Yay managed to get cargo lift up and down before a maintenance guy told them not to use it because it broke down yesterday.
-
Oh bugger it sounds like it has suddenly got a lot more disable unfriendly. It was hard enough last year stairs may mean we're in trouble.

We aren't going for the typical cosplay stuff, far too expensive. May sound daft but we're going to dress up as Andy and Arelene Bellefleur. I'd love to do something like a storm trooper but think a trooper with a zimmer would look slightly ridiculous.Gotta admit, I think I'd get a kick out of cosplay myself, let alone my wee girl, but it strikes me as a potentially expensive thing?
Plus I'd have no idea what to go as - I'd probably need a mask as I get embarassed real easily!
I always get jealous of the guys who do events as Stormtroopers etc, always wanted one of those costumes!

Sorry didn't think about it.

Well me and the missus are considering dressing up next year (not going for the cosplay comp just for fun) slowly collecting stuff towards that will keep us busy.

I'd love some people from the internet nerdverse. Felicia Day is a wonderful guest or maybe Wil Wheaton. I guess George Takei would be way out of anyone's scope or any of the guys and girls from Big Bang Theory.

It will start with [url=ok noob question how do i post pics please?when i click on my media its saying i have to have the stuff stored first?how do i do that?
ha, I had the same problem first time I tried to upload photos. I got round it by uploading them to photobucket instead, and just putting a link up

edit-ok that seems to work but how can people have pics up on here visible without me having to click a link?

Yeah persuading guests to travel here in the middle of snow storms could be problematic. So anything from October to May would be out.

Still nothing this really is a bad show, still not convinced the thing hasn't been cancelled. If it hasn't they're losing money by not updating this if it has they are gaining wiggle room before they have to announce it.
-
It doesn't appear to be working yet.Has been fixed yet?It doesn't seem like they've done anything it take 2 minutes to put up a placeholder page saying sorry there are problems with the site at the moment.
-
It seems hope didn't get us too far.
-
This is kind of worrying "being looked at" it should take all of 5 minutes to make a fix even if it's just linking to a page saying sorry we are having problems at the moment.
Last time I saw a convention website go like this people only found out it had collapsed when they arrived.
-
Presumably photoshoots will be the same deal?
That's my understanding, yes.
Oh hell, this is going to screw with disabled people like me and the wife going.
If you need help - e.g. have a problem with standing for a longer time because you're disabled - please let the crew know. They'll help you out.
Except it's hard to get near any of the crew until your at the front of the queue.
-
I can't answer why there are no tickets available in the online store.
But may I suggest that if you see a crew member when you arrive, make yourselves known to them, and they will do their best to assist you.
They should be able to either supply a seat, or possibly take your entry money there and then, and show some discretion in your case.
Showmasters have always made it very clear that they will do their best to accommodate those with a disability, so long as you the attendee make yourself known to them on the day itself. I believe this also applies if you or your sister have any photoshoots planned.
I would guess a moderator should be able to confirm the above or advise accordingly if they see this thread.
Hope this assists you a bit.
Except you can't get to see anybody till your at the front of the queue.
this year tickets are to be sold on the day at the show
we are not selling tickets in advance for this show sorry
see you at the show
jason
Sorry looks like you won't

The queues are very long, went out at 11 last year and the queue was right through the shopping center.
-
Same here both me and he wife are disabled, wanted the early bird as would be impossible for us to queue a long time. No joy on the website though.

You complain about people hijacking the guest suggestions thread with worries about the event and when someone starts a legitimate thread it gets modded out of existence.

Isn't it slightly worrying that Autographica 16, The Hub 5 and even Collectormania Copenhagen has more guest announcements than Glasgow does.
Yes!
And the sad thing is that no one is gonna come if there are no decent guests. And if no one comes, it will not happen next year because it won't be good business
That's been my fear, this year flops and the plug is pulled
I already think it's past the point of no return no matter who they get now, how many will be able to suddenly change their plans at a months notice to suddenly make a journey here.
Having few guests isn't that much of a problem if you have a big headliner or a couple of medium names, but no offence to the guests announced there is nothing special to bring people here.

That's the thing isn't it, people are talking about late guests for other events but they still had a decent roster before those guests were announced.
-
We need bigger names, to be frank at the moment its not worth me coming and I live about 40min away.
I think it's too late for that, too many people won't be booking at this late point.
-
It's up for me. Maybe it was just down time. It happens.
I still think they need to orginise and sex up the site a bit better. All the separate sections (shop, sites, forum) are a little frustrating.
What address are you using all I get is "Firefox can't find the server at www.collectormaniaglasgow.co.uk." and been getting that for a few days.

As above how about getting some Scottish names for the Scottish convention such as Barrowman or Tennant.
