    I'm group 5. I'm coming down with my niece and staying at the Hilton because I am much too lazy to have to travel back and forward, I want to only be a lift ride away from my room. We have Silver 1&2, can't wait I'm really excited now, just bought our train tickets today.

     

    You'll see me there, I'll be the one with short brown and red hair and wearing a U.S.Army shirt on Sat.

    How much money to take?

    Not counting Hotel or travel down there I plan to have about £200-£250. Breakfast is included in the hotel and I plan to be skimping on food, it will be pot noodles, cup-o-soup and sandwiches while there. Most of my £££ will be for the auctions or guest encounters.

    any scots?

    What trains are you looking at? The trains I am looking at leave from Glasgow central into birmingham with one stop, run by Virgin. However at the change in Wolverhampton they only give 10mins to get the connecting train. I have no trust that the trains will be running on time and know I will miss that 10min window.

    I am also worried but holding out hope that I will be surprised.

     

    I can see where peoples fears are coming in. People were promised a bigger and better ET3 and I am sure that is what a lot of people based their ticket buying on. At the time that might have been possible and I understand that things change and can't always be delivered but I feel instead of dead air and silence something could have been said saying that it was harder than normal or they were having difficulty in getting guests (if that is the case) or that "we are working on it and have things in the pipeline. Bear with us". But nothing was said and people continued to buy tickets under this pretense.

     

    One post about the status would have kept people happy but IMO the silence is un-nerving people. Tickets to the con, hotel for the weekend plus travel arrangements and time off work add up and a lot of people don't have that kind of money to throw around freely without reassurance.

     

    Now don't get me wrong, you could totally pull something out the bag last minute and shock everybody, and you probably will just like with Rachelle. But more so than no guests being announced I think people are put out that after a lot of money has been spent we are stuck in the limbo of knowing nothing and being told to wait when questions about possible guests are asked.

    Prepares to be flamed.

     

    As much as I LOVE the guy, and believe me I do. I don't think I would want him there. The hysteria, pandemonium and screaming that would follow him everywhere whenever he was on the floor, the extra security and additional rules and not to mention the paps and and gatecrashers trying to get in would take away from the other guests and from the weekend. IMO.

    I was at ET2 and will be attending ET3. I want desperately to go to ET4 but I am moving to America in March so can't go. ;)

    Just outside Washington DC. Have a lot to do before I leave and I am probably postponing the flights out but I have to go to et3 first, just have to.

    For the calling of the groups for the talks. I was group 5, when we were standing waiting the man at the door called groups 3/4/5 all within 30 seconds of each other it seemed so if you were even the slightest distance from the door you stood no chance of going in when your group was called as there was a lot of crowding. We still managed to get great seats but I can see where someone with lower seat groupings could lose out with that.

    It was my first event but I loved the numbered grouping system for the talks and the pictures. It made entering the halls for the talks so easy and when I left the hall for my group encounter I didn't have to worry about my seat being taken, I came back for the next talk and just took my seat again. I really hope this system is kept again as I liked it.

     

    I also noticed the same group of people at the parties and talks always crowding around the guests and being loud and made sure to stay well enough away from them but I don't think ME can really do anything about that, it did dampen the parties for us some though.

     

    I do have to give you a round of applause of your very helpful and charming staff. It was a very busy and chaotic weekend and not once were they not gracious or curteous when answering my questions which I am sure they had answered a thousand times before. You have a winning team working for you and they made my weekend with you that much more enjoyable.

    The money will be taken at the reservation or in February 2010? And we can cancel the reservation later?

     

    Just booked my room for the weekend, the took my card details but did not charge anything I can pay upon checking in on Feb 2010. You have up until 2 days before check in to cancel.

     

    The lady told me she only had a few rooms left but I don't know how accurate that info is as Park Inn told me the same thing then booked me a room the next day.
