keynes...at least thats what IM doing!

    Goodluck, see you there!

  5. If anyone feels like doing anything on saturday night after the screening I'm up for it. I'm staying the the lodge btw

Sounds like a great plan there Amy, what talk are you going to? Me and three others (including Lordyislife) are going to TTT, but anything can be arranged even if you are going to a different one. Handy that we are staying in the same place!

  6. Just as a matter of interest. Was wondering if Showmasters could say the availability of the two available screenings on the sat and sun? I know two are sold out, but what about the other two? I've booked already, so its just a matter of interest, and i would be a bit miffed if we were to walk in and there oly be a half full auditorium.

  7. ..."Buffy" is EXTREMELY popular and other organisers arrange Evenings with... in pubs with stars such as James Marsters, who is a major heart throb, probably one of the most popular stars of the show and has a massive fan base.

You make some very good points, however, Buffy, in itself may be very popular, however when placed in comparative terms with the Lord of the Rings (which grossed millions in its first weeked, and attracts not only fans of the actors but fans of the book itself) there would need to be a massively increased amount of security and popularity.

The popularity of the films/actors themselves would attract showmasters to hold the relevant events, because at the end of the day, they HAVE to break even, and the more money that comes in the better, and to be truthfull, the is a larger fanbase for Lord of the Rings and actors in this place alone than for any other show/film.

It's understandable that people are dissapointed there is no goonies showing, i would be too if i were a huge fan of it. But looking at it from showmasters perspective, there would be no point in having say Ten Talks (for an example) and cutting down on more popular talks to cater for the less popular films and in the long run, recieving less money, than running ten talks, all hugely popular, and i mean HUGELY popular and recieving that needed cash. Sensibly, you would go for the most popular set of events, ensuring a larger income.

In this sort of business, money comes first, and customer satisfaction comes a very close second. Because without the money, there wouldn't even be a chance to satisfy.

Edit: Ahh, and thankyou DavidSimons for taking your time to organise these events. Vereh Happy

Thats nothing; as soon as you have been awake an hour you will have all the energy in the world; at least thats what I found when I was getting up at that hour to catch a plane; it will be later in the day you will need 'em. I shall probably have a supply; just shout me! lol

Haha yeah. You always have the energy when you DONT need it. Like when you are traveling. And then when you get there you look and feel like death. I'll make sure to stock up on them...but yeah, i'll give you a shout when i run out ...or if i forget lmao.

Either that or i'll lay in the center of the hall moaning "Pro Plus...Pro Plus" That should get e'm rolling in :help:
