    Jason did say Park Inn, which I think you said you were not staying at with the con rate? Sorry if I remember incorrectly!

     

    I think I have figured it all out now... Just phoned them up again. When I was searching for a room with the agreed rate they had none available, so I booked another room. I was told by the guy at the hotel that the convention had been cancelled days before I booked the room, which is why there were no rooms at the rate.

     

    So... I booked a room for a convention I hoped was still going ahead. If we were told about the con cancellation the same day as the con being cancelled with the hotel, I wouldn't be losing money.

     

    I'm sad now, at this time, I can't afford losing that amount of money. :YAHOO:

     

    thats horrible to hear :dance: i still wish that they would give you a break! :/

     

    i also wish this con would have happened, even if i couldn't make it. But, here's hoping for another one in the future, im sure there will be!

    As a side note, I've been sharing the new BH2 Trailers around and subtly (okay NOT so subtly, truth be told! :D ) attaching to them a link to the Housebroken site to try to drum up more fans who might want to attend.

    I know sucks right? :/ i usually have to hunt them down on youtube, because when i go straight to the BBC youtube it says the same thing.

    Haha really? Might not be me - I have a different username on the blog but yeah I am a serious fan lol this is the first show I've ever been a huge huge fan of - never joined a blog or fansites or anything before so yeah its BH's fault that Im now a total geek lol but its worth it :-) x

    I think now with the screening...might even be less likely - another chance we have to meet the cast - and see the first episode of the second series a few days before the general public :-D :-D :-D sorry bad for convention I guess but awesome for the bloggers lol I cannae wait

     

    But again - its the fact that the guys at BH are so good to the fans so theres a few official things organised for us - like i said before something out of the conventions organisers control :-S

    I still think it would be a good idea if the date could be moved with redeemable tickets. And to be truthful id rather it be canceled and make a booming addition of followers after season two, then have the con and the show altogether gets canceled. Not that those are options.

     

    We only get BBC America, im not sure if the show will be airing on it as i downloaded the season. I watched it again recently and got the hubby on board the fanbase :YAHOO:

    I agree that the timing is a bit off. Number of factors aside the financial ones. And am i correct that this con is close to the date of the Twilight convention? With that having a GINORMOUS amount of fans, which one do you think most people are going to spend their money on if they are a fan of both? obviously the popularity of it is going to collide with the shows convention. Its a sad truth :blink: i don't care much at all for Twilight, but then Twilight fans may say the opposite. It would be a real shame to cancel this. But it would be a good idea if it could be "moved" somehow to a later date. Maybe in the summer?

     

    Maybe those with tickets can redeem them as summer ones as an idea? This way those who already have their tickets can go, and it leaves more time for others to buy as well (and the fan base might be bigger by then). Just throwing an idea out there.

    I would be beyond ecstatic to go! But the obstacles are pretty big for me as i am in Kansas, America. Its pretty hard to get over there financially at the moment (i notice money being a big issue for many here, and the holiday). But if i am able, id hate to buy the plane tickets, hotel, travel and such, And then the event gets canceled :lol:

     

    Id really love to see this thing come together and happen, even if i couldn't make it.
