  1. Well. I would personally say that most of the actors that is attending, is celebs that Danes would definately see. SW, HP, LOTR and Nightmare on Elm Street is all known over here, and with the New Moon movie coming up, it's definately going to attract some Twillight fans as well.

I think it's depending on how it's presented to the public, with posters and flyers, that tells in the end, how many interested there are over here. But of course, others from other places are hopefully coming as well.

  2. Seriously now, why not Paul Fusco, the creator, producer, puppeteer, writer & voice of ALF? That would be AWESOME!! I know at least a dozen people who'd jump on the opportunity to meet him.

I have to admit I have no idea who that is  has he done other jobs?

You don't know who ALF is? How old are you?

OMG, I totally forgot for a moment :o It was because you wrote it in big letters, I thought it was something else.

I LOVED that series, when I was a kid :P so of course I know about it :P

  4. I saw something on a local news programme a year or two ago about the roofs of houses being covered in grass. Supposed to be very eco-friendly. Many thanks for all the info above, the map and the photo of the outside of the venue.

Yeah, we have some of those. We are in many ways very environmental thinking, even though in some parts of Copenhagen it's very hard to see.

And you'd be surprised to see, that we don't really have that many skyscrapes. Our architecture are primarily brick buildings, very classy looking.. One of the things I like most about our capital. :P

  5.

I think there are going to be a lot more people going to this event from aboard then you realise, and plus a lot of people I know who live in Europe, go to Showmasters events in the UK to meet the so called actors you say won't go down well in Denmark, and Im sure there are others out there that are from Europe that might like the types of the guests you think won't go down well...

Yes attracting local people to the event is a good thing but remember showmasters have to cater for everyone going.

Of course there's going to be a lot of people from other countries, but one of the reasons that there is going to be a convention like this, in Denmark, is also to give the Danes a taste for it, so that it might happen again, if this is a success. This is no offence made to anyone, but if it weren't for making other Danes, than those who are already convention goers, then, the convention could have happenned anywhere else.

But as I tried to say before, of course those of you that are coming from other countries, should also be excited by the actors that are coming. So, maybe there should be a midway, and the team are probably going to find actors that attract all parts and not just one group :)

Okay, Mundi, I actually didn't know it had been shown on DR 1, but there's a reason for that, seeing as I don't watch that channel much anymore, and haven't done that for ten years :P

  6. Well, I would say Mara is right. And to be honest, I don't think that (I saw you mentioned Dr. Who) I don't think it would be as well received at a Danish convention, because, as far as I know, Dr. Who is not shown on Danish television. There's not that many British tv shows that are shown on Danish tv, and if it is, it's on cable and not national, whereas HP are more known, especially now because of the new movie.

But of course, there is the nerds who buy the DVD's who probably know the series. I myself actually only know it by the name, and have no idea what it is about.

But, seeing as, there's probably gonna be fans from other countries, maybe an actor or two from Dr. Who is going to take part in the event. You' never know, until all the actors are revealed :)

  7. I agree with Mara. It would deffinately make it more interesting with a few more known celebreties, to attract a Danish crowd. It's definately great that a many from other countries also wants to come, but us Danes here on the board, also hope to attract some of our fellow Danes :whistling:

I like the suggestion with Viggo Mortensen, Stellan Skarsgaard and Pernilla August. They're all more or less Scandinavians. There is of course also Mads Mikkelsen, who's also a Dane, so that's an obvious one as well.

  8. Copenhagen?

No offence to anyone from there but COPENHAGEN??!!??:P:P:D

You'd be surprised to see, how many actors who would actually be interested in coming to DK.

When I attended the Celebration IV convention in LA, back in 2007, and my friends and I told the stars that we were from Denmark, some actually asked, when we were going to have a convention there.

Also, Denmark has not had a big convention like Collectormania, and we do have a lot of movie fans over here, both fanatics and those who takes interest in it on a small level. There's a lot of us that really has been hoping for an event like this to come to DK

Copenhagen is also a very beautiful city to visit. It's not a grand city like London or New York, but it's a great place, with a lot of tourist attractions, and very classic buildings and castles. So if you're also a culture buff, then there's something there too, because we have a big history :-)

  9. As a Dane myself, I'm really looking forward to this event, seeing, it is the first time a big event like this, is even happening. And there's a lot of us that's been waiting for it for a very long time.

Also very cool to see the poster in Danish :P YEAH!! It's going to be very exciting.

As to where Copenhagen is: It's the capital of Denmark, and is in the eastern part of the country on the island of Sealand (Sjælland in Danish) If you fly from where ever you are from to Kastrup Airport, then you are in Copenhagen, or in a part of Copenhagen. But fortunately, there's a subway that goes directly from the Airport to the center of Copenhagen, so it shouldn't be that hard :-) We have other airports around the country, but if you go from there, you have to take the train for a couple of hours, to Copenhagen Central Station.

I hope that helped you a little
