  1. Totally agree with everyone. And many thanks to the lovely crew member (young lady) who handed me the photo of me with Alan of which I had no memory of being taken - although I now remember that the photographer liked the 'hand thing that was going on' and decided to take a second pic.

Big call out to Andy who on occasion went beyond the call of duty ha ha ha.

ooh that was me! It was lovely giving you your photo cos you were so utterly suprised and delighted to be given it :D (at least I think it was lol)

I was totally happy and very surprised - thank you soooooo much!

  3. The buses to the main terminal bus station/train station from the Thistle are really few and far between on Monday - I was lulled into a false sense of security having seen loads of busses picking up and putting down at the hotel over the weekend and then on Monday I had to wait for ages and one bus arrived, said it wasn't going where we wanted and we had to wait ages for the next one which was. You would be wise to leave much earlier than you would anticipate. But that was my experience, who's to say you'll get the same.

  4. It's got nothing to do with me. However, I think it is fair, as no other event really got anything as a replacement.

That and the fact that the economy isn't as good as when these events started, yet ticket prices have stayed mostly steady etc, I don't think it's that unreasonable.

Sorry I wasn't having a go at you personally. The photo was a really special touch and I'm all deflated and sad that it won't be happening. Jason and Mark said due to its success they would be taking it 'up a level' but it seems to be going in a downward direction. :P

  5. What is this people are talking about group photos of guest for silver pass?

Ok just reread it properly and i didn't get one either. I didn't hear them tell us that we had to pick up the group shots. Oh, im annoyed now ^_^

    I know, me too :/

Any word on if we can still get them Showmasters?? I don't think it was announced properly judging by how many people did not get the message...

Hi - it was announced clearly that they could be picked up from the registration desk after the closing ceremony, I was quite surprised at how many people didn't make the mad dash for it, but then it was quite a tiring weekend so not surprising that so many peeps missed it.

yeah but I didn't know I was entitled to it. It would have been better if they had said something like 'All gold and silver pass holders can now pick up their complimentary group shot from x location' but what i think they said was, 'the group shots are now ready' which I presumed meant the ones the gold pass holder got with all cast members and them in it. :/

Ah right, I was one of those really sad people who highlighted all the goodies on a printout of what the gold/silver/standard ticket holders should receive. I got to a point where I thought they weren't even going to be produced, not that I would have complained cos I am a real chicken when it comes to stuff like complaining. I can see how it got confusing.

  7. gold pass holders for Hallowhedon 1 had a group photo with the guests, it was the last event to do them as was advertised when the tickets went out. Assuming we wont get one unfortunately for Hallowhedon 2.

There were photos of the guests to pick up from this past event though on sunday, from what i understand a lot of us didnt pick them up. spoke to Malcolm about them on sunday night and said to get them monday but everyone had gone by the time we checked out of the hotel.

    Nicky

Awrrrrr Thats a shame - It was really special. I picked my group only pic up straight after the closing ceremony - before the mad crush that wasn't.

  8. Hi Hils

As soon as I got home I had an email from Thistle asking for feedback so I whinged about the service at the restaurant on my behalf and on behalf of someone else who had a problem.

Had a long trip home but managed to get the Krispy Kremes back in one piece. :firedevil:

Yeah, I got that e mail too so I shall be replying today.

Oh, I totally forgot to buy Krispy Kremes :D

Ooooh noooo - I bought an assorted dozen and havent had one yet - they went to hubby and lots of peeps at work although I have one in the fridge at home with my name on it - I have weight watchers tonight so after weigh in I can eat it. Yes I know what you are thinking - I lost two stone prior to this con!.

Really nice thing is that you can buy a bag from KK which is the size of the big dozen box so you can carry them without difficulty, super idea!. :D

  9. Before the event I was very dubious and rather disappointed that there were only five guests BUT WOW it worked - the organisation was fabulous, everything was timed to perfection, even with the glitches of James' back problem and the other James slight hangover on Sunday everything went to plan. The talks and the Guest Encounters were excellent, the parties were super especially with some of the guests wandering about freely and the fans were all so friendly. I bought my ticket for next year already and can't wait to see what Jason and Mark come up to move it 'to the next level'. Yay thanks guys it was great.

  10. I'm just getting the word out there that if anyone had any problems with the hotel restaurant on the Sunday evening to get in touch with them and complain. I'm pretty sure it wasn't just us

Essentially when we got there we were told we couldn't order from the menu, it was buffet or nothing. When we asked about other people who were clearly eating menu food the guy in question (it later transpired the hotel duty manager) told us we could eat from the menu but we wouldn't get the 20% discount. That was absolutely fine and when we told him this he told us we couldn't all sit together (there were only six of us it wasn't like we were a massive group).

The whole of the conversation reeked of 'we don't want convention people in here now that the con is over'. The guy was incredibly rude and snooty with us so in the end we went to McDonalds.

Everyone else was wonderful though. The girl behind reception that we complained to was kind and helpful and offered to get the manager until it transpired that he WAS the manager. She gave us a load of takeaway menus and also gave me a feedback card so I could make an official complaint

If anyone else had this experience I would recommend contacting the hotel at www.thistlefeedback.com

Such a shame because the whole weekend was brilliant up until that point

  11. We are pleased to inform you that we will be screening VICTOR, a Mark Lutz film on Saturday night before the party.

"VICTOR - is based on the true life story of Victor Davis, the Canadian Olympic and World Champion swimmer. It is the inspiring chronicle of a great Canadian hero – a working class kid from small-town Ontario, who through sheer guts and determination overcame both physical and psychological challenges to reach the ultimate pinnacle of his sport.

VICTOR showcases both the unrelenting drive and the ferocious ‘showboat’ personality that made Victor unique among other Canadian sporting heroes. Known as a master of psychological warfare, Victor’s use of intimidation and mind games was and is, legendary – many of his races won before any swimmer hit the water. Impassioned and intensely competitive, Davis loathed mediocrity and would accept no excuse for losing. So strong was his revulsion of second place, Victor would not display silver medals on his walls.

The film was the highest rated movie in over a decade in Canada, receiving both critical acclaim, and 5 Gemini nominations (Canada's Emmys), including "Best TV Movie" - ultimately winning 2. Additionally, it recently won 'Best Director' honours at the Moscow International Sports Film Festival.

VICTOR is written by and stars Mark Lutz, and is a production by the award-winning team of producer Bernie Zukerman and director Jerry Ciccoritti."

    :blink::D

I saw that recently - he looks sooooooooo good in swimwear!! :D

  12. I still cry when Wesley dies, totally heartbreaking - I watch that episode more than any other although you gotta admit the one where Angel and Spike go to Italy is a total gut buster of hilarity. I liked Fred but as Illyria she really shone out.
